ASSESSING THE FEEDING PREFERENCES OF THREE EARLY-SEASON INSECT HERBIVORES ACROSS SIX APPLE CULTIVARS
The overreliance on chemical controls in agricultural production has contributed to widespread insecticide resistance and the development of long-term health complications in humans, emphasizing the need for alternative pest management strategies. Trap cropping and habitat manipulation can be used as integrated pest management (IPM) techniques for insect monitoring and to attract pests to preferred host crops. This study investigated three early-season insect herbivores— including the rosy apple aphid (RAA), Dysaphis plantaginea (Hemiptera: Aphididae), green apple aphid (GAA), Aphis pomi (Hemiptera: Aphididae), and pear thrips Taeniothrips inconsequens (Thysanoptera)— which can cause significant damage to apple tree foliage and crop yields if left uncontrolled. Research was conducted across two Massachusetts orchards during the 2023 and 2024 growing seasons and focused on multi-cultivar grafted apple trees that contained six cultivars (Liberty, Red Astrachan, Ginger Gold, Dabinett, Wickson, and Yellow Transparent) and a Stock branch. Fruit clusters were randomly sampled per cultivar/tree and assessed for three biological parameters: insect incidence, abundance, and parasitism (2023 only, for RAA). The diversity of natural enemies was also recorded from 2023-2024. Results from 2023 revealed that Red Astrachan, Ginger Gold, and the Stock (the original cultivar present on the apple trees) were more attractive to RAA, while Wickson showed consistently higher infestations of GAA and pear thrips in 2024. These findings support the use of multi-cultivar grafted apple trees as part of an ECOstaking approach to insect pest monitoring on apple trees, with the potential to reduce chemical inputs by concentrating pest pressure in targeted areas.Master of Science (M.S.)2026-05-1
A Policy Analysis of the Effectiveness of Tobacco and Vaping Legislation in Adolescents and Adults in New York State
This policy analysis ascertained the effectiveness of tobacco and vaping legislation in adolescents and adults in New York State (NYS). The analysis discussed the Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Act (ATUPA), which is a tobacco policy aimed at tobacco prevention among adolescents and young adults. A detailed approach was conducted with collected data on tobacco and vaping statistics, including NYS smoking rates, morbidity and mortality rates, and prevalence in both adults and adolescents. Data were collected from the NYS Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and others. The socioecological and CDC Policy Analysis Frameworks were used to guide this analysis. In addition, a literature review and an environmental scan were conducted. Although several successful tobacco policies exist in NYS, increased legislation and funding are needed to continue current tobacco control efforts. The analysis provided insights into the strengths and weaknesses of the current policies. It explored potential areas of policy enhancement to address challenges. Efforts to continue increasing the price of tobacco and vaping products are needed. Revenues from these increases would be used to support additional tobacco control programs. There is also a need to extend regulations limiting tobacco and vaping product availability and accessibility, especially near schools. The analysis aims to inform stakeholders regarding strategies to improve public health outcomes. These recommendations could have a lasting impact on tobacco and vaping product usage rates and overall community health.

یہودی اور رومی تہذیبی کشمکش کا تحقیقی جائزہ A Research Review of the Jewish-Roman Civilization Conflict
Abstract
The Jewish civilization has preserved its religious identity and traditions despite suffering for millennia. However, this war against the Greek civilization was unsuccessful since the Greek civilization adopted the characteristics of the Roman civilization. The influence of Greek civilization was so great that even after the Romans defeated them militarily, the Greeks incorporated them into the aesthetic of their own civilization. As slaves in Roman society in the first century AD, Jews were heavily impacted by both the Hellenistic and Roman cultures, and many of them also converted to the Hellenistic religion. Despite embracing the Greek culture that the Romans brought, the Jews fought Roman control for a long time. The Romans suppressed the Jewish uprising and demolished the Temple in Jerusalem, putting an end to the Jews' resistance. In this paper, it has been studied how did the civilizational conflict between the Jews and the Romans continue and how did it end

