    A Study on Azhal Keel Vaayu (அழல் கீல் வாயு).

    AIM AND OBJECTIVES: Azhal keel Vaayu (Osteoarthritis) is a very common condition affecting the joints more frequently with aging. It’s a major cause of morbidity of the working force, throughout the world. The extrapolation rate of osteoarthritis in our country is 78, 341,013 and the estimated population is 1, 065, 070, 607 (US census bureau, international Date Base – 2007) So the author is much interested in choosing this disease as the topic for dissertation and treating the same with the help of Mirudharsingi Chunnam–65mg–twice a –day internally and poochu ennai externally. The aim and objective of this dissertation, is stated as below: 1. Siddha system of medicine should reach the entire society of the world. 2. The unique aspect of Siddha principles namely the three dosham theories with respect of body constitution (yaakai), taste (suvai) and seasonal variation (Paruvakalam) are interpreted with the disease. 3. Relevant evidence from various Siddha literature and other system of medicine to be attached. 4. To study the incidence of the disease with respect to age, Gender, socio-economic status, habit and family history. 5. To know the correlation of aetiology, clinical features, signs and symptoms of Azhal keel vaayu in siddha aspect with osteoarthritis in modern aspect. 6. To have a detailed clinical investigations. 7. To have a clinical trial on Azhal keel Vaayu with Mirudharsingi Chunnam internally and poochu ennai externally. 8. To estimate the efficacy of Mirudharsingi Chunam and Poochu ennai. 9. To evaluate the biochemical, pharmacological and toxicological reports of dissertation medicine. 10. To pave way for further research work in future. SUMMARY The clinical study on Azhal Keel Vaayu with reference to its aetiology, pathogenesis, investigations, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment were conducted at the Sirappu Maruthuvam Department, National Institute of Siddha, Chennai – 47. 60 cases with the signs and symptoms of Azal Keel Vaayu were selected and a thorough observation was made. The majority of patients were female. The drugs administered in the clinical study were used only after careful purification process. During the study period, there were no drug reactions like tiredness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, gastric discomfort, weakness reported Among 60 the patients treated 90% showed good results. 10% showed moderate results. CONCLUSION: Treatment was given for the Azhal Keel Vaayu on the basis of “Mukkutra Theory”. The deranged Kuttrams were corrected by the medicine given. Mirudharsingi chunnam and poochuennai as on internal & external respectively. The above medicine were selected from the Siddha literatures korakkar santhraregai and Yugimunivaidhya kaaviyam respectively. Almost all the cases with above medicines were shown remarkable improvement. Clinically, no adverse effects were reported during the course of treatment and the drug evaluation was done with modern parameters. Reversible pharmacological effects found by modern parameters for this drug. A length it is concluded that in the treatment of Azhal Keel Vaayu with Poochuennai were found to be very safe and also economical

    Bismuth Oxychloride Dispersed on Nitrogen-Doped Carbon as Catalyst for the Electrochemical Reduction of CO<sub>2</sub> to Formate

    Electrochemical reduction of CO2 has received significant interest for converting CO2 to value added products and closing the carbon cycle. Recent advances through catalyst development have aided in satisfying the requirements of achieving a high product selectivity, activity and long-term stability. Among various industrially valuable products, formic acid has found numerous applications such asin fuel cells and textile industry. In this work, we report the synthesis of bismuth oxychloride dispersed on nitrogen-doped carbon through a facile ion adsorption process using bismuth acetate, hydrochloric acid and urea as precursors, and discuss its performance as an electrocatalyst for the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to formate. The results show that bismuth oxychloride dispersed on nitrogen-doped carbon has good catalytic activity for CO2 reduction to formate in 0.5 M KHCO3, achieving a maximum faradaic efficiency of 84.3 % at −0.87 V versus RHE. The catalyst is found to be stable for 5 h of continuous operation and achieves a turnover frequency of 146.36 h−1.Accepted Author ManuscriptChemE/Materials for Energy Conversion and Storag

