An Algorithm for Lossless Image Compression
No full textIn this paper, we present a new algorithm for lossless image compression. In this algorithm the similarities between a current pixel and a neighbouring pixel are definde by a couple of two words. The couples are encoded by arithmetic coding. The probabilities of couples occurrences are determined by an automaton. Compression ratio that we obtain are higher than those obtained by existing algorithms based on the refinement of pixels and those of general compression.
