Dual-PEEC Modeling of a Two-Port TEM Cell for VHF Applications

    No full text
Two-port TEM cells with rectangular cross section are commonly used to produce plane electromagnetic waves with high electric field. The non-uniform structure makes the use of numerical methods extremely useful in the design phase in order to achieve a very good behavior of the TEM cell over a wide frequency range of operation. In this paper an extended version of PEEC is used to study a real device and results are compared with experimental ones

A realizability semantics for inductive formal topologies, church’s thesis and axiom of choice

    No full text
We present a Kleene realizability semantics for the intensional level of the Minimalist Foundation, for short mTT, extended with inductively generated formal topologies, the formal Church’s thesis and axiom of choice. This semantics is an extension of the one used to show the consistency of the intensional level of the Minimalist Foundation with the axiom of choice and the formal Church’s thesis in the work by Ishihara, Maietti, Maschio, Streicher [Arch.Math.Logic,57(7-8):873-888,2018]. A main novelty here is that such a semantics is formalized in a constructive theory as Aczel’s constructive set theory CZF extended with the regular extension axiom

Semi-active carbon and aromatics produced by pyrolysis of scrap tires

    No full text
Very promising results have been obtained in pyrolysis experiments carried out in a sieve-tray reactor, of our design, in the temperature range 400-700° C, employing a suitable gas stream in order to rapidly remove the pyrolysis products from the reactor and at the same time to activate the char. By pyrolysis of shredded rubber from scrap tires 36-38% of activated carbon, 49-38% of oil products and 15-30% of gas were obtained. The pyrolysis carbon shows specific adsorption, towards dyes for industrial uses, which seems higher than those of commercial active carbon and yields adsorption isotherms with a usual slope. The oils are characterized by high aromatic hydrocarbons and low sulphur contents (0.6% with nitrogen as a carrier gas, 0.2% with carbon dioxide); they could be used as plasticizers for rubber. The pyrolysis gases (mainly methane, hydrogen, ethylene, hydrogen sulphide) have a heat value of 6.000-7.000 kcal m-3. The paper describes results that were obtained in pyrolysis experiments carried out in a sieve-tray reactor in the temperature range 400-700 degree C, employing a suitable gas stream in order to rapidly remove the pyrolysis products from reactor and at the same time to activate the char. By pyrolysis of shredded rubber from scrap tires 36-38% of activated carbon, 49-38% of oil products and 15-30% of gas were obtained

L'INIBIZIONE DI REAZIONE PER LA PREVENZIONE DI REAZIONI FUGGITIVE IN PROCESSI INDUSTRIALI.

    No full text

    Medioevo maschio?

    No full text

PYROLYSIS, A PROMISING ROUTE FOR BIOMASS UTILIZATION

    No full text
The pyrolysis of biomass is a thermal treatment which results in the production of char, liquid and gaseous products. In this laboratory the pyrolysis process has been studied experimentally using apparatus of different scales. In particular, the influence of the main process parameters on the yields and characteristics of the products has been investigated. On the basis of these results the differences between convertional and fast pyrolysis can be discussed. The most attractive product of conventional pyrolysis is charcoal, as the handling and use of bio-oil presents some problems due to its characteristics. The pyrolysis gas is a medium BTU gas and can be easily burnt. Fast pyrolysis minimizes charcoal production. This process gives as the main product a high yield of a medium BTU gas rich in hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The feasibility of the process on an industrial scale is discusse
