    No full text
“Neurodynamics” is an interdisciplinary area of mathematics where dynamical systems theory (deterministic and stochastic) is the primary tool for elucidating the fundamental mechanisms responsible for the behaviour of neural systems (whether biological or synthetic). A meeting on this topic was held at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences in Edinburgh from March 5–7 in 2012. In this special issue, we have invited seven of the main contributors to this event to expand on their presentations and highlight the use of mathematics in understanding the dynamics of neural systems

The purpose of the study is to conduct empirical and statistical evaluation, as well as subsequent comparative analysis of the expression of university adaptation components (social, didactic, and professional) in 1st year medical students studying on different financial basis (commercial, budgetary, and target contract). The scientific novelty of the study lies in the research of medical students’ adaptation processes in the context of their financial basis of education. The online testing method with the subsequent statistical analysis of the obtained data has been applied. To identify the level of expression of the university adaptation components, the method “Students’ adaptation to university” by M.S. Yurkina was used as a diagnostic tool. According to the obtained data, there are statistically significant differences in the levels of expression of the university adaptation components in 1st year medical students studying on a different financial basis. The least psychologically stable from the point of view of social infusion into the university environment are the students studying under the target contract. Didactic and professional adaptation components in higher education are least expressed in students studying on a commercial basis. The data obtained as a result of the study can be used in university educational activity to improve freshmen’s adaptation processes management considering the financial basis of their education, which will optimize the issue of preserving the contingent of students

The article is devoted to the study of the features of the personal adaptability structure of 1st year students of a medical university studying on a budgetary basis. The concept of the phenomenon of adaptability is given, various approaches to understanding the structural components of adaptability are analyzed. The study used the method of Kolpakova L.M., which reveals the adaptive attitude of the individual to difficult situations, and the method of Maklakov A.G., which diagnoses the adaptive abilities of the individual. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were drawn about the deficiency of the level of reflective-evaluative, cognitive-emotional components of adaptability and the general level of adaptive abilities of this group of students. The analysis of the behavioral component of adaptability demonstrates the opposite result of its parameters; based on the results of the analysis of the motivational-semantic component, average indicators for both of its parameters were revealed. It has been established that the majority of respondents have signs of character accentuations with a tendency to behavioral reactions of a neurotic type, low emotional stability and signs of a socio-oriented personality orientation

The subject of the study are recipients of social services living in rural areas. The subject of the study: the structure and quality of social services for recipients of social services living in rural areas. The purpose of the master's thesis is to identify the level of satisfaction of recipients of social services living in rural areas (on the example of GAUSO SO "KCSON Prigorodny District"). In the process, an analysis of scientific literature and the regulatory framework in the field of social partnership in the social sphere was carried out, a sociological study was carried out, which highlighted the structure of social problems of recipients of social services, and the model of social partnership was improved for the benefit of recipients of social services living in rural areas. The sociological study was attended by 200 recipients of social services living in rural areas - wards of GAUSO SO "KCSON Prigorodny District." As a result of the study, it was revealed that among the main difficulties faced by recipients of social services living in rural areas are the availability of medical care, opportunities for acquiring new skills and skills, and opportunities for organizing leisure activities. To solve this problem, we have improved the model of social partnership for the benefit of recipients of social services living in rural areas, after testing of which a repeated survey was carried out, which proved the effectiveness of this model

© 2003 International Union of CrystallographyDOI: 10.1107/S0108270103020985Syntheses and X-ray structural investigations have been carried out for the two title compounds, viz. C(17)H(17)N(3)O(2), (I), and C(22)H(20)N(2)O(2), (II). The molecular skeleton of (I) is slightly non-planar; the dihedral angles between the conjugated linkage and the p-(dimethylamino)phenyl ring, and between the linkage and the p-nitrophenyl ring are 13.0 (2) and 13.8 (2) degrees, respectively. The dihedral angle between the slightly pyramidal dimethylamine substituent and the aromatic ring is 23.3 (1) degrees. The molecular skeleton of (II) is not planar; the dihedral angles between the conjugated linkage and the naphthalene ring, and between the linkage and the substituted phenyl ring are 36.1 (2) and 2.7 (3) degrees, respectively. The dimethylamine substituent in (II) has a pyramidal geometry; the dihedral angle between this substituent and the naphthalene ring is 71.7 (1) degrees. The dihedral angle between the nitro group and the plane of the substituted phenyl ring is 9.0 (3) degrees. There is a weak intermolecular C-H.O hydrogen bond in the crystal structure of (II), which links the molecules into centrosymmetric dimers. Molecular mechanics calculations of molecular conformations have shown that the crystal environment influences the conformation more in (I) than in (II)

Aim. To estimate ibrutinib efficacy in the treatment of first early CLL relapses and in patients with ≥ 2 lines of preceding therapy. Analysis of treatment results in patients with del(17p) and monitoring of minimal residual disease (MRD) and ibrutinib safety profile. Materials & Methods. The analysis included the results of ibrutinib treatment in 31 patients with CLL. Twenty eight patients were treated by bendamustine and fludarabine containing regimens. The median prior treatment lines were 2 (range 1–10). The indications for the treatment initiation were the first early relapse in 51 % of cases (n = 16) and a relapse after 2 and more lines of therapy in 49 % of cases (n = 15). Ibrutinib was administered in mono- (n = 15) and combined therapy (n = 14) as well as in the R-BAC scheme (n = 2). Using FISH analysis del(17p) was found in 9 patients (34 %). Results. Within the median follow up of 18 months (range 7–42+) the overall survival (OS) rate was reported to be 87 %, and the progression-free survival (PFS) rate was 77 %. The maximum MRD after a year of ibrutinib treatment was observed in case of combination with immunochemotherapy (e.g., R-BAC). Within the period of 18 months OS rate was 100 %, in the patient group with first early relapses and 66 % in the group with a relapse after 2 and more therapy lines (p = 0.02). Within the same examination period PFS was significantly higher (94 %) in the patient group with first early relapses compared to the previously treated patients (60 %) (p = 0.034). The most common adverse events were grade 1–2 purpura (30 %), grade 1–2 diarrhea (10 %), atrial fibrillation paroxysms (10 %) and arterial hypertension (10 %). Severe infectious complications registered in 6 % (n = 3) patients were successfully solved in the course of combined antibacterial and antimycotic treatment. Conclusion. Ibrutinib was shown to be effective drug for treatment of relapsed CLL. The OS and PFS values were more favourable in patients with first early relapses compared to the patients with relapses after ≥ 2 lines of therapy prior to ibrutinib treatment. The maximum elimination of the tumor clone was observed after combined ibrutinib/immunochemotherapy treatment. The tolerance of ibrutinib was reported to be satisfactory with acceptable toxicity profile. No mortality due to infection complications was observed
