A letter from Veljko Džakula, May 1993
Uz dokument je priloženo kraće pojašnjenje okolnosti u kojima je nastao, odnosno upozoreno je na najvažnije dijeloveIn this paper, the author brings a transcription of a document from Western Slavonian history from the time of the Homeland war. It shows a certain chronology of actions by Veljko Džakula and his band and is meant for the presidents of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Serbia, Dobrica Ćosić and Slobodan Milošević. The document pertains to their actions during 1992 and the first several months of 1993 during which time that band came up as the supporter of an extremely limited negotiating process with Croatian authorities. Along with the document there is a brief clarification of the circumstances in which it was created i.e. only the most important information is contained withi
Phenotypical characteristics of peritoneal macrophages of two rat strains during inflammatory response: the importance of gut microbiota representatives
peritonealne šupljine Albino Oxford (AO) i Dark Agouti (DA) pacova tokom razvoja inflamatornog
probiotske bakterije Lactobacillus rhamnosus (L. rhamnosus).
stimulacija komensalnim bakterijama u makrofagima pacova AO soja. Tokom razvoja kolitisa
makrofagi DA pacova produkuju više IL-6 u odnosu na AO soj, a značajno manja smrtnost AO pacova
komensalnim bakterijama in vitro i višim nivoom antitela klase IgA specifičnih za E. coli u serumu. Rani
postnatalni oralni tretman bakterijom L. rhamnosus u DA pacovima povećava raznovrsnost
Bifidobacterium vrsta u fecesu, a nakon indukcije kolitisa u adultnom dobu smanjuje stepen ulceracije
kolona, povećava zastupljenost rezidentnih makrofaga peritonealne šupljine i suprimira povećanja
produkcije NO i IL-10 stimulisana komensalnim bakterijama in vitro.
bakterije L. rhamnosus. The subject of this doctoral dissertation is the study of changes in the phenotype and activity of
peritoneal cavity macrophages from Albino Oxford (AO) and Dark Agouti (DA) rats during the
development of inflammatory response induced by intestinal microbiota directly, intraperitoneally (i.p.),
or indirectly, through development of colitis, as well as study of the modulation of these changes using
the probiotic bacterium Lactobacillus rhamnosus (L. rhamnosus).
I.p. application of killed E. coli or Enterococcus spp. leads to a more pronounced inflammatory
polarization of the peritoneal cavity macrophages from DA rats compared the AO strain, while i.p.
application of L. rhamnosus has a greater potential to prevent functional changes caused by in vitro
stimulation with commensal bacteria in AO rat macrophages. During the development of colitis, DA
rat macrophages produce more IL-6 than the AO strain, and significantly lower AO rat mortality was
accompanied by more intense IL-10 production in macrophages in response to additional stimulation
with commensal bacteria in vitro and higher levels of IgA-class antibodies specific to E. coli in the serum.
Early postnatal oral treatment with L. rhamnosus in DA rats increased the diversity of Bifidobacterium
species in feces, and after induction of colitis in adulthood reduced the degree of colonic ulceration,
increased the presence of resident peritoneal cavity macrophages and suppressed the increased
production of NO and IL-10 stimulated by commensal bacteria .
The findings indicate the importance of genetically determined predisposition to a certain pattern of
macrophage activation for changes in phenotype and activity during the development of inflammatory
response induced by intestinal microbiota, as well as for modulation of these changes using probiotic
bacterium L. rhamnosus

ANONIMNI SVEDOCI I ZAŠTITA LjUDSKIH PRAVA
Тhe author deals with the problem of anonymous witnesses in the context of the right to a fair trial in the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights. One of the problems in the application of Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights is related to the testimonies of anonymous witnesses in criminal proceedings. The case law of the European Court of Human Rights has developed certain criteria that must be followed in national legislation, but it is obvious that there is insufficient knowledge regarding this problem, as well as the reluctance to apply the mentioned rules. The standards developed by the ECtHR are very important for national laws and jurisprudence. The author explains the development of a three-step test that needs to be examined when assessing a violation of the right to a fair trial, through an analysis of a multitude of judgments, in order to provide guidance on the application
of Article 6 § 3 (d) of the European Convention on Human Rights. After introductory considerations, the author explains who can be a witness under the Convention, since this question is raised independently of national legislation, and then explains the right to examine witnesses, the admissibility of testimonies by anonymous witnesses and the examination of the three-stage test, and gives concluding remarks.Publishe

The Contribution of Victor Zaslavsky to the Study of Soviet-type Societies
The author assesses the contribution of Victor Zaslavsky to the study of soviettype societies. Zaslavsky’s contribution is also positioned in the intelectual context of sovietology in the 1970’s. The author claims that Zaslavsky’s intimate knowledge of the Soviet system had enabled him to go beyond the limitations of the totalitarian, modernisation and interest-group based approaches to the study of Soviet politics. The crux of Zaslavsky’s original contribution is his development of new concepts which he applied to the study of Brezhnyev’s “real socialism”, such as neostalinist state, state dependent workers, closed enterprises, internal passport system. With the help of these concepts Zaslavsky was more successful in throwing light on the characteristcs of the mature soviet type societies than the proponents of other approaches
