Kolcu, Onur Buğra (Arel Author) --- Makale 69 yazarlıdır.A search for radiative decays of the P-wave spin singlet charmonium resonance hc is performed based on 4.48 × 108 ? events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. Events of the reaction channels hc › ??' and ?? are observed with a statistical significance of 8.4? and 4.0?, respectively, for the first time. The branching fractions of hc › ??' and hc › ?? are measured to be B(hc › ??' ) = (1.52±0.27±0.29)×10-3 and B(hc › ??) = (4.7±1.5±1.4)×10-4 , respectively, where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic uncertainties

    No full text
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to test specific and fitness abilities of peewees of HC Motor Czech Budejovice. Theoretical part of the thesis was made by the content analysis of literature research. Author focused on evolutionary legitimacy to further clarify period of pubescence. We were dealing with physiologic legitimacy of ice hockey along with history of ice hockey, training principles and testing in this part hereafter. Explorational part contains using of test battery, which we apply on each peewee player of HC Motor Czech Budejovice. Measured values of tests were compared and eveluated with motoric tests outside of ice hockey rink. We have found out mutual relationship between dynamic explosive power and results of tests on the ice thanks to that. Better performance by older category in comparison to younger one is apparent as well. The results are described by and presented by charts and tables

Metabolic profiling and population screening of analgesic usage in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy-based large-scale epidemiologic studies

The application of a 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy-based screening method for determining the use of two widely available analgesics (acetaminophen and ibuprofen) in epidemiologic studies has been investigated. We used samples and data from the cross-sectional INTERMAP Study involving participants from Japan (n = 1145), China (n = 839), U.K. (n = 501), and the U.S. (n = 2195). An orthogonal projection to latent structures discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) algorithm with an incorporated Monte Carlo resampling function was applied to the NMR data set to determine which spectra contained analgesic metabolites. OPLS-DA preprocessing parameters (normalization, bin width, scaling, and input parameters) were assessed systematically to identify an optimal acetaminophen prediction model. Subsets of INTERMAP spectra were examined to verify and validate the presence/absence of acetaminophen/ibuprofen based on known chemical shift and coupling patterns. The optimized and validated acetaminophen model correctly predicted 98.2%, and the ibuprofen model correctly predicted 99.0% of the urine specimens containing these drug metabolites. The acetaminophen and ibuprofen models were subsequently used to predict the presence/absence of these drug metabolites for the remaining INTERMAP specimens. The acetaminophen model identified 415 out of 8436 spectra as containing acetaminophen metabolite signals while the ibuprofen model identified 245 out of 8604 spectra as containing ibuprofen metabolite signals from the global data set after excluding samples used to construct the prediction models. The NMR-based metabolic screening strategy provides a new objective approach for evaluation of self-reported medication data and is extendable to other aspects of population xenometabolome profiling

Transforming management in Central and Eastern Europe

This book analyzes changes in enterprises in seven European countries since 1989: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, and Slovakia. Economic trends have differed vastly among these countries, but nevertheless, they share common objectives, common problems, and significant similarities in developments. This book shows the continuities, as well as the discontinuities, between the Socialist and the post-Socialist periods

The aim of the diploma paper is to evaluate company’s HC Betons Ltd current financial situation based on financial analysis and make suggestions for improvement of the financial position. Theoretical aspects of financial analysis are discussed in the theoretical part of the paper. In the practical part author has performed company’s HC Betons Ltd financial analysis of the years 2009, 2010 and 2011. In the analytical part author compares ratios of a competing company Cemex Ltd. The author concludes that the company is in financial difficulties, but according to the author’s thoughts, the company will not bankrupt in the coming years. The volume of the diploma paper is 78 pages; it consists of 3 parts, 12 tables, 5 images and 12 appendices. Keywords: analysis, liquidity, bankruptcy, ratios

On the optimality of age-dependent taxes and the progressive U.S. tax system

In life-cycle economies, where an individual's optimal consumption-work plan is almost never constant, the optimal marginal tax rates on capital and labor income vary with age. Conversely, the progressivity imbedded in the U.S. tax code implies that marginal tax rates vary with age because tax rates vary with earnings and earnings vary with age. Using numerical simulations, this paper shows that if the tax authority is prevented from conditioning tax rates on age, some degree of progressivity is desirable as progressive taxation better imitates optimal age-dependent taxes than an optimal age-independent tax system. This role for progressive taxation emanates from efficiency reasons and does not rely on any insurance nor re-distribution arguments<br/

    Improved distinguishers for HC-128

    No full text
HC-128 is an eSTREAM final portfolio stream cipher. Several authors have investigated its security and, in particular, distinguishing attacks have been considered. Still, no one has been able to provide a distinguisher stronger than the one presented by Wu in the original HC-128 paper. In this paper we first argue that the keystream requirement in Wu’s original attack is underestimated by a factor of almost 2^8. Our revised analysis shows that the keystream complexity of Wu’s original attack is 2^160.471 32-bit keystream blocks. We then go on to investigate two new types of distinguishers on HC-128. One of them, a distinguisher counting the number of zeros in created blocks of bits, gives a biased distribution that requires 2^143.537 such constructed block samples (2^152.537 32-bit keystream blocks). For fairness, the same metric is used to compare our attack to Wu’s, and our improvement is significant compared to Wu’s original result. Furthermore, the vector-based methodology used is general and can be applied to any cryptographic primitive that reveals a suitable probability distribution

The financial health of voluntary hospitals in inter-war Britain

    No full text
This article re–evaluates the gravity of the financial problems facing British voluntary hospitals in the interwar period. A relational database of statistics on hospital provision, finance (at both current and constant prices), and activity is used to derive consistent sets of hospitals for reporting purposes. The article presents novel analyses of the extent and pattern of hospital surpluses and deficits; of the capital accounts of selected individual hospitals; of trends in hospital expenditure; of the diversification of hospital income, emphasizing the declining importance of traditional philanthropy; and of the effect of these changes on hospital provision and utilization

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to test specific and fitness abilities of goalkeepers of HC Motor Czech Budejovice. In the theoretical part of this thesis, based on content analysis of literature research, the author presents motoric abilities, development patterns and overview of most frequently used tests. In the practical part of thesis, the author deals with creating and verifying tested battery. It was designed using the knowledge gained from books reference and self- experience of a player and a coach as well. To obtain the results of performance of particular motoric abilities the author used testing method. The outcomes were subsequently compared with the evaluation of given motoric abilities on ice. The author acquired the evaluation from goalkeeper's coaches of HC Motor Czech Budejovice. Final results are described and thereafter tabularly presented
