No full textThe octave queueing package is a collection of functions written in GNU Octave for analyzing queueing Network models. In particular, qnetworks contains functions for analyzing Jackson networks, open, closed or mixed product-form BCMP networks, and for computing performance bounds. libsvm_cbe: LIBSVM for the CELL processor
No full textThis software is a modified version of LIBSVM which takes advantage of
the CELL processor. LIBSVM is written by Chih-Chung Chang and Chih-Jen
Lin, and implements training and classification algorithms for Support
Vector Machines. The original version of LIBSVM can be downloaded from
http://www.csie.ntu.edu.tw/~cjlin/libsvm/
libsvm_cbe was written by Moreno Marzolla, based on LIBSVM version
2.89. libsvm_cbe takes advantage of CELL Synergistic Processing
Elements (SPEs) to offload the most computationally intensive task,
that is the computation of the kernel function during the training
step.
libsvm_cbe has been compiled and tested on a Sony PlayStation(R)3
console running Yellow Dog Linux version 5.0; it is not necessary to
install IBM's Cell SDK, as libsvm_cbe only uses tools and libraries
which are already provided by the Yellow Dog Linux
distribution. libsvm_cbe has also been succesfully cross-compiled on a
Linux machine running Ubuntu 9.04/x86

"El gran surubí" de Pedro Mairal: un análisis intertextual
No full textThis article presents a study of the intertextual relationships which Pedro Mairal’s "El gran surubí" establishes with some Argentinian and Anglo-American literary works, as well as with the production of the author himself. Our work starts with a formal analysis of the text, underlining its compositional peculiarities (it consists of a series of sixty sonnets) and the connections with Mairal’s "Pornosonetos", which have the same rhyme scheme and whose fictional author, the pseudonymous Ramón Paz, coincides with the protagonist of "El gran surubí". Secondly, we point out the intertextual relationships with Melville’s "Moby Dick", José Hernández’s "Martín Fierro" and the poetic production of Juan L. Ortiz, literary references which appear in the text in different ways and with a different level of explicitness. Finally, we highlight some interesting relations between "El gran surubí" and Mairal’s first novel, "Una noche con Sabrina Love", focusing at the same time on the evolution of Ramón Paz’s character in comparison with the fictional author of "Pornosonetos".El presente artículo consiste en un estudio de las relaciones intertextuales que "El gran surubí" de Pedro Mairal establece tanto con algunas obras de literatura argentina y angloamericana, como con la producción del proprio autor. El trabajo se desarrolla a partir de un análisis formal de la obra, subrayando las peculiaridades de su composición (se trata de una corona de sesenta sonetos) y su relación con los tres volúmenes de "Pornosonetos" del mismo Mairal, con los que comparte el peculiar esquema de rimas y el personaje de Ramón Paz (seudónimo del autor en los "Pornosonetos", protagonista de la historia en "El gran surubí"). Se comentarán luego las referencias a "Moby Dick", al "Martín Fierro" de José Hernández y a la obra poética de Juan L. Ortiz, sembradas a lo largo de toda la obra con importancia distinta y con alusiones más o menos explícitas. Para terminar, se destacarán algunas relaciones particularmente sugerentes entre "El gran surubí" y "Una noche con Sabrina Love", la primera novela del escritor, volviendo al mismo tiempo sobre el personaje de Ramón Paz y su evolución con respecto al autor ficticio de los "Pornosonetos"
