Considerable difficulties are connected with seminar occupations on geographical methodics. Methodics being a comparatively young science there are but few traditions to build upon, scarcely any former achievements, and a meager litterature to resort to, neither are there any experimental training schools. Lack of students pedagogical experience i s another obstacle. Because of all these reasons seminar occupations could be organised only in the section for learners who at the same time were acting teachers with a certain previous pedagogical experience. Preparation to the Master’s degree seminar was preceded by an introductory theoretical pre-seminar course to acquaint the learners with essential investigation methods. Seminar occupations were focused on the M. degree theses. The main topics were as follows: experimental inwestigation of the importance of converance with geographic literature and methods of making use of it; role of excursions, their choice and methods of taking advantage in class of the acquired observations; value of various aid and appliances and their use in class; ways of work with a manual: topics and methods of conducting exercises on d ifferent stages and their importance for promoting the pupils' individual initiative. A separate group of work was devoted to the study of the history of methodics and the value certain of attainmants. A comparative study of results obtained by applying different methods was carried out on concrete examples. This gratly to the advantage of the authors of analysed works, whose interes in the subject was increaset by diclosing new perspectives of independent experimenting and by teaching their a critical approach to their own lessons. Thus the problems of scientific and experimental methodics in geography were pointed out and the way to their scientific elaboration was made clear