    XSDL: Making XML Semantics explicit

    The problem that &apos;XML formally governs syntax only - not semantics&apos; has been a serious barrier for XML-based data integration and the extension of current Web to Semantic Web. To address this problem, we propose the XML Semantics Definition Language(XSDL) to express XML author&apos;s intended meaning and propose a model-theoretic semantics for XML. Consequently, XML becomes a sub-language of RDF in expressiveness and XML data can be semantics-preserving transformed into RDF data.     Four-valued semantics for default logic

    Reiter&apos;s default logic suffers the triviality, that is, a single contradiction in the premise of a default theory leads to the only trivial extension which everything follows from. In this paper, we propose a default logic based on four-valued semantics, which endows default logic with the ability of handling inconsistency without leading to triviality. We define four-valued models for default theory such that the default logic has the ability of nonmonotonic paraconsistent reasoning. By transforming default rules in propositional language L into language (L) over bar (+), a one-to-one relation between the four-valued models in L and the extensions in (L) over bar (+) is proved, whereby the proof theory of Reiter&apos;s default logic is remained.Computer Science, Artificial IntelligenceSCI(E)EICPCI-S(ISTP)

    Toponymic System as a Resource to Explore the Ancient History of a Region: the Case of Khakassia

    The article addresses a number of issues related to the origins of hydronyms in Southern Siberia, primarily in Khakassia. The author adopts the earlier proposed theory, according to which the aboriginal ethnic groups of Southern Siberia, belonging mainly to the Ural and Yenisei linguistic families, were almost completely assimilated by the Turkic-speaking peoples who came to their land. This naturally led to the formation of a late stratum of Turkic toponymy in South Siberia, superimposed on chronologically earlier strata. Thus, the hydronymy of the Khakass-Minusinsk basin and the adjacent areas suggests that prior to the arrival of the Turkic-speaking population, this territory was inhabited by Samoyedic peoples, which have produced numerous river names with determinant -v, correlating with the Samoyed dialectal lexemes of bi, bu, bü ‘water’: Anbu, Buiba, Erba, Irba, Karasiba, Kolba, Salba, Seiba, Taiba, Tebe, Tuba, Holba, Chorba, etc. Apart from those, Southern Siberia was also home for the speakers of Ugric languages, who left a number of names with the component -as/-es either as a stem (Askhys, Essuh) or the determinant (Albas, Izbas, Saras). The picture is further complicated by the presence of place names of presumably Indo-European (Eastern Iranian) origin, in particular, river hydronyms with formants -dan /-dyan, -ir, -kem, -man: Sheldian; Algair, Koir; Akem, Bertkem; Chulyshman, Shashikman, Yaloman, and others. The author assumes that in the distant past the Iranians could have reached Altai, so the Indo-European elements could be transferred by the Turkic peoples to other South Siberian territories. The toponymy of Southern Siberia is thus a valuable source for reconstructing the ancient history of the region and an important resource for popularizing the historical and cultural heritage. The prospective study of the toponymy of Southern Siberia relates to building toponymic models reflecting the culture of indigenous ethnic groups

