    Abstract: Typescript copy of a diary kept by Lucy P. Moore during late 1859 and early 1860. Annotation by an unidentified hand suggests that Moore lived near Hopkinsville, Kentucky.Scope and Content Note: This collection consists of a typescript copy of a diary kept by Moore, covering the period November 2, 1859 to March 1, 1860, although there are gaps in the entries, most notably the period from December 6, 1859 to January 1, 1860. The diary entries are concerned chiefly with personal and family matters and with weather conditions. An unknown hand has annotated portions of the text, in particular identifying individuals mentioned in the course of Moore's entries.Biographical/Historical Note: The typescript provides no indication of where Moore lived; annotation on the title page (in two different hands) mention 1) "Elk Grove," which is identified as being eight miles south of Hopkinsville Kentucky on the Clarksville, Tennessee, Pike, and that the diary is "from the W.N. Haldeman and Bruce Haldeman Papers.
