Il reportage alla maniera di Tiziano Terzani: Buonanotte, Signor Lenin e le epifanie dei luoghi
In this paper, Gloria Politi embarks upon an analysis of Goodnight, Mister Lenin seen
as an interpretation of the genre of reportage in the peculiar way by its author Tiziano
Terzani. In terms of methodology, this approach draws on theories of literary criticism,
textual hermeneutics and narratology. The analysis shows how the depiction of the flow
of events before the reader’s eyes reveals an inner gaze that, according to Pavel Florensky,
almost creates a figurative mark, just like the impressions conveyed by poetry. Terzani’s
word thus expresses all its evocative potential as a narrative transfer of the rendering of
space in the visual arts
Playing with autism. Encountering Simona Concaro by her music. Vol. 1.1
Playing with Autism contains twenty-four original pieces for piano, recorded and carefully transcribed in current music notation by Pierluigi Politi and Hanna Shybayeva. Simona Concaro, the author, is a young woman suffering of low-functioning autism. She lives in Cascina Rossago, a farm-community, designed to meet the needs of people with autism, in Oltrepo pavese (Italy).
Since she was three, Simona Concaro has created original compositions on piano, instrument she learned by herself, refusing any kind of musical education. In everyday life, Simona does not use verbal language and has low autonomy. Her music, on the contrary, contains interesting features – melodic, rhythmic and harmonic –, even in the presence of some iterative elements, typical of the autistic spectrum

Time spent on distance learning moderates changes in teachers’ work-related well-being one year after the first school closures.
: It is now well documented that school closures enforced at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic impaired teachers' well-being. Yet, only a few studies tracked changes in teachers' well-being during the subsequent phases of the pandemic, phases that were characterized by the discontinuous implementation of in-person teaching and distance learning. To fill this gap, we conducted a follow-up study at the end of the school year 2020-2021 (May-June 2021, T2), administering an online questionnaire to Italian teachers (N = 240) who had previously taken part in a data collection conducted at the end of the first school closures (May-June 2020, T1). Our first aim was to monitor changes in teachers' psychological and work-related well-being between T1 and T2. Our second aim was to assess whether time spent on distance learning moderates these changes in psychological and work-related well-being. Results showed that teachers' psychological well-being decreased between T1 and T2, whereas work-related well-being increased. What is more, time spent on distance learning moderated the general increase in work-related well-being observed at T2: The longer teachers implemented distance learning during the school year 2021, the less their work-related well-being increased. In conclusion, although it seems that teachers have adapted to the changes associated with the first school closures, this study showed that distance learning remains a possible risk factor for teachers' well-being. Teachers navigating distance learning during COVID-19 without feeling emotionally exhausted : the protective role of self-efficacy.
In the context of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, teachers faced unprecedented challenges and threats while implementing distance learning. Consequently, teachers may have experienced emotional exhaustion. The aim of our study was threefold: To explore teachers’ threat appraisals, to investigate the relation between teachers’ threat appraisals and their emotional exhaustion, and to examine processes protecting teachers from emotional exhaustion. Self-efficacy belief, especially, may have driven teachers’ perceptions of distance learning as an opportunity (i.e., distance learning strengths), rather than an impediment (i.e., distance learning weakness) to teaching. During the first wave of COVID-19, Italian teachers (N = 1,036) filled in an online survey. A mixed-method design was used to address our three research aims. Findings indicated that, above and beyond other COVID-19 threats, one third of teachers reported worries, fears, and concerns related to their job (i.e., job-related threats). Furthermore, those who mentioned job-related threats experienced greater emotional exhaustion. Finally, teachers’ self-efficacy was related to lower emotional exhaustion both directly and indirectly via teachers’ perceptions of distance learning. Indeed, distance learning weaknesses (but not distance learning strengths) mediated the negative relationship between self-efficacy and emotional exhaustion. Altogether, our findings encourage reflection on possible interventions to reduce teachers’ job-related threats and help them navigate distance learning effectively. Longevity and Metamorphosis of the Russian Musical Romance from its Origins to Eurovision Song Contest 2009
This essay sets out to trace the evolutionary lines of musical romance, which, beginning in the mid-18th century, found fertile ground for development in Russia by firmly rooting itself in a tradition that had originated a century and a half earlier but whose roots lay in the oral production of ancient Rus'. In spite of this strongly historical-anthropological marking, it is observed that the diachronic development of Russian romance, as a musical genre intended both for an elite audience and for the masses, is corollated by a series of revivals and contaminations, first and foremost from nineteenth-century Europe, Italian mainly, and which, despite its use of stereotypical themes and motifs anchored in the concept of 'nation,' meets with the constant favor of an audience that is, even today, quite broad and heterogeneous. The methodology that will be referred to, will cover culturological, literary and historical studies with the aim of highlighting the relationship between author and audience, both the links of the texts in their mutual connections and in relation to the value system of the culture within which they are produced
Mifopoėtičeskie strategii i travmatičeskij narrativ v romane Vremja ženščin Eleny Čižovoj
In The Time of Women (2009) by Elena Čižova, the legacy of Stalin,
marked by suspicion and fear, infiltrates everyday life, driving
people to live beneath the surface in a silence that becomes a stronghold
for the construction of a feminine identity. The history of
Russia runs through the lives of the protagonists – mothers, daughters,
and grandmothers – revealing difficult relationships and
complex events. The proposed analysis focuses on the artistic processes
employed by the author in deconstructing and reconstructing
ancient and modern myths within a dramaturgical narrative
deeply marked by memory and trauma. The novel captures historically
defined moments and traumatic events, such as the fixing
of the hinges of the Soviet system, the implosion of the same after
the disintegration of the USSR
Determination of buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine in hair by GC-MS
Buprenorphine is a synthetic derivative of thebaine used as a substitute of heroin in detoxification programs. Buprenorphine was introduced for this application in May 2000 in Italy and its use for this therapeutic purpose has increased by over than 30% in three years. The aim of this study was to extend the method routinely applied in our laboratory to detect heroin metabolites, cocaine and amphetamines also to buprenorphine (BPR) and its metabolite norbuprenorphine (norBPR) in order to monitor BPR administration in detoxification programs as well as to detect drug abuse during detoxification. The analytical procedure was as follows: after a washing-step with methanol, hair was finely cut and incubated in HCl 0.1N (45°C, overnight). Nalorphine was chosen as internal standard. Purification of analytes was executed by solid phase extraction (Bond Elut Certify) which provided recoveries higher than 80% for both BPR and norBPR; purified extract was derivatised with N-methyl, N-trimethylsilyl trifluoroacétamide (MSTFA) and the analysis was performed by GC-MS in SIM mode. Ions monitored were: m/z 450, 482, 506 for BPR, m/z 468, 500, 524 for norBPR and m/z 455. 414, 324 for internal standard (underlined ions were used as quantifiers). Method validation was performed by: evaluation of accuracy and precision; analysis of seven drug-free hair samples; testing of linearity (0-0.5 ng/mg, n = 5). Intra-day (n = 7) and inter-day (n = 3 on 5 different days) precision were better than 8.8%for both analytes and accuracy better than 15%. The limit of detection was 0.005 ng/mg and the limit of quantitation was 0.01 ng/mg. This method was applied to hair samples collected from patients in withdrawal treatment programmes and demonstrated its good applicability in routine analysis
