Taziyeh : history, form and contemporary relevance
The intention of preparing this thesis is an examination of Taziyeh, the
passion play in Iran which appeared initially as part of the observance of Ashura for
the sake of the commemoration of Imam Hussein and his family. Taziyeh as a
part of the religious observance of Shiite Muslims exists in iran and different
Islamic countries.
Taziyeh during the course of centuries found a form of religious drama
which made it feasible to be performed on other occasions than the Muharram
ceremonies. The realisation of the existence of dramatic features and the
appearance of several different types of Taziyeh, tragic and comic, created a
ground for its existence to arouse the interest of travellers to Iran during the period
of the last two centuries and Iranian and non-Iranian dramatists and schotars of the
present century. These accounts and views first allow us to find the evidence for
the date of the development of Taziyeh and second to assess the contemporary
scholarly comments on the dramatic values of the Taziyeh. In this way Taziyeh
has been found comparable with Greek, Medieval and Modem Drama.
The Historical, Mythical and legendary grounds of the Taziyeh have
been taken into consideration in this study in order to gain access to the true
roots of the Taziyeh in the old land of Iran while the lack of a place for Taziyeh
in Persian literature will become clear.
The final part has been devoted to establishing the actual position of
Taziyeh after the Islamic revolution in Iran by looking at the function of Taziyeh
in Iranian society, theology and religious observance to-day. I have put my
stress on an argument for a purifying of the Taziyeh to make it function more
effectively in Iranian society

Wavelet-based acoustic emission characterization of residual strength of drilled composite materials
Drilling composite materials is one of the secondary processes of manufacturing industrial structures. However, drilling composite materials presents a number of problems such as degradation of mechanical behavior. In this study, effects of spindle speed, feed rate, and drill point geometry on residual tensile strength are studied. Acoustic emission technique with a wavelet-based signal processing method is developed to monitor the residual tensile strength of drilled laminates.
Cumulative count, amplitude, and energy are used as time-domain parameters to characterize the process. According to wavelet analysis, frequency distribution and energy percentage of each damage mechanism (matrix cracking, fiber breakage, and fiber slipping) during tensile test are determine

Ecriture au feminin par procuration : Pierre de patience d'Atiq Rahimi
The author proposes a feminist interpretation of Pierre de patience, a novel by the afghan francophone writer Atiq Rahimi. He sees it as a francophone text come from elsewhere, as world literature, but also as a message and hope for our time and for gender equality
THE LURE OF THE IMAGE KEBOHONGAN PADA NARASI PEREMPUAN DALAM SYNGUE SABOUR PIERRE DE PATIENCE KARYA ATIQ RAHIMI
This study aims to determine the position of the author in women narration. With Rahimi’s background as a feminist, he said that with his novel he voiced the voices of Afghan women. Rahimi offered a strong female figure in the middle of the patriarchal shackles who is able to fight the system. The problem of this study is Rahimi’s ambiguity in narrating women. To determine the position of the author, the research uses the concept of the lure of the image belongs to Lidia Curti. The lure of the image is an offer provided by the author to give positions to women that are in fact not provided by them. Based on the research conducted, the results show that Rahimi keeps women as objects in a patriarchal world. In this case he is not able to pull the women out of the patriarchal zone. The space given to women by Rahimi reinforces male power. What Rahimi written in this novel is the lure of the image according to Curti’s concept which explains it as an image of women given by author or known as female gaze
Deep structure of the Alborz Mountains by joint inversion of P receiver functions and dispersion curves
The Alborz Mountains represent a tectonically and seismically active convergent boundary in the Arabia – Eurasia collision zone, in western Asia. The orogenic belt has undergone a long-lasted tectono-magmatic history since the Cretaceous. The relationship between shallow and deep structures in this complex tectonic domain is not straightforward. We present a 2D velocity model constructed by the assemblage of 1D shear wave velocity (Vs) models from 26 seismic stations, mainly distributed along the southern flank of the Alborz Mountains. The shear wave velocity structure has been estimated beneath each station using joint inversion of P-waves receiver functions and Rayleigh wave dispersion curves. A substantiation of the Vs inversion results sits on the modeling of Bouguer gravity anomaly data. Our velocity and density models show low velocity/density anomalies in uppermost mantle of western and central Alborz at a depth range of ∼50–100 km. In deeper parts of the up- permost mantle (depth range of 100–150 km), a high velocity/density anomaly is located beneath most of the Mountain range. The spatial pattern of these low and high velocity/density structures in the upper mantle is interpreted as the result of post collisional delamination of lower part of the western and central Alborz lithosphere
Neo-deterministic seismic hazard assessment for Alborz Region, Iran
Seismic hazard maps for Alborz region (north of Iran) and adjacent areas are prepared using the neo-deterministic seismic hazard assessment (NDSHA) based on the computation of synthetic seismograms at the regional scale. The study area is zoned according to different geophysical structural models delimited at the surface by polygons, used to define the mechanical properties of the source-site paths. We have refined the velocity structures of Iran, as obtained from surface waves tomography, to obtain the velocity structure of Alborz region by applying the joint inversion of the P-wave receiver functions (PRF) and surface wave's dispersion. The input data set consists of attenuation-velocity structural models (representing bedrock conditions), seismogenic zones, focal mechanisms and the catalog of past seismicity. The seismic hazard, expressed in terms of maximum displacement (PGD), maximum velocity (PGV) and design ground acceleration (DGA), is extracted from the synthetic seismograms and mapped on a regular grid of 0.2° × 0.2° over the entire region. The results of this first order NDSHA zoning indicate a high seismic hazard in the Alborz region and may represent an important knowledge basis towards detailed and comprehensive seismic microzonation studies
