Creative wedding photography
Vse avtorske fotografije so bile narejene z zrcalno refleksnimi fotoaparati Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EOS 5D in Canon EOS 6D. Za dobro poročno fotografijo ni dovolj le dobra oprema, potrebno je poznati zakonitosti in zahteve vseh zvrsti fotografije, likovne prvine, tehnične zakonitosti in prav tako delovanje fotoaparata. With the invention of the photography, people got a new way of documenting events. Photography is a visual document of an event, people, time, and place. Today, photography presents memories of our past and events, including weddings. In the wedding photography is very important a style of photography. In creative wedding photography, the approach must be different than in classical photography. Photographs must reflect the personality of the couple and their wedding story. The wedding photographer must present the essence of the wedding and wedding story. A good photo has to tell a story, it has to tell us something, it has to inspire you and provoke emotions.
The objective of this thesis is to examine the area of wedding photography and to present significance of a photography. When photographing weddings, it is necessary to be informed about the laws and elements of almost all types of photography. A wedding photographer encounters portrait photography, reportage photography, landscape photography, fashion photography, architectural photography, macro photography, children photography and some other type. Everything has to be connected into a story that happened on that day. The theoretical part presents photography from the technical and artistic point of view, the importance of photography, common types of photography, the composition and the operation of the camera. In the experimental part, fifteen wedding photographs are presented. The end of the diploma work contains the results of the experimental part of the study, which is composed of fifteen wedding photographs and their visual analyzes and technical characteristics of the camera used for making the photographs. All author\u27s photos, published in the thesis were taken by a reflex camera Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EOS 5D and Canon EOS 6D. When analyzing the photographs, it was found out how important is composition, right angle and settings on the camera. It was discovered how the photographs are affected by the three main parameters on the cameratime, aperture in ISO speed. Good wedding photography can\u27t only be made with good equipment, but with knowledge of requirements of all types of photography, visual elements, technical laws and the functioning of the camera
Knighthood in George R.R. Martin\u27s series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire.
Nekaj vitezov in nevitezov iz romanov sem podrobneje analizirala glede na pet vrlin viteštva iz študije Viteštvo v Zahodnjem in glede na Martinovo sintagmo \u27pravi vitez\u27.The thesis focuses on the portrayal and theme of knighthood in the series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire by the American author George R.R. Martin. Beginning with the author\u27s biography and bibliography, then describing the literary and the historical context of the novels and why Martin\u27s novels are examples of medievalism. Knighthood was an important facet of European medieval society and a key element of medievalist works, such as Malory\u27s Le Morte d\u27Arthur and Scott\u27s Ivanhoe. Martin was influenced by the historical tradition of knighthood, but he added some of his innovations, which I described in the next section. I analysed some knight and non-knight characters from the novels according to five virtues of knighthood from Chivalry in Westeros and according to Martin\u27s syntagma \u27true knight\u27
Residential renovation in Slovenia: comparison of survey and registry data
Data on residential renovations are crucial for assessing their energy efficiency and living conditions of residents. Based on the real estate register data in Slovenia, we have information about the year of construction of buildings, as well as the year of renovation of roofs, facades, windows, and installations. However, the data for the period after 2007, when the last real estate census was conducted, is incomplete. Moreover, official surveys also have very limited data on this topic. To get more detailed insights into the renovation procedures of Slovenian households, we conducted our own survey on a web panel, which provided insights into renovation characteristics not captured by existing data sources. This contribution compares survey data on renovations with registry data and attempts to evaluate the quality of survey data. The author acknowledge receiving funding from the Slovenian Research Agency for the project Using questionnaires to measure attitudes and behaviours of building users [Z5-1879] and from the European Cooperation in Science and Technology for the InnoRenew project [grant agreement #739574] under the H2020 Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation Horizon2020 Widespread-Teaming program
Ethnologia Europaea in Croatia and Slovenia: Branimir Bratanić (1910–1986) and Vilko Novak (1909–2003)
The author deals with a chapter from the histories of Croatian and Slovenian ethnology, particularly the period of the 1950s, when both national ethnological disciplines were engaged with the issue of the relationship between general and regional/national ethnology. As far as concerns this relationship, Branimir Bratanić and Vilko Novak, both university professors at that time, followed the contemporary line of discussions in European ethnology (EE). They presented the "novelties" and advocated the integration of specific national traditions in EE, adapting them by respecting disciplinary legacies and current state of the discipline in their home countries as well as their educational agendas and broader research practices. For this reason, this study also includes a comparative presentation of some disciplinary convergences and divergences right before this particular period: the links between Croatian and Slovenian ethnology that come to light when emphasising the conceptualization of the research field, institutional history, and contacts among researchers
The Use of Survey Questionnaires to Measure Attitudes and Behaviours Related to Sustainable Building Issues

The building sector accounts for almost a third of the global final energy consumption and attempts to lower it can have a big impact on the environment. Social sciences have an important role to play in shaping the built environment by conducting research on the predesign and design process and post-occupancy evaluation. In this context, measuring attitudes and behaviours of building users with surveys can play an important role in achieving sustainability goals.

