Researchers and Narrators (Stanko Vraz, Đuro Deželić, Vinko Žganec − among the Croats in Hungary)
Muzikolog Vinko Žganec proveo je nekoliko zimskih dana 1958. godine među Hrvatima u okolici Nagykanizse i objavio knjigu o njihovoj usmenoj pjesmi. Trideset godina nakon toga autorica pokušava utvrditi repertoar kazivača-pjevača istih ovih kajkavskih sela, imajući u vidu slijedeće okolnosti: dugotrajnu (ne)mogućnost komuniciranja s pripadnicima srodnog dijalektalnog idioma u Hrvatskoj; postojanje Žgančeve publikacije (dolazi li do povratne informacije?); suvremeni repertoar pjesama i okolnost da je u međuvremenu proradila tzv.“kulturnoumjetnička aktivnost”.The musicologist Vinko Žganec spent several winter days in 1958 among the Croats around Nagykanizse and published a book on their songs. Thirty years later, the author attempted to establish the repertoire of the informants-singers in the same kajkavian villages, keeping in mind: the long period when communication was (im)possible with speakers of related dialect idioms in Croatia; the existence of Žganec's publication (is there a feedback of information); the contemporary repertoire of songs, and the circumstance that in the meantime so-called “cultural-artistic” activities have developed
Against the current – Vinko Krišković as a political philosopher
Sveučilišni profesor upravnog prava, političar, šekspirolog i esejist Vinko Krišković (Senj, 1861. Professor of administrative law at the University of Zagreb, politician, essayist and first Croatian member of the Royal Shakespeare Society Vinko Krišković (Senj 1861 - Zurich 1952) dealt in some of his works with the topic of political philosophy. He was an advocate of liberal positions inspired by English authors and English political practice. Krišković is relatively unknown in the Croatian political and intellectual history, i.a. because he opposed all the political options present in Yugoslavia and Croatia in the first half of the 19th century (integral Yugoslavism, Peasant Party populism, totalitarian Ustasha movement, Yugoslav Communism). The author offers possible answers to the questions to what extent did Krišković find the arguments needed to resist these political options in philosophy and whether his case is in any measure relevant for the current issues and controversies

Featured topic: A silent judge of art – friar Vinko Fulgencije Fugošić (1916–2003) - Summary
The fact is that it has been too little said, written, or rather thought about uncle friar, i.e. Vinko Fugošić, a Franciscan, an artist and a travel writer. He himself appreciated the silence and didn’t let himself get carried away by titles, achievements and performances. Nevertheless, the man, who has left his mark by brush, pen or word in virtually every church and chapel on the island of Krk as well as in many other sacred constructions throughout the Adriatic area, deserves something more than just silence. He was the silent type, he was an artist, passing judgments only and just in the field of art – which earned him his another name: a silent judge of art. Friar Vinko Fulgencije Fugošić (Gostinjac, 19th July 1916 – Crikvenica, 2nd August 2003) was known to broader public mainly as a visual artist, a master of portraits and landscapes, the author of ideas for numerous church interiors, finally as a (travel) writer. Therefore, in this set of featured articles Tomislav Galović and Perica Dujmović deal with his figure and work from the scholarly perspective whereas Gordana Gržetić depicts friar Vinko solely as a human being as seen through testimonies and memories. In addition to an outline of friar Vinko’s life and work, the following pages offer also lesser known details from his childhood, youth and the environment he grew up in, and memories of individuals who had shared this and that period of his life with him
Vinko Globokar’s Atemstudie for solo oboe: Analysis and performance guide
This thesis provides an analysis and performance guide to Vinko Globokar’s solo oboe work Atemstudie. As both of Globokar’s oboe works—Discours III for five oboes (1969) and Atemstudie for solo oboe (1971)—were written for Heinz Holliger, and composed in close proximity, I will elucidate their relationship with an overview of Discours III. While current scholarship provides analyses of some of Globokar’s works, as well as his thoughts on improvisation, no such analysis exists for Atemstudie or its treatment of the oboe. My interviews with Globokar regarding these topics will expand upon the currently available scholarship contributing otherwise unwritten experiences and performance expectations. With a greater understanding of Vinko Globokar and the historical context of these works, the intent and spirit of his compositions can be more fully realized.U of I Only Restriction set for Item 97137 on 2016-11-21T20:14:14Z with date by [email protected] by David Butler ([email protected]) on 2016-11-21T20:20:09Z

The essayism of Vinko Ošlak
Začnem s kratkim terminološkim pojasnilom o eseju in esejistiki, nadaljujem z avtorjevimi esejističnimi premišljevanji o kulturi in (nad)naravi, jeziku in narodu, esperantu kot Ošlakovi privilegirani temi, bistvu človeka in ekumensko odprtem krščanstvu. Sklenem z razmišljanjem o Ošlakovi esejistiki kot času neprimerni. Pri tem opozorim na širino avtorjevega miselnega horizonta in bogastvo avtorskega pristopa, v avtorjevi esejistiki pa prepoznam dragocen in samosvoj priklic pogosto že pozabljene vizije, namreč odprtosti v prihodnost in presežnost. The dissertation is an attempt of discussing the essayism of Vinko Ošlak thematically, as well as in terms of its content. I have focused on several thematic units which I find to be constitutive parts of the author\u27s essayism, for that reason or another. I begin my dissertation by briefly explaining the terminology of the essay and essayism as such and continue with the author\u27s essayistic contemplations on culture and (transcending the) nature, language and nation, Esperanto - Ošlak\u27s privileged topic, the essence of man and the ecumenically open Christianity. I conclude my dissertation by pondering on Ošlak\u27s essayism as untimely, by pointing out the broadness of the author\u27s "mental horizon" and the richness of his authorial approach. As far as Ošlak\u27s essayism is concerned, in it I recognize a valuable and individual recall of what is often a long forgotten vision - the openness to the future and transcendence
The reflection of erotic poetry written by Vinko Möderndorfer
Diplomsko delo poskuša osvetliti pesniški opus in ustvarjanje enega izmed vodilnih sodobnih ljubezenskih lirikov, Vinka Möderndorferja.
