    Passivity-based harmonic control through series/parallel damping of an H-bridge rectifier

    Nowadays the H-bridge is one of the preferred solutions to connect DC loads or distributed sources to the single-phase grid. The control aims are: sinusoidal grid current with unity power factor and optimal DC voltage regulation capability. These objectives should be satisfied, regardless the conditions of the grid, the DC load/source and the converter nonlinearities. In this paper a passivity-based approach is thoroughly investigated proposing a damping-based solution for the error dynamics. Practical experiments with a real converter validate the analysis.

    Active front end adjustable speed drives under grid voltage sags: effects and dynamical performance evaluation

    In this paper an evaluation of voltage sags effects on active front end adjustable speed drives (ASD's) performance has been carried out. The operation of such devices is affected by several disturbances that can occur on the electrical grid. According to a number of surveys on power quality, voltage sags represent the main cause of disturbances which effects are even more evident than the ones related to harmonics. Therefore, the behavior and the dynamical performances of field-orientated and direct torque control drives under grid symmetrical voltage sags are investigated and simulation as well as experimental results are presented. This kind of analysis provides useful advices for future work on how drive control technique can be modified and implemented in order to fulfill some important requirements above all on speed regulation and grid current

Mengingat dalam pasar monopoli hanya terdapat satu penjual dari satu produk (barang atau jasa) yang tidak mempunyai alternatif produk pengganti (subtitusi) maka dalam pasar monopoli tidak ada persaingan dari penjual lain. Dalam kehidupan perekonomian yang faktual, sangat jarang mendapat penjual yang tidak menghadapi persaingan dari penjual lain.     Il volume è dedicato a Monopoli e in particolare alla chiesa e confraternita di S. Maria del Suffragio nonché al tema della morte, alle sue ritualità e alla sua iconografia in Terra di Bari. Questo ristretto ma intenso "universo barocco" viene indagato con diversi e convergenti metodi della storia socio-economica, della storia delle arti, della storia religiosa e delle scienze antropologiche. Appare straordinaria l'epifania della circolarità del tempo, in un ciclo dalla Nascita (la chiesa in origine era dedicata alla Natività di Maria) conduce fino alla Morte, nel segno però di una auspicata ri-Nascita, con l'uscita delle Anime dalle fiamme del purgatorio attraverso l'intermediazione della Madonna del Suffragio.La chiesa custodisce nove corpi mummificati, tra i quali emerge la bambina "Plautilla", che costituisce quasi il simbolo della confraternita e di una morte ritualizzata e "addomesticata", consegnata dal mondo del passato al presente

However, their clinical use is hampered by the low in vivo bioavailability and systemic toxicity. Such limitations might be overcome by using appropriate drug delivery systems. Here, the preparation of a drug delivery system (DDS) by physical conjugation of an arginine-rich peptide and hydrothermal carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) has been explored, and its antimicrobial efficacy against Eschericia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus investigated in comparison with the unloaded carrier and the free peptide. The mechanism of interaction between CNPs and the bacteria was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and a combined dielectrophoresis−Raman spectroscopy method for real- time analysis. In view of a possible systemic administration, the effect of proteins on the stability of the DDS was investigated by using albumin as a model protein. The peptide was bounded electrostatically to the CNPs surface, establishing an equilibrium modulated by pH and albumin. The DDS exhibited antimicrobial activity toward the two bacterial strains, albeit lower as compared to the free peptide. The decrease in effectiveness toward E. coli was likely due to the rapid formation of a particle-induced extracellular matrix. The present results are relevant for the future development of hydrothermal CNPs as drug delivery agents of AMP
