Mario Puccini between Italy and Argentina
Mario Puccini between Italy and Argentina – The Italian writer Mario Puccini travelled to Argentina in 1936 to attend the Pen Club Congress. In the essay, the results of Puccini’s stay in Argentina are studied for the first time in Italy: books, stories, articles, translations, correspondences, unrealized projects. Puccini is confirmed as an important cultural mediator in relations between Italy and the Spanish-speaking nations

Cellular behavior of neointima-like cells onto Vitamin E-enriched poly (D, L) lactic acid
Una memoria al plurale: i vietnamiti, la guerra e l’editoria italiana
This essay gives an overview of the Italian publishing industry with regard to Vietnamese perspectives on the Vietnam War. It argues that in Italy the memory of the war still carries both the mark of Hollywood’s influence and of the wartime sympathies for the Vietnamese communists’ cause. The author advocates the translation of more recent scholarly works that question old assumptions about the war and its aftermath
Vitamin E triggers Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) embolic potential: a proposed application for endovascular surgery
Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) is a biocompatible polymer used as embolizing agent for endovascular surgery. Blending of PHEMA with a hydrophobic and anti-oxidant agent, Vitamin E (Vit.E, 0.1-10%, w/v), modified PHEMA's haemocombatibility, evaluated measuring wettability, plasma protein adsorption along with whole blood coagulation time. The presence of Vit.E increases PHEMA's hydrophobicity and plasma protein adsorption (in particular albumin and Immunoglobulin G), while it also accelerates blood clot formation. These effects are developed due to a combination of issues such as surface hydrophobicity and plasma protein adsorption induced by the presence of Vit.E, suggesting that Vit.E blending could improve the use of PHEMA as embolizing agent
