BOOK REVIEW: Călin Ioan Dușe, “Imperiul Roman și creștinismul în timpul Sfântului Clement Romanul”. [Foreword by Rev. Prof. Dr. Cristian Barta, University of Cluj Press, Cluj-Napoca, 2021, 572 pp.] Cuvânt înainte Pr. Prof. Univ. Dr. Cristian Barta, Cluj
The book of Fr. Univ. Lect. Dr. Călin Ioan Dușe, entitled The Roman Empire and Christianity in the time of St. Clement of Rome, is dedicated to the connection between the study of patristics and the historical-cultural context in which Christian literature developed during the first centuries. The current approach continues another work written by the author, namely The Roman Empire and Christianity in the time of Apostolic Fathers, published by Cluj University Press in 2019, in line with the author\u27s field of research and specialisation, aiming to analyze the symbiosis between the historical events, the cultural evolution of the Roman Empire and the development of Christianity over the centuries
BOOK REVIEW: CALIN TEUTIȘAN, "SCENARII ALE CRITICII. PROTAGONIȘTI, METODE, INTERPRETARI", CLUJ-NAPOCA: ȘCOALA ARDELEANA, 2021, 276 P.
Bringing together a series of scientific articles published between 2011 and 2019, Călin Teutișan\u27s book, Scenarios of Criticism. Protagonists, Methods, Interpretations, aims to map the critical spirit of the so-called “Școala de la Cluj” [Cluj School], represented by a series of emblematic figures analyzed in detail. Călin Teutișan’s analytical hypotheses start from empirical data, namely a series of dictionaries and monographic studies published in co-authorship, thus demonstrating “the readiness of these critics to work together” (10). Assuming the concept of la communaute inavouable, belonging to Maurice Blanchot, Călin Teutișan demonstrates that beyond differences between these scholars, there is a certain feeling of “incompleteness” whose counterpart is the feeling of belonging to a community, developing common ideas, obsessions, and methods. The effort to bring together ample critical portraits of Dumitru Popovici, Ioana Em. Petrescu, Liviu Petrescu, Ion Pop, Mircea Muthu, Corin Braga, Alex Goldiș, Emanuel Modoc, Daiana Gârdean, Ovio Olaru, and others is doubled by the welcome contextualization, both historical and theoretical, of each figure or school of thought. This means that a theoretical framework accompanies the deliberately exhaustive and engaged presentations of some Opera Omnia (in the case of well-established critics). One of the merits of this book is bringing forward a productive intellectual dialogue with these critics. Therefore, Călin Teutișan’s critical portraits combine in-depth analyses with synthetic approaches, contextualization, and cultural dialogue. What distinguishes each author analyzed is the style and methodology by which critical works are approached
BOOK REVIEW: Călin Ioan Duşe, ‟A Healthy mind in a healthy body - Mens sana un corpore sano”, the second edition, revised and extended, Cluj-Napoca, Presa Universitară Clujeană, 2022, 536 p.
The work A healthy mind in a healthy body – Mens sana in corpore sano, is the second revised and added edition of the homonymous book written by Călin Ioan Dușe. As the author confesses, this synthesis brings together some studies, which he has published over time, but also some chapters from published books, in such a way that they feed both the mind, but especially the soul. Also, in the introductory word, the author reasons that the genesis of the volume, which he offers to the public, can be found in the courses taught online to master’s students, in the academic year 2020-2021. After the introduction and the necessary critical notes, the author presents Education and education to the Romans, by which he concludes by saying that “the importance of Roman education was not limited to the small additions that it managed to bring to the classical education of the Hellenistic model, but especially by the fact that it managed to spread this model of education throughout the Empire over the centuries.
