Brazil, São Paulo: 2 ♂, 5 ♀, CCLC 418, Cananéia, coll. R. Costa, x.2014. Distribution. Western Atlantic— Colombia, Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil (Amapá, Pará, Rio Grande do Norte, Alagoas, Bahia, São Paulo) (Gusmão et al. 2006, 2013; Piergiorge et al. 2014; Carvalho-Batista et al. 2019; Kerkhove et al. 2019;). Remarks. Xiphopenaeus dincao was recently described and the only record from São Paulo, under the current name, was collected in Cananéia (see above) and appear in the species description (Carvalho-Batista et al. 2019). However, there are some previous records from São Paulo, which were discovered through molecular studies performed with samples from Ubatuba and Cananéia as Xiphopenaeus sp. 2 (Gusmão et al. 2006; Piergiorge et al. 2014). Sequences accession number (GenBank): CCDB 6839—16S (OM720042), CCLC 418—COI (KY449130) (present study; Carvalho-Batista et al. 2019).Published as part of Mantelatto, Fernando L. & Al, Et, 2022, Checklist of decapod crustaceans from the coast of the São Paulo state (Brazil) supported by integrative molecular and morphological data: V. Alpheus petronioi Almeida, Terossi & Mantelatto 2014
Alpheus petronioi Almeida, Terossi & Mantelatto, 2014 (Figure 1I) Alpheus petronioi Almeida, Terossi & Mantelatto, 2014: 57, figs 1–3; 4C, D. Material examined. Brazil, São Paulo: 1 ♀, CCDB 4728, Cananéia, intertidal region in the ferry terminal to Ilha Comprida, coll. T. Davanso & R. Pescinelli, 26.ix.2013. Distribution. Western Atlantic—Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil (Pará, Bahia, São Paulo). Previous records. Cananéia (Almeida et al. 2014). Remarks. Alpheus petronioi belongs to the A. heterochaelis species complex (Almeida et al. 2014). The records of A. heterochaelis from São Paulo made by Luederwaldt (1919) correspond, at least in part, to the A. armillatus complex (Christoffersen 1984; Anker 2012). Other records of A. heterochaelis from São Paulo (e.g., Luederwaldt 1929; Abreu 1980; Mortari & Negreiros-Fransozo 2007) and from other regions of the Brazilian coast mentioned by Soledade & Almeida (2013) must be carefully considered because they may include misidentified species. HOLOTYPE: Brazil: Alagoas, Maragogi, Praia de Maragogi, 09°00′48.59″S− 35°13′14.46″W, 05/X/2013, col. F.L. Mantelatto & F.B. Mantelatto, 1♂ (MZUSP 39350). PARATYPES. Brazil: Alagoas, Maragogi, Praia de Maragogi, 09°00′48.59″S− 35°13′14.46″W, 05/X/2013, col. F.L. Mantelatto & F.B. Mantelatto, 5♂, 2♀ (CCDB 6499) - São Paulo, Cananéia, X/2014, R.C. Costa, 2♂, 5♀ (CCLC 418). Diagnosis. Petasma: In dorsal view, the proximal region occupies 3/4 of the distolateral projection length, with rounded posterior margin. The distal region is as long as wide and bears a convex row of teeth and the opening, which is wide and rounded. In ventral view the row of teeth of the posterior margin enters the proximal region but ends abruptly before its wider portion. In this species the carina of the ventral surface of the proximal region is absent. In dorsal view the appendix masculina is subcircular but less rounded than in X. kroyeri and its protruding tip has many spine rows. The posterior rounded projection is longer and narrower than in X. kroyeri. In ventral view the spines are more prominent in the margins and become smaller over the central concave surface. Etymology. The specific epithet “dincao” is given in the honour of the late Dr. Fernando D′Incao, in recognition of his contribution to the Brazilian Carcinology, in particular to the study of penaeoid shrimps from the Brazilian coast. It is to be treated as a noun in apposition. Type locality. Maragogi, Alagoas, Brazil. Remarks. A full description and figures of X. dincao and list of additional non-type material examined is given by Carvalho-Batista et al. (2019, 2020).Published as part of Carvalho-Batista, Abner, Terossi, Mariana, Zara, Fernando J., Mantelatto, Fernando L. & Costa, Rogério C., 2020, Validation of Xiphopenaeus dincao Carvalho-Batista, Terossi, Zara, Mantelatto & Costa and Xiphopenaeus baueri Carvalho-Batista, Terossi, Zara, Mantelatto & Costa (Decapoda: Penaeidae) from western Atlantic, pp. 597-599 in Zootaxa 4772 (3) on pages 597-598, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4772.3.10, http://zenodo.org/record/385662

HOLOTYPE. Mexico: Tabasco, 18°31′40.25″N– 93°19′43.95″W, 05/XI/2014, col. Ku, M.A.M., 1♂ (MZUSP 39351). PARATYPES. Mexico: Tabasco, 18°31′40.25″N– 93°19′43.95″W, 05/XI/2014, col. Ku, M.A.M., 5♂, 3♀ (CCDB 5461). Diagnosis. Petasma: In dorsal view, the proximal region occupies 3/4 of the distolateral projection length, posterior margins slightly rounded. The distal region extends for 1/4 of the distolateral projection length. The opening is wide and rounded, with a convex row of teeth. In ventral view, the row of teeth of the distal region of the posterior margin invades the proximal region and becomes sparser until it reaches its wider part. In this species the carina in the ventral surface of the proximal region is absent. The appendix masculina is subcircular but less rounded than in X. kroyeri and has no prominent apex, but its posterior margin is covered with spines. The rounded projection is the widest of all species. In ventral view there are several rows of spines which cover the central concave surface completely. Etymology. The new species name is in honor of our colleague Dr. Raymond Bauer, a recognized carcinologist who has devoted his career to the study of the biology of shrimps, especially from Gulf of Mexico, the type locality of the new species herein described. Type locality. Tabasco, Mexico. Remarks. A full description and figures of X. baueri and list of additional non-type material examined is given by Carvalho-Batista et al.
