THE 18-O CHILEAN UPRISING AND THE MAKING OF TRANSNATIONAL POLITICAL IDENTITIES
This work focuses on the Chilean uprising of October 2019, and briefly characterizes its events. However, the core interest is to observe and question the international impact and everyday transnational features of this movement. Drawing on G. Schiller’s thoughts and combining them with transnational social movements’ scholarship, the analysis develops around two key axes. On the one hand, it charts mainly indirect diffusion through the spread of ideas and practices that travelled from Chile (and from Latin America) and grew to become embedded in social movements worldwide. On the other hand, it offers an ethnographic account of the transnational networks that have mobilized in support of this struggle in Italy, with particular attention paid to Chileans abroad. In this way, our work highlights the parallel movement from everyday transnational experiences to the formation of transnational political identities, and from shared political identities to transnational daily interactions. By exploring the interplay between different diffusion mechanisms, this case study contributes to the discussion of the role of political agency in shaping diffusion dynamics, and offers new insights into the construction of transnational collective identities

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical presentation and the surgical procedures of ovarian lesions in a large group of girls. Materials and Methods: The medical records of all girls with ovarian lesions admitted to 2 pediatric centers over a 9-year period were reviewed. Presenting symptoms, diagnostic studies, surgical procedure and pathological findings were analyzed. Results: A total of 104 pediatric patients with 111 ovarian lesions(7 girls presented bilateral pathology)were reviewed. The average age was 13,7 years(range: 3 months - 18 years). The most common presenting symptom was abdominal pain(73 cases-65,7%). All girls underwent trans-abdominal US; in 29(26,1%), trans-vaginal US was also performed. Twenty-three(20,7%)required abdominal CT or MRI. Laparoscopy was used in 40(36%); conservative, open or mini-invasive, surgery was possible in 48 cases(43,2%).Pathology showed non neoplastic lesions in 60(54%), follicular cysts(FC)in 33 and hemorrhagic corpus luteum cyst(HCLC)in 27; benign tumors were 47(42,3%)while 5 cases were malignant(4,5%). Twenty cases(18,1%)were treated in emergency; we found 8 HCLC and 7 FC, 3 teratomas and 2 twisted normal ovaries. All patients, except one with yolk-sac tumor, are alive and disease-free. Conclusions: Our experience confirms that often pediatric ovarian lesions present with complications (torsion or rupture)requiring treatment in emergency and extensive surgery. This is the reason why they need to be suspected in any girl who presents abdominal pain, a pelvic or abdominal mass or gynecological endocrine disorders so to allow, whenever possible, conservative surgery to minimize the risk of decreased fertility

Magnetic resonance imaging of the anatomy of the parotid gland
Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the anatomy of the parotid gland.
In this work are been examined the parotid gland of 30 patients (20 male, 10 female) o/ this eighteen voluntary and 12 arrived at our observation /or SNC pathology.
It is been used as a superconductive magnet Philips 'gyroscan' at 1,5 T with head coi! by 35 cm and supeificial and circular coil by 20 cm. The multiplanar scan was executed with TR = 700-2000 ms and TE = 30-90 ms. The RM is been shown very accurate in the anatomic study o/ the parotid gland that appear o/ signal modest hyperintensity in the Tl -weighted images and hyperintense in the T2-weighted images

On the Evaluation of Solar Greenhouse Efficiency in Building Simulation during the Heating Period
Among solar passive systems integrated in buildings, sunspaces or solar greenhouses represent a very interesting solution. A sunspace is a closed, southbound volume, constituted by transparent surfaces, adjacent to a building, which reduces winter energy demand thanks to the use of solar gains. The effect of a typical solar greenhouse on the energy balance of a building was evaluated during the heating period with two stationary procedures (Method 5000 and EN ISO 13790) and with a dynamic tool (TRNSYS). After the analysis of the greenhouse alone, the behavior of an entire house was simulated; a flat equipped with a sunspace, recently built thanks to public contributions provided by the Umbria Region in Italy to widespread bio-climatic architecture, was used as case-study. Simulations were carried out for the examined flat, both with a steady-state tool and with a dynamic one; the contribution of the sunspace was estimated thanks to the various methods previously mentioned. Finally, the simulated data were satisfactorily compared with the real energy consumptions (natural gas for heating) of the flat; the sunspace allows a reduction of winter energy demand of the flat of about 20%