Collaborative Cloud - Edge: A Declarative API orchestration model for the NextGen 5G Core
As the edge computing era matures, it encompasses a broader range of applications that will be able to opportunistically use both the edge and the cloud mainly determined by the location constraints or the mission-critical reasons. Moreover, the convergence of verticals with the next generation mobile network will lead to an imminent edge-cloud collaboration that needs to be carefully addressed by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). This paper proposes a novel approach to orchestrate the next-generation 5G core running as Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs) closer to the edge network while offloading the computation power required to ensure on-demand processing to a central cloud infrastructure. In this manner, full service isolation and network segmentation can be achieved independently from the geographical region with a high degree of scalability. Our main objective is to automate the CNFs provisioning in a declarative API-style in order to easily manage the deployment of applications and services across multiple clusters. Therefore, in our setup we considered crucial to assess the benefits of running the 5G Service-Based Architecture (SBA) in the cloud with multi-tenancy capabilities and evaluate the performance in terms of latency, while keeping the network control at the edge.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Network Architectures and Service
Canine behaviour type index in experimental Units trial
We ran the present research in canine behaviour over 18 months, on the premises of Experimental infrastructure of Horia Cernescu Research Unit, under behaviour study project of animal lodging Research contract no. 4833 / September, 4, 2014. The study considered a 360 dogs group, data being extracted from our (March, 31, 2015 to July, 31, 2017) pet databases. The research is structured based on Canine Behaviour Type Index (CTBI) 12 types canine behaviour, considering three psychological interactive factors further itemized into (1) Environmental (either Organized or Spontaneous); (2) Social (Alpha, Beta, or Gamma);
(3) Motivation (either Medium or High), i.e. 12 possible outcomes. The breed type (χ2=818.59, at p < 0.000), age (F=9.31, at p < 0.001) and period of staying (F=3.185, at p ≤ 0.001) appear to be associated with CBTI. The older dogs resulted more like Dreamer (SBM) and Aristocrat (SAM) behaviour types, while younger more like Adventurer (SBH) and Rebel (SAH). Our study results cannot sustain gender association hypothesis based on CBTI profiles (χ2=17.31, at p = 0.099), suggesting, nevertheless, that CBTI is a useful tool in canine behaviour research, in matters of pets’ owners – research financed by private funds, win-win case

Hoop structure for wean to finish pigs: management and gender influence in a summer trial
The study was carried out in a hoop structure at the university’s Animal Experimental Unit. Twenty hybrid
barrows at 28 kg average body weight and 21 hybrid gilts with 27 kg were populated into two separate pens on 06 of
April 2016. The animals were kept in a hoop structure utilizing a deep bedded production system at ambient summer
conditions with natural ventilation for 97 days. No clinical heat stress signs were observed during the trial even though
the inside temperature was 19.95±0.07оC and the humidity index was 65.15±0.18 over an average of 7,389 inside and
outside environmental measurements. The inside temperature was higher (+0.78 оC at p < 0.000) and humidity index
was lower (-0.74% at p < 0.000) than outside measurements. There was a strong correlation between inside and outside
temperature (r = 0.984 at p < 0.01) and humidity index (r = 0.926 at p < 0.010). Animals were weighed twice per month
and they were scanned monthly for body fat and eye muscle depth and area. On 13 of April, at initiation of the experiment,
the body weight was 33±0.65 for 20 barrows vs. 31.9±0.59 for 19 gilts (p = 0.220) and at delivery to the slaughter house
the body weight was 114.25±1.74 kg and 108.71±2.13 kg (p = 0.049) respectively. During the entire wean-finish period
the average daily gain was 902.70±18.37 for barrows and 850.95±24.15 for gilts (p = 0.097) and feed conversion was
2.71 kg feed: kg live weight for barrows and 2.69 kg feed: kg live weight in gilts. The study is encouraging for the use of
deep bedded hoop structures on low input farms as a swine wean-finish management system during the Romanian
summer environment

Kubernetes cluster optimization using hybrid shared-state scheduling framework
This paper presents a novel approach for scheduling the workloads in a Kubernetes cluster, which are sometimes unequally distributed across the environment or deal with fluctuations in terms of resources utilization. Our proposal looks at a hybrid shared-state scheduling framework model that delegates most of the tasks to the distributed scheduling agents and has a scheduling correction function that mainly processes the unscheduled and unprioritized tasks. The scheduling decisions are made based on the entire cluster state which is synchronized and periodically updated by a master-state agent. By preserving the Kubernetes objects and concepts, we analyzed the proposed scheduler behavior under different scenarios, for instance we tested the failover/recovery behavior in a deployed Kubernetes cluster. Moreover, our findings show that in situations like collocation interference or priority preemption, other centralized scheduling frameworks integrated with the Kubernetes system might not perform accordingly due to high latency derived from the calculation of load spreading. In a wider context of the existing scheduling frameworks for container clusters, the distributed models lack of visibility at an upper-level scheduler might generate conflicting job placements. Therefore, our proposed scheduler encompasses the functionality of both centralized and distributed frameworks. By employing a synchronized cluster state, we ensure an optimal scheduling mechanism for the resources utilization.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Network Architectures and Service
