    For this performer, this project represented a return to organ recital performancce after almost four decades. The performance included works first performed by this artist as a young performer, as well as other works (50% of the programme) that were prepared specifically for this project. This recital of major works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Gigout, Franck, Reger, Bloch and Alain allowed for reflection and exploration of themes such as: (a) the development and maturation of interpretative stances evidenced over the period of decades, made explicit because of the lack of performance in the intervening years (b) insights into the recital performance process as a mature musician revisiting their craft (c) audience perceptions and responses to a recital whose repertoire is unfamiliar
