Labour market policies for inclusiveness. A literature review with a gap analysis
The COVID-19 pandemic triggered renewed interest in the use of different fiscal spending and transfer programmes to address the worsening conditions and deepening inequalities within the labour markets.
This paper reviews the role of specific fiscal spending and transfer programmes in shaping labour market dynamics by disentangling different macroeconomic and microeconomic mechanisms. The paper pre- sents the recent empirical evidence on the topic in an attempt to abstract several empirical regularities and identify research gaps. The analysis also highlights gaps in the literature and suggests how future research could fill these gaps
Fiscal policy instruments for inclusive labor markets. A review
This paper critically reviews fiscal policy instruments—including active labor market policies, social protection measures, care
policies, and tax reforms—focusing on their differentiated impacts on underrepresented groups and their potential to foster labor
market inclusivity. Our review reveals that empirical studies often overemphasize the capacity of individual policies to mitigate
inequalities, neglecting the complex interdependencies among various mechanisms and policies. Instead, we argue for a systematic
approach to ensure equitable access to good jobs and address disparities across labor market groups. Although sector-specific
training and reskilling are essential, their effects often take time to materialize, highlighting the necessity of complementary labor
demand measures, such as public works schemes, and employment subsidies, to address immediate challenges and promote
inclusive growth. Care policies remain central to improving female labor market participation by alleviating their unpaid care
burdens. The review also identifies critical research gaps, including the need for longitudinal studies on long-term policy impacts,
an exploration of regional disparities in labor market inequalities, and sector-specific effects of fiscal measures

Molecular mechanisms regulating induction of interleukin-6 gene transcription by interferon-gamma.
The multifunctional cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) plays a central role in host defence mechanisms and hematopoiesis. Furthermore, dysregulation of IL-6 gene expression is associated with the pathogenesis of various immunologically related diseases such as myeloma, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and Kaposi's sarcoma. The regulation of IL-6 gene expression occurs mainly at transcriptional level, although mechanisms of posttranscriptional regulation have also been described. In the present study we demonstrate that in HeLa cells, induction of IL-6 by interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is transcriptionally controlled, as shown by run on assays and analysis of the IL-6 mRNA stability. Gel-retardation experiments using antibodies specific for factors of the IRF family identified four protein-DNA complexes, which bind to the interferon regulatory factor (IRF) binding site at position -267 to -254, in nuclear extracts from IFN-gamma treated cells. Furthermore, transient transfection analyses of the 5'-flanking region of IL-6 gene linked to the chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) reporter gene demonstrated that the -267 to -254 IRF site is necessary for IL-6 induction by IFN-gamma. However, transfection experiments in which IRF-1 and I-kappa-B-alpha were overexpressed show that full-scale transcriptional activation of the IL-6 promoter directing CAT expression requires the co-operation between IRF-1 and NF-kappa-B at a low constitutive level
Infanzie apocrife.
Starting from the volume of Rossana Barcellona, the Author reflects on the relationship between childhood and Apocrypha, both in relation to two particular and, in a certain sense, "mythical" characters as Jesus and Mary, both in relation to the ancient conceptions of childhood. Following the successive rewritings of certain Apocrypha also allows us to highlight between East and West some very significant cultural passages and change

Monetary policy and fiscal stimulus with the zero lower bound and financial frictions
Recent developments in many industrialized countries have triggered a debate on whether monetary policy is effective when the nominal interest rate is close to zero. When the nominal interest rate hits its lower bound, the monetary authority is no longer in a position to pursue a policy of monetary easing by lowering nominal interest rates further. In this paper, I assess the implications of the zero lower bound in a DSGE model with financial frictions. The analysis shows that in a framework with financial frictions, when the interest rate is at the lower bound, the initial impact of a negative shock is amplified and the economy is more likely to plunge into a recession. I assess whether different macro policies, such as the management of expectations by the central bank or a counter-cyclical fiscal stimulus, may help recover the economy from the recession. I find that the monetary authority might alleviate the recession by targeting the price-level. Fiscal stimulus represents an alternative solution especially when the zero lower bound constraint becomes binding, as fiscal multipliers may become larger than one. In analyzing discretionary fiscal policy, this paper also focuses on two crucial aspects: the duration of the fiscal stimulus and the presence of implementation lags
In Grecia una biblioteca mobile porta i servizi tra i rifugiati
Preceded by some reflections by the author on the circumstances of culture and libraries under at-tack or neglected, in history and nowadays, because of their role as enhancers for freedom, equality and empowerment, the article, then, proposes an interview with the volunteers who run the ECHO Refugee Library in Greece. This is a mobile library that every day brings books, learning opportuni-ties and children’s activities to the thousands of refugees who live in camps in Greece, mainly after getting stuck there in consequence of the EU-Turkey Deal in 2016
Scienza aperta: una rivoluzione incompiuta. Considerazioni a margine del libro di Roberto Caso
Starting from the recently published book La rivoluzione incompiuta: la scienza aperta tra diritto d’autore e proprietà intellettuale, which collects five essays by Roberto Caso, professor of comparative law at the University of Trento, the article faces some of the main issues in scholarly communication. Caso examines the key points of the constantly evolving topics involved, with a particular emphasis on Italy, and to them the author of the article adds her considerations, covering current systems for research evaluation, bibliometrics, open access, copyright and the role of academic libraries
Acquisizioni tramite approval plan: outsourcing o nuova opportunità per i bibliotecari?
Based on the experience of the author with acquisitions on approval plan in an Italian academic library, the article explains in detail what is and how it works an approval plan, examining the pros and cons, and comparing it with standing orders and blanket orders. Approval plans are considered a case of outsourcing materials selection, anyway they can be a valuable tool in Italian libraries for librarians to rethink this activity which is often neglected or done by others, like teaching faculty. Also the article goes through prospects of approval plans in collection developmen