The diploma focuses on love poetry of the »oeuvre« of Vinko Möderndorfer, one of the most important contemporary Slovene poets. He is one of the most popular and influential poets in the field of love and erotic poetry. The author has published seventeen poetry volumes and is equally important as a playwright and novelist. He has received several awards for his literary work. His work is translated into several languages.
The diploma starts with a short introduction of the history of Slovene poetry in the romantic period and continues analyzing the modern Slovene poetry of the 20th century which is also important as a context for Möderndorfer’s poetics. One of the dimensions of the diploma is dedicated to the theoretical reflection of the erotic poetry. The research offers a choice of twenty-three authors who marked the development of the Slovene erotic poetry. The last and crucial part of the diploma focuses on the features of the erotic poetry written by Vinko Möderndorfer
The Poetry of Vinko Kos (from previously unknown manuscripts)
Ovim se radom predstavlja dio rezultata višegodišnjeg istraživanja književnog djela hrvatskog književnika Vinka Kosa (1914. - 1945.). As its title implies, this paper deals with listing and evaluating newly-discovered poetical manuscripts (poetry: Poems 1936, Hills in Blossom, Moment Easy to Understand, Individual Poems - which are just a part of a series of unpublished works) left behind by the Croatian writer Vinko Kos (1914 - 1945), whose tragic life and works, due to unfavorable social and political circumstances, have been neglected and kept secret until recently. Mostly a poet, a children's author and an educator, but also a short-story writer, a travel writer and a dramatist - Vinko Kos was a victim of the tragic war events. His life ended violently at the age of 31, most probably in one of the camps set up in the period of the Bleiburg tragedy in 1945. As a young and promising author, he established himself in Croatian literature in the period between 1938 and 1945. During that short period, he published four collections of poems (Waterfall, Sculptor, Bat, and Lada) and a travel book. He also wrote a few books of children's poems and stories. In order to get a clear picture of the author and his poetic work (published and unpublished), the paper includes some general contextual considerations of literary tendencies and practical literary models during the 1930s and the 1940s. The poetry written by Kos is characterized by the poetics of romantic-sentimental, modernist (symbolist and impressionist) expression, relying on experience derived from Catholic (religious and metaphysical) poetry and the tradition of modern classics of world literature of a similar cast of mind. Some of his manuscript poems are incomplete and/or weaker, and just one book (Hills in Blossom) and a few individual poems are articulate and finished. These poems, relevant in terms of their aesthetic values, certainly deserve to be added to the already published pieces by Kos, thus finally putting the name and the work of Vinko Kos on the map of Croatia literature in the first half of the 20th century
Vinko Jelić in Ivan Lukačić: migrantska glasbenika med Mediteranom in srednjo Evropo v projektu MusMig in njegovi podatkovni zbirki
The author presents phases in the work on the database within the European HERA project Music Migrations in the Early Modern Age: the Meeting of the European East, West and South (2013–2016), illustrated by two case studies from the Croatian lands. Vinko Jelić from Rijeka and Ivan Lukačić from Šibenik were contemporaries of the Parnassus Musicus Ferdinandaeus generation but their output was not included in the anthology. The data on their life, education and work was entered in the database, as well as data on 3500 other European musicians investigated in the MusMig project. On the basis of the search results, their timelines and possible encounters with other musicians are outlined. Podatki o njunem življenju, izobrazbi in delu so bili priobčeni v podatkovni zbirki projekta MusMig skupaj s tistimi o drugih 3500 tovrstnih evropskih glasbenikih. Rezultati iskanja po zbirki omogočajo vpogled v njuni časovnici in možne stike z drugimi glasbeniki