Managing diversity and gender equality in the workplace
Now a day’s world is growing globalization which require more interaction among people from the diverse range of backgrounds (Green et al., n.d.). Diversity management is a method which is intended to create and helps to maintain a positive work environment where similarities and differences of people are respected and valued (Patrick and Kumar, 2012). The literature on diversity management has mostly emphasized on organization performance and organizational context of diversity related pressures, expectation, requirements and organizational outcomes in managing employee diversity and related issues (Patrick and Kumar, 2012). Diversity and equality are interconnected to each other; the main objectives of diversity and gender equality is every individual have set of rights, opportunity and fair treatment in the workplace (Diversity Inc, 2016). Moreover, the objective of the author is to highlight the importance of managing diversity and equality in the workplace. Organization capabilities to welcome managing diversity and equality (Sharma, 2016). It describes the benefits of learning policies and procedures which will ensure that an organization is optimizing the best learning capacity in the workplace (Moss, 2010). Whereas, working in diverse group or team help in achieving the goals and objectives of the workplace. The diverse workforce provide organization with competitive advantage and enhance organizational adaptability to accept change in the organization (Zanoni et al., 2010). Diversity and gender equality which define as giving equal rights to all men and women who shares the same workplace. The working style of men and women are different, but they can come with different innovative ideas and perspective at a same point. To implementing diversity; organization has faced many challenges which should be overcome to implement effective diversity in the workplace. Diversity can be improving employee performance and organization effectiveness. However, it is difficult to manage diverse work population which involves recognizing the value of differences, promote inclusiveness and battling with discrimination (Green et al., n.d.). And the challenges faced by women in the workplace. The study concludes that successful managing diversity can leads to better satisfied, more committed and better performance of the organization and would be helpful for producing an effective output (Patrick and Kumar, 2012). The study is focusing on the questions why and how a managing diversity and equality can improve the performance of any workplace. What could be the potential benefits of managing diversity in any workplace. What are challenges faced by women in the workplace. To answer these questions, author has chosen this research topic:

Sakuntala Narasimhan. Empowering Women: An Alternative Strategy from Rural India. New Delhi: Sage Publications, 1999. Indian Rupees 195.00. (Paperback). 236pp.
The positive role of women in economic development cannot be
understated; those that are educated and properly empowered can act as
catalysts in the development process. This book is about how to empower
women so that they can become independent and self-sustaining actors in
development. The conventional wisdom is that womens’ empowerment depends
on following a simple strategy—alleviate poverty by spending large
amounts of money. Having followed this strategy in the past the author
feels that it has been far from successful. Monetary inputs by itself is
not a sufficient condition to assist women in improving their status.
The author puts forward an alternate view that the reasons why women are
disadvantaged in India, despite fifty years of development, is due to
their ignorance, powerlessness and vulnerability. This is particularly
so for those women who belong to the Scheduled Castes (Harijans) and
Scheduled Tribes (Girijans or “mountain people”)
A computational model for inventory management and planning
The objective of the study is to determine the factors of the optimal level of merchandizing inventory. The study is based on a mathematical model. The results revealed some interesting findings. The most important conclusion is that the 'Usage of Material' or the Sales Volume is not the real determinate of the inventory volume. It is concluded in the model that the volume of inventories depends on the difference between the return on investment in the inventories and the rate of interest on short-term deposits. The traditional methods in cost accounting - Buffer Stock and Economic Order Quantity - have been reconciled with the profit maximization hypothesis.Inventory Control; Economic Order Quantity; Buffer Stock; Baumoul's Model; Optimization; Material Cost Accounting

Role of sacral neuromodulation in modern urogynaecology practice: a review of recent literature.
Author(s) Pre or Post Print Version OnlySacral neuromodulation (SNM) offers promise in the therapy of many pelvic floor disorders. This innovative treatment has slowly gained popularity. A review of recent literature is presented in relation to its efficacy and complications in various pelvic floor conditions: overactive bladder and urge urinary incontinence, chronic urinary retention, painful bladder syndrome, pelvic pain and double incontinence. It is a minimally invasive, completely reversible safe procedure with good long-term outcomes. However, the treatment is costly, the revision rate is high and patients require life-long follow-up. SNM should always be considered in suitable patients before offering bladder augmentation procedures or urinary diversion or permanent catheterization for bladder dysfunction. SNM should also be considered in patients with double incontinence, after discussion in a urogynaecology/colorectal multidisciplinary team
SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF INVENTORIES AND ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
The study presents a model based on 3,375 observations from industrial firms in Pakistan, and the Three-Stage Least Square (3SLS) technique has been applied for the estimation. The results indicate that the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) of inventories is not a constant magnitude; it is a variable closely associated with 'time trend'. While the ‘buffer stock’ element can be estimated through the constant term of an equation. Receivables from customers show a negative correlation with liquid assets and the cost of production. Receivables are also shown to act as substitute for closing inventories.3SLS; Inventory Control; Economic Order Quantity; Buffer Stock
