    A one-page letter from Martin Smith to his son. Martin told his son he was writing to let him know they were all well and hoped the letter would find him the same way. Martin wrote that it was dry and dusty. His corn was suffering very badly in want of rain. He wrote that even if it rained then, he would not even get half a corn crop. Martin wrote that he got eight wheat bushels for one and shipped his peaches out. He got returns for twelve out of seventy-five. Martin wrote that he would send his son a barrel of flour (flower) and apologized for not sending it sooner, saying he had just gotten it ground yesterday. He sent his son two baskets of peaches and one of apples. Martin wrote that the camp meeting was very nice. Martin asked his son to let him know if he received the supplies he sent. The paper is labeled 5.00
