Lawrence C. Manni Oral History Interview
Dr. Lawrence C. Manni (1909 – 2002) earned his MD from the University of Michigan in 1935 and moved to Florida after working as the medical director of American Legion Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. In Florida, he took over the medical directorship of the Northwest Florida Tuberculosis Hospital in Marianna. In 1952, he became director of the W.T. Edwards Tuberculosis Hospital in Tallahassee and eventually became director of the Florida Tuberculosis Control Board. During this oral history interview, Dr. Manni recounts the history of tuberculosis in Florida. He describes the construction of the W.T. A tension approach to controlling the shape of cubic spline surfaces on FVS triangulations
We propose a parametric tensioned version of the FVS macro-element to control the shape of the composite surface and remove artificial oscillations, bumps and other undesired behaviour. In particular, this approach is applied to C1 cubic spline surfaces over a four-directional mesh produced by two-stage scattered data fitting methods
Polynomial cubic splines with tension properties
In this paper we present a new class of spline functions with tension properties. These splines are composed by polynomial cubic pieces and therefore are conformal to the standard, NURBS based CAD/CAM systems
Financial Accounting - Text & Cases
The book has been written for those who intend to approach the study of financial accounting and it is divided in eight parts: setting up of a business, double entry bookkeeping system and case study, cash flow analysis, cash flow statements and case study, ratio analysis, comprehensive analysis. Even if all parts of the book were revised and written by both authors, Prof. Francesco Manni has mainly focused on the first four parts, whereas Dr. Alessio Faccia on last four parts