    Perkembangan video animasi 2D maupun 3D pada era sekarang sangatlah pesat. Hal ini terlihat dari banyaknya stasiun televisi swasta dalam negeri yang menayangkan animasi dari luar negeri terutama Jepang. Banyak mitologi dan budaya Jepang yang dihadirkan pada setiap serialnya, misalnya serial anime “Naruto” dengan unsur Yamabushi Tengu yang divisualkan menjadi wujud Kanseitai Susanoo dan mitologi Kitsune atau Oinari yang dihadirkan kedalam topeng organisasi elit Anbu (Ansajutsu Senjutsu Tokushi Butai) dimana semua anggotanya memakai topeng. Disamping itu sedikitnya video animasi dari dalam negeri yang mengangkat konten budaya lokal terutama topeng menjadi kekhawatiran penulis mengingat anak-anak yang terus disuguhi serial anime yang tidak memiliki sedikitpun konten budaya maupun mitologi lokal. Mengacu uraian diatas muncullah gagasan membuat video animasi 3D dengan konten topeng Cirebon. Rumusan masalah yang terdapat dalam penciptaan ini adalah mengembangkan gagasan dalam pembuatan karya video animasi 3D, proses pembuatan video animasi 3D, serta menganalisis visual bentuk video animasi 3D menggunakan metode analisis tele film. Tahapan proses pembuatan animasi 3D dibuat menggunakan program Blender versi 2.78.1, Audacity versi 2.1.2 dan GIMP versi 2.8.16 dengan membaginya menjadi tiga tahapan yaitu Pra Produksi, Produksi dan Pasca Produksi. Visualisasi video animasi 3D ini dibuat sedemikian rupa dengan memperhatikan prinsip-prinsip animasi 3D dan sinematografi. Video animasi ini dibuat sebagai media komunikasi visual dalam mengenalkan topeng Cirebon untuk anak usia Sekolah Dasar (6-11 tahun) dan penulis berharap video ini dapat dijadikan video pembelajaran dalam mengenalkan topeng Cirebon untuk anak Sekolah Dasar. Penulis juga berharap dengan pembuatan video animasi 3D ini animator-animator dari Indonesia bisa turut mengapresiasi dan terus mengembangkan animasi sebagai sarana edukasi.---The development of 2D and 3D animated video in the current era is just going vast. Thus can be seen from the number of domestic private television stations which aired animation especially from Japan. Many Japanese mythologies and cultures are presented in each series, such as the anime series "Naruto" with Yamabushi Tengu element which is visualized into the form of Kanseitai Susanoo and Kitsune or Oinari mythology, presented with the mask of the Anbu (Ansajutsu Senjutsu Tokushi Butai) elite organization where all of the member wear masks. On the other side, several animated videos from the locals lifts the content of local culture, especially the mask which became an author’s consideration to the issue which children were forced to be watching anime series that doesn’t have any cultural content and local mythology. Based from the description above, came the idea of creating a 3D animated video with the content of Cirebon’s mask. Problems in this works is how to develop the ideas of making 3D animated video, the process of creating 3D animated video, and analyzing the visual form of 3D animated video using tele film analysis method. Stages of 3D animation creation process created with Blender program version 2.78.1, Audacity version 2.1.2 and GIMP version 2.8.16 by dividing it into three stages that’s Pre Production, Production and Post Production. The visualization of 3D animation video is made in such a way by following the principles of 3D animation and cinematography principle. This animated video was created as a visual communication media to introduce Cirebon’s mask for elementary school children (6-11 years) and the author hopes this video can be used as a learning video in introducing Cirebon’s mask for elementary school children. The author also hopes that by making this 3D animated video, Indonesian animators also be appreciated and continue to develop animation as a medium of education

    Handling Inconsistency In Distributed Software Requirements Specifications Based On Prioritized Merging

    Developing a desirable framework for handling inconsistencies in software requirements specifications is a challenging problem. It has been widely recognized that the relative priority of requirements can help developers to make some necessary trade-off decisions for resolving con- flicts. However, for most distributed development such as viewpoints-based approaches, different stakeholders may assign different levels of priority to the same shared requirements statement from their own perspectives. The disagreement in the local levels of priority assigned to the same shared requirements statement often puts developers into a dilemma during the inconsistency handling process. The main contribution of this paper is to present a prioritized merging-based framework for handling inconsistency in distributed software requirements specifications. Given a set of distributed inconsistent requirements collections with the local prioritization, we first construct a requirements specification with a prioritization from an overall perspective. We provide two approaches to constructing a requirements specification with the global prioritization, including a merging-based construction and a priority vector-based construction. Following this, we derive proposals for handling inconsistencies from the globally prioritized requirements specification in terms of prioritized merging. Moreover, from the overall perspective, these proposals may be viewed as the most appropriate to modifying the given inconsistent requirements specification in the sense of the ordering relation over all the consistent subsets of the requirements specification. Finally, we consider applying negotiation-based techniques to viewpoints so as to identify an acceptable common proposal from these proposals
