Life Experience under Multiple Labels——Analysis of Yu Xiuhua’s Poems
Yu Xiuhua’s poems have entered people’s field of vision in the 21st century. Readers often satisfy their curiosity with the life situation of Yu Xiuhua suffering from cerebral palsy. Yu Xiuhua should be paid more attention to his identity as a “poet”. Yu Xiuhua’s poems have the power to shake people’s hearts. She expresses her life experience, life perception, love desire, etc. in her poems, which brings artistic aesthetic enjoyment to people. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate Yu Xiuhua’s poems on life experience under multiple labels. The author evaluates the life value of the “poet with cerebral palsy” in Yu Xiuhua’s poems, the life feelings of the “rural poet” and the life perception of the “female poet”, depicts the world outlined by the poet Yu Xiuhua, and shows her joys and sorrows., to let readers understand the poet Yu Xiuhua under multiple labels
Fables: Fong Siue-Fong
I already have a similar book with English translations of Feng Hsueh-Feng, now here written Fong Siue-Fong. In fact, I have it in a hardbound first edition of 1953 and a paperbound second edition of 1955. Here is the hardbound French edition of 1955. The artist in those editions was called Huang Yung-yu; here he is Houang Yong-yu. The translator is not here acknowledged. This copy adds a picture of the author at the head of two new pages devoted to him. Surprisingly, the first full-page illustration -- for Le Paysan, les Moineaux et les Alouettes -- is reduced in size (5). Not all of the printer's designs used in the second edition are used here, perhaps because some texts run longer on the page. The order of fables seems to differ from the respective orders in the English editions. As I mention there, the fables are often directly admonitory and/or of a highly political slant. Un Rat Original may have the best illustration (77). Among the most overtly political is the fable on the imperialist weasel munching a duckling (26-8); here again the illustration is reduced, this time to fit horizontally and not vertically onto its page. There is a T of C at the back. The Foreign Languages Press in 1983 also did a paperbound version in smaller format but using the same illustrations, and I have that edition too. This is a hardbound book (hard cover)Language note: FrenchOriginal language: chiStated first editionFong Siue-Fon
Yu. M. Lotman and Contemporary Narratology
The paper reconstructs the influence of the semiotic studies of Yu. Lotman on the formation of the problems and the research apparatus of modern (“post-classical”) multimedia narratology, associated with the names of J. Genette, P. Ricoeur, W. Schmid and others. In particular, the author discusses the emergence of scientific interest in the film narrative, which has also had a significant impact on literary narratology, enriching it with the constructive concept of the “narrative image”. The article focuses on Lotman’s storytelling research, especially the concept of “plot-driven texts” of culture in their opposition to “plotless texts”. Particular importance is attached to the distinction between plot and myth, which continued O. M. Freidenberg’s investigations into the origin of narration. Lotman’s pioneering role in mastering the scientific categories of “narrative worldview” and “narrative event” is described. The author reveals the place of Lotman's research heritage in the comprehension of narrative practices as a tool for mental appropriation of life, accumulation and retranslation of event experience, as well as in the birth and development of the modern project of historical narratology
YU YU HAKUSHO FIRST EPISODE: A semiotic narrative analysis
This paper aims to analyze the meanings and feelings represented by semiotic elements available in the first episode of the anime Yu Yu Hakusho. The theoretical approach adopted is the Semiotic Cultural Psychology (SCP) in which considers human beings as meaning makers in the world through the mediation of signs. In this paper we consider signs from the Peirce perspective as the representation of objects in the real world and divided into symbols, indexes and icons. From SCP we considered how these signs can represent mediation by pleromatization and schematization in order to understand meanings and feelings represented by field-like signs and point-like signs. In the excerpt from this article, we selected the first episode of the anime Yu Yu Hakusho to understand how meanings and feelings are regulated through existing complexes of signs during the narrative. To achieve this, we cataloged the main semiotic elements of the episode, classifying them as point-like signs or field-like signs. Subsequently, we analyzed which of these signs were part of a semiotic hybrid complex (pleromatization/field-like signs/hyper-generalization) regulating feelings related to the narrative and which expressed constructed and shared meanings (schematization/point-like signs/generalization). In the results, we found that semiotic elements can be considered as narrative devices to involve the viewer in the story based on the intentionality of the author. In the Yu Yu Hakusho first episode, the intentionality is based in the presentation of the character Yusuke and the creation of feelings related to him. In this sense, in order to present who Yusuke is, point-like signs were identified representing some characteristic about him. In the second part of the episode, there was a predominance of field-like signs in order to create some feelings about Yusuke based on the empathy constructed in the first part of the narrative. Then, as related in the literature, mediations by schematization and pleromatization acted all the time in order to relate cognitive elements (meanings constructed about Yusuke) and effective elements (feelings to be felt for Yusuke)
The creative contacts of P. Tychyna with Yu. Mychayliv and K. Bilokur through prism of synthesis of arts
(uk) У статті крізь призму синтезу мистецтв досліджено творчі контакти П. Тичини, поета, що майстерно поєднав слово, музику та живопис, з художниками Ю. Михайлівом та К. Білокуром, картини яких сугестують музичність.(en) The paper deals with the investigation of the arts contacts between P. Tychyna, Yu. Mykhayliv, and K. Bilokur through the prism of the synthesis of the arts. P. Tychyna is recognized as an artist who masterfully combined word, music, and painting in his poetry. One of the ways of the elucidation is the research of the artists’ direct and indirect influence on P. Tychyna’s poetic style. I n this paper the attention is concentrated on Yu. Mykhayliv’s and K. Bilokur’s impact.
Yu. Mykhayliv is a prominent representative of musical painting. I n particular, music is provoked through the titles of his works («Music of Stars», «Music of Waterfalls», «Sonata of the Moon», etc.), through his painting technics (dynamics and rhythm of images, lines and colours), and through the using specific music methods and laws in the pictorial art. And arts contacts with Yu. Mykhailiv denotes P. Tychyna’s style. For example, Yu. Mykhayliv’s «Music of Stars» intercrosses with P. Tychyna’s space motives. And this aspect is analyzed in detail in the paper.
K. Bilokur is an outstanding painter excelling in drawing flowers («Flowers in the Fog», «Wild Flowers», «Flowers in the Evening», «Decorative Flowers», etc.). Her pictures produce music effects on the associative level. And the close relationships in art between a painter and a poet observe through their works on the associative level. For example, K. Bilokur’s «Exuberant» suggests an obvious analogy with P. Tychyna’s cyclus «In the Space Orchestra». The author of the paper examines the arts contacts between K. Bilokur and P. Tychyna
