    No full text
The subject of this essay is the problem of justice in Marx’s theory. According to the author, Marx bases analysis and criticism of capitalism, and its political economy, on descriptive statements that completely ignore assumptions reducible to a parameter of justice. Furthermore, the type of society that Marx imagines as a communist is also based on the idea of an individual emancipation with respect to which his being just is a secondary element

Preliminary points for Marx's resignification in agrarian studies

This essay aims to problematize the notion of "Marxism" and its use as identical to "Marx's thought", specifically as it relates to agrarian studies. In Latin America, Marxism arrived relatively late, after the founding of the CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union) and the creation of the Third Communist International in 1919. The communists still followed the reception of Marx by Karl Kautsky and relied on it to establish their policy towards the peasants. Despite the resistance of Mariátegui in Peru and others, the orthodox anti-peasant conception predominated among the Latin American communist parties, and their ideologues dominated the intellectual scene in our countries. Therefore, the basic thought of Marx - in particular the texts of Marx's last phase (Shanin) - must be recovered. Despite the widespread use of native categories, a class analysis is possible and necessary to analyze the potential for peasant struggle in LA countries. The current challenge is to distance ourselves from the "colonized Marxism" that has predominated until today in Latin America, allowing us to rediscover the theoretical force of the author Marx to effectively support peasant movements in their struggle against the violent process of plunder imposed on them by capital

PregradoFilósofoIn this project a reflection is done from the Marxist conception of right in the Bourgeois Company, of there is the same one how this one is constituted in the way of the social relations and how it works in the social practice From our mentioned author Marx we will find a responsible way of approaching the topic of right inside a bourgeois company which always has been characterized for his zeal to stand out happening for above of the social low classes, of equal way we see here how men and women are expropriated of his territories for benefit of big capitalist. Consequently, from these violations it is that the social low class sees forced to fighting in a vain way Against the middle class to try to survive of the ruins that these left them when they took off them of his belongings. This I take them to an eternal fight to be able to survive before so much submission at the expense of the capitalist companies. To if same what I incite to the accomplishment of this project they were the desires of investigating on how the right is constituted in the way of the social relations of the bourgeois company, and of equal way, it was the form of how the power has showed itself product of the development of the middle class in his desire for conquering the absolute sovereignty

The author analyzes and systematizes the reasons for the current revival of interest in Marxism, its research and prognostic potential. Against the background of this interest, the author raises the question of the degree of understanding of both the system of Marx»s views and other socio-philosophical concepts, and comes to a disappointing conclusion about the prevalence of profane interpretations of humanitarian knowledge in General and the system of views of the classics of Marxism in particular. The author gives several reasons for this situation. The school actually forms «input competences» for training in higher education institution. Among them, first, there is a significant social stratification, already established social groups with opposite interests and, accordingly, views on reality. While for some it is important to apply knowledge in the business process, for others it is a problem of lack of prospects and minimal social justice. Secondly, the quality of the perception of humanitarian knowledge is affected by the specifics of the presentation of materials in the school course of social studies: internal inconsistency, fragmentation and haphazardness. The article considers in detail some fragments of the educational material and identifies their shortcomings. The author emphasizes that they are determined not only by the work of the author»s team, but by the specificity of the perception of students whose research activity is at the initial stage of development and is focused on the empirical perception and analysis, not on the synthesis of theoretical knowledge. Based on his own teaching and research experience, the author examines the possible forms and directions of studying Marx social philosophy in high school. According to the author, Marx methodology, the beginning of which can be learned in high school, will be an excellent tool for training in high school, the formation of a number of «input competencies» necessary for training in a classical University. One of these competencies is the ability to target. The author draws attention to the fact that the goal is an element of the future in the  present.

Obstacles on the path: An exposition of the experience of car-free living

    No full text
The contemporary focus by local and central government on the promotion of sustainable transport options has highlighted the need for commuting to move away from the current dependence on private cars to more public and active (walking and cycling) modes of transport. Given the prominence of the motor car in personal transport options however, choosing to live car-free in this car dependent culture appears at first glance to be an irrational choice. This research explores the lived experiences of a group of Hamilton residents who have made such a choice. Using a grounded theory approach, the thesis presents the results of interviews with nine car-free Hamilton residents who shared their personal transport stories, which include their childhood experiences, but focus on their current everyday practices and experiences. Through semi-structured interviews, the costs and benefits of a car-free lifestyle are articulated and analysed. Their motivations for choosing to forgo cars and their solutions for overcoming potential barriers to car-free living are also reported and explored. The collected data generated a range of themes which are presented in three chapters, each covering a specific aspect of the participants’ stories. The first group of themes relate to the public sphere, the second to the private realm and the final group emanates from specific elements of car-free living that the thesis sought to clarify through the participants’ stories. The key finding is that living car-free within Hamilton City is viewed by the participants as a well reasoned and eminently sensible choice, which produces multiple benefits. In addition to their reduced environmental footprints, the participants value the social interaction associated with active and public transport. Their consensus is that they are healthier, wealthier and more involved members of the community. The most problematic areas of living without a car were associated with recreational and social activities, which often do not coincide with public transport schedules or involve distances too great for active transport. The benefits far outweigh any disadvantages however, and ultimately, this thesis concludes that a motor car is not necessary for the everyday activities of urban living in Hamilton and any associated inconveniences are not as insurmountable as generally imagined