This contribution is based on a systematic literature review that focuses on published research studies that use surveys to examine environmental comfort, energy consumption and other sustainability issues related to building construction and use. The review assesses the quality of contributions and identifies knowledge gaps. Moreover, works that involve specific demographics groups and deal with inequalities are identified. In parallel, an inventory of survey questionnaires and items is generated and a selection of them is assessed with available survey questionnaire evaluation methods. Based on the results improvements of survey research practices to study sustainable building issues are proposed and further research needs are identified.
The author acknowledges the support of the Slovenian Research Agency for funding the project using questionnaires to measure attitudes and behaviours of building users (Z5-1879) and the European Commission for funding the InnoRenew project [Grant Agreement #739574] under the Horizon 2020 Widespread-Teaming program
Improving the representativeness of non-probability samples: A case study of two web surveys
Web surveys, even for purposes of scientific data collection, are commonly based on non-probability samples as this saves costs and other resources. Unlike probability sampling procedures, non-probability sampling does not enable the generalisation of results from sample to the population. Since certain users are more likely to volunteer to participate, non-probability samples often have a certain selection bias. The representativeness of non-probability sampling designs can be improved with measures such as trying to spread the sample recruitment as broadly as possible by combining several recruitment channels. This contribution presents the case study of two web surveys in Slovenia that were based on large convenience samples, first on the topic of COVID-19 protective measures and the second on topic of COVID-19 vaccination. In both cases, we run a parallel survey where the same questionnaire was administered to members of an online market research panel that is representative of the Slovenian population. Based on the comparison of results of the two convenience samples to the respective panel samples we estimate how biased they are and discuss possible approaches to improve their representativeness. The author acknowledges the support of the Slovenian Research Agency for funding the project using questionnaires to measure attitudes and behaviours of building users (Z5-1879), the European Commission for funding the InnoRenew project [Grant Agreement #739574] under the Horizon 2020 Widespread-Teaming program, and the Republic of Slovenia (investment funding from the Republic of Slovenia and the European Regional Development Fund)
Development of Ophthalmology in Slovenia and University Eye Hospital in Ljubljana (1890-2010)- at the 120th anniversary of the University Eye Hospital in Ljubljana
Godine 2010. u Sloveniji djeluje 130 specijalista-oftalmologa, dvije katedre za oftalmologiju (na medicinskom fakultetu u Ljubljani i Mariboru), dobro organizirana i međunarodno priznata specializacija iz oftalmologije te zavidan znanstvenoistraživački opus objavljen u raznim stručnim revijama indeksiranim u “Science Citation Index”.Slovenian ophthalmology developed much at the same time as in the rest of the Central Europe). The first Slovenian ophthalmologist was Dr Ludvik Grbec (1805–1880). The first Slovenian eye department was established within the Ljubljana civil hospital in 1890, and initially counted 34 hospital beds. Under Dr Emil Bock, the department grew to 120 beds by 1916 and saw a number of surgical procedures performed (mainly cataract operations). Dr Bock also founded a department for the treatment of ocular tuberculosis in children. From 1920 to 1958, the department was resumed by Dr Leopold Ješe, a pioneer of Slovenian ophthalmology, the first professor of ophthalmology at the Ljubljana University Faculty of Medicine (1945), author of the first ophthalmology textbook for students (Ophthalmology, 1946), and the father of Slovenian ophthalmological terminology. This article describes the development of ophthalmology in Slovenian hospitals to this day, especially in the Ljubljana Eye Hospital. It remembers the most prominent figures and professional, educational, and scientific achievements. Now in 2010, Slovenia has over 130 ophthalmologists, two departments teaching ophthalmology (within Ljubljana and Maribor University Faculties of Medicine), an internationally recognised ophthalmology specialisation programme, and influential research work published in various journals indexed by Science Citation Index
