    4. Phyllodon laevifolius (Mitt.) J.T. Wynns Glossadelphus laevifolius has been recorded in Yunnan, China (Redfearn et al., 1989). Examining the voucher specimens [Jinghong Co.: P.L. Redfearn Jr. 34281 (PE); Menghai Co.: P.L. Redfearn Jr. 34236 (PE)], we confirm them to be Phyllodon lingulatus.Published as part of Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M. Fleisch. 5. Phyllodon similans (Bosch & Sande Lac.) S. He Hypnum similans Bosch & Sande Lac. was described as an Indonesian species distributed in Java (Fleischer 1923). The species has been listed in moss flora of China based on a specimen from Hainan province [P.-C. Chen et al. 574 (PE)]. Our examination reveals it to be Phyllodon lingulatus.Published as part of Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M. Fleisch. 2. Phyllodon bilobatus (Dixon) P.E.A.S. Câmara Phyllodon bilobatus was reported as Glossadelphus bilobatus from Yunnan province of China by Redfearn et al. (1989) [Mengla Co.: J.-X. Luo 86007 (PE)] and by Wu & Jia (2004) [Jinghong Co.: J.-X. Luo 86171 (PE)]. However, the voucher specimens we examined are not correctly identified. They are both Phyllodon lingulatus.Published as part of Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M. Fleisch. 1. PHYLLODON Schimp. Five species of Phyllodon have been known in China: they are P. bilobatus, P. glossoides, P. lingulatus, P. laevifolius (Mitt.) J.T. Wynns (2020: 647) and P. similans (Bosch & Sande Lac.) S. He in He & Nguyen (2012: 59). In the present study, only one species P. lingulatus is confirmed, whereas other four species records are interpreted as misidentification and should be excluded from moss flora of China. For details, see the section “Species of Glossadelphus excluded from moss flora of China ” below.Published as part of Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M. Fleisch. Ectropothecium Mitten 1868

    3. ECTROPOTHECIUM Mitt. Ectropothecium includes about 205 species in the world, and 16 species in China (Jia & He 2013). In the recent study, the diagnostic features of Ectorpothecium characters have been summarized as follows (He 2019): (1) filamentous and slenderly lanceolate or foliose pseudoparaphyllia, (2) more or less asymmetric and somewhat falcate-secund, hardly falcate to even not falcate leaves, (3) weakly to moderate prorate laminal cells, (4) 1(–2) in number, large, inflated, hyaline, and thin-walled cells at the base of leaves, (5) small-sized capsules, and (6) collenchymatous exothecial cells. In the present study, we have concluded that Glossadelphus anomalus and G. falcatulus are best classifying in Ectropothecium. The detailed discussion is shown below.Published as part of Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M. Fleisch. 1. <i>Glossadelphus prostratus</i> (Dozy & Molk.) M. Fleisch. <p> Both <i>Glossadelphus anomalus</i> from Hainan (Tixier 1988) and <i>Myurella brevicosta</i> from Xizang (Gao & Cao 1992) of China were mistook as <i>G. prostratus</i> and thus the species is once recorded from China (Lin <i>et al.</i> 1992, Jia & He 2013). However, our study indicates that <i>G. anomalus</i> and <i>M. brevicosta</i> are not identical with <i>G. prostratus</i>, but species of <i>Ectropothecium</i> and <i>Bryocrumia</i>, respectively (See sections 3.1 and 2.1 above for details). Therefore, <i>G. prostratus</i> should be excluded from moss flora of China.</p>Published as part of <i>Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M. Fleisch. Phyllodon glossoides P. E. A. S. Camara

    3. Phyllodon glossoides (Bosch & Sande Lac.) P.E.A.S. Câmara Hypnum glossoides Bosch & Sande Lac. was described as an Indonesian species distributed in Java (Fleischer 1923). It was reported from Guangdong and Yunnan provinces of China by Redfearn et al. (1989) and Wu & Jia (2004). Our examination of voucher specimens reveals that the distribution records of Guangdong [P.L. Redfearn Jr. 34376b (PE)] and Yunnan [W.-X. Xu 6452 (PE)] by Redfearn et al. (1989) are based on misidentification. Both of the voucher specimens are identical to Phyllodon lingulatus. While the voucher specimen [P.L. Redfearn Jr. & Y.-G. Su 942 (PE)] used for Yunnan recorded by Wu and Jia (2004) is a species of Symphyodon Montagne (1841: 279). It is in accord with the concept of Symphyodon by its oblong-lanceolate leaves, serrate leaf margins and slightly decurrent bases, obvious double costae and proration at upper end of laminal cells.Published as part of Yi, Zhao-Qin, Mu, Li-Qiang & Jia, Yu, 2022, Notes on Glossadelphus M.
