The Dilemma of the Literary Approach to the Qur\u27an / ﻣﺄﺯﻕ ﺍﻟﻤﻘﺎﺭﺑﺔ ﺍﻷﺩﺑﻴﺔ ﻟﻠﻘﺮﺁﻥ
No full text[The article focuses on the intellectual and religious problems facing the researcher using literary methodology, when approaching religious texts in general and the Qur\u27an in particular. The article recounts the 1947 controversy over a doctoral dissertation submitted to Cairo University, entitled The Narrative Art in the Holy Qur\u27an. It was rejected after heated debate and the author, Muhammad Ahmad Khalafallah-an assistant lecturer then-was transferred to a non-teaching job. The article attempts to situate this debate within earlier literary approaches to the study of the Qur\u27an and particularly the theory of the medieval critic \u27Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani and his notion of i\u27jaz (inimitability) and nazm (poetic syntax). The article explores how the literary approach has developed in Islamic studies during al-Nahda (Arab Renaissance) and the problematic question of relation between Qur\u27anic narration and history. The article concludes by proposing ways of honing the literary method on the basis of new epistemic foundations. /تركز الدراسة ﺑﺼﻔﺔ أساسية على مناقشة المشكلات الفكرية والعقيدية التي تواجه منهج الدراسة الأدبية للنصوص الدينية عموماﹰ، ولدراسة النص القرآني بصفة خاصة٠ ولتحقيق ﻫﺬﺍ الغرض تتخذ مادتها الأساسية من الجدل الذي صار في مصر عام ١٩٤٧ حول الدراسة التي تقدم بها محمد أحمد خلف ﺍﻟﻠﻪ لنيل درجة الدكتوراه من جامعة القاهرة عن ((الفن القصصي في القرآن الكريم))٬ وهو الجدل الذي أدى إلى رفض الرسالة من جهة الجامعة وإلى تحويل المعيد محمد أحمد خلف ﺍﻟﻠﻪ إلى وظيفة أخرى غير التدريس في الجامعة٠ تحاول الدراسة ﺗﺘﺒﻊ الجذور التراثية للمنهج الأدبي في دراسة القرآن، وما أدى إليه البحث في قضية ((ﺍﻹﻋﺠﺎﺯ)) من ﺑﻠﻮﺭﺓ مفاهيم أسلوبية وبلاغية وجدت تعبيرها الأمثل في نظرية ((النظم)) كما صاغها عبد القاهر الجرجاني٠ وتواصل الدراسة تتبع امتداد هذه الجذور في عصر النهضة العربي الذي كان يواجه ﺃﺳﺌﻠﺔ وإشكاليات أكثر تعقيداﹰ، ومنها على وجه الخصوص قضية ((السرد ﺍﻟﻘﺮﺁﻧﻲ)) وعلاقته بالتاريخ٠ ثم ينتهي البحث بخلاصة تتساءل عن مصير هذا المنهج وتتقدم ببعض الاقتراحات لمواصلة بلورة المنهج انطلاقاﹰ من أسس معرفية جديدة٠