The author looks back on the last decade of work and life at the Institute for Slovenian Ethnography at ZRC SAZU. The first part of the article focuses on the links between the institute’s recent work and initial operation, emphasizing how the discipline (ethnography, ethnography) and the institute have positioned themselves in society. The second part lays out a map of project and program contents from 2011 to 2021, highlighting the interplay between the institute’s established academic interests (its disciplinary and institutional identity) and its engagement with current social topics, which is often dictated by calls for varied research projects. These projects have strongly shaped the institute’s survival in the contemporary research market, defined not only by the edict of “publish or perish” but also that of “submit applied research projects”. The author concludes her analysis of the institute’s experience of the turbulent decade with calls for an open, autonomous, and slow science. Izkušnjo turbulentnega desetletja sklepa misel o odprti, avtonomni in počasni znanosti
Metafiction in novels Frankissstein by J. Winterson, The Book of Form and Emptiness by R. Ozeki and Cloud Cuckoo Land by A. Doerr
Magistrsko delo se ukvarja z metafikcijskimi prvinami v romanih The Book of Form and Emptiness ameriške pisateljice Ruth Ozeki, Cloud Cuckoo Land ameriškega pisatelja Anthonyja Doerrja in Frankissstein angleške pisateljice Jeanette Winterson, ki so izšli v zadnjih štirih letih. V drugem delu magistrskega dela sledi interpretativna in tematska analiza romanov Frankissstein, The Book of Form and Emptiness in Cloud Cuckoo Land. This master thesis offers an analysis of metafictional elements in the novels The Book of Form and Emptiness by the American writer Ruth Ozeki, Cloud Cuckoo Land by the American writer Anthony Doerr and Frankissstein by the English writer Jeanette Winterson, all published in the last four years. The first half of the thesis presents the theory of metafiction as a literary mode, the problems of definition and the overview of its typologies. Moreover, it charts its development from pre-postmodern novels, when it was not yet identified, to the twentieth century, when it became one of the most prolific and innovative writing strategies. The focus is on the classification of ontological and epistemological fiction. The second part of the thesis offers the interpretative and thematic analysis of the novels Frankissstein, The Book of Form and Emptiness and Cloud Cuckoo Land. Firstly, the focus is on the intertextual and meta-textual strategies according to the typology of Julija Uršič’ study Metamatika. Afterwards, we look at the themes and discern where the metafiction is most concentrated. The question is how the authors construct ontological reality through their narratives and to what end they use metafiction as a literary mode: either to draw attention to the problematic relationship between reality and fiction and to the multiplicity of subjective truths, or to invoke the presence of an author who can undermine or construct the ontological reality. There is also a particular focus on common themes such as the importance of literature and writing, the identity of the author and the protagonist(s), and more contemporary issues such as technology, artificial intelligence, gender roles and mental health
Reception of Jovan Cvijić in Slovenian ethnology
The paper discusses the reception of the work of Jovan Cvijić in Slovenian
ethnology. Cvijić is considered to be one of the founding fathers of Serbian
ethnology, due in large part to his anthropogeographical orientation that
strongly marked ethnological research in Serbia until the second half of the
20th century. In Slovenian ethnology, the so-called anthropogeographical
school is virtually unknown; however, some of its tenets can be recognized or
were actively applied in research of cultural areas, carried out by
geographers and ethnographers before and after the Second World War when
anthropogeography was considered to be a branch of geography and a discipline
akin to ethnography/ethnology. The author aims to discuss when, for whom and
in what way was Jovan Cvijić direct or indirect reference within the horizon
of Slovenian ethnology. His reception is marked by acknowledging the powerful
influence of his political views and engagement on his scholarship
