GYSGT Michael Johnson enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in August 1993 at the time of this interview had been on active duty for more than 12 years. He is Military Occupational Specialty 0629 (MOS) Communications Chief, Rank E-7. Johnson has served with 1st Anglico/Camp Pendleton, as a drill instructor at Parris Island, with the 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company and as Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI) at VMI. GYSGT Johnson deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. This interview covers his experiences during the latter two operations and his early career
