Hoffmann). Each Syriac word is defined in Arabic, often with more than one Arabic equivalent; in addition, the author deals not just with individual Syriac words, but in some cases with phrases. Gottheil used 21 manuscripts (from Oxford, London, Paris, Berlin, Leiden, and Rome) for this edition, and he has supplied a thorough critical apparatus; the manuscripts are described in the introduction. While some manuscripts give the Arabic glosses in Syriac characters (i.e. Garshuni), Gottheil has presented them here in Arabic script. These two volumes will be of great interest to Syriac lexicographers and those who study interactions between Syriac and Arabic.Contains an English introduction by Richard J.H. Gotthei

Shades of Feeling: How Facial Color Variations Influence Emotional and Health Perception
No full textABSTRACT This study investigated how color variations in facial expressions influence our perception of emotions and health. Participants viewed color‐manipulated (CIE LAB color space) face images depicting seven emotional states and indicated their perceptions of each image's emotion and health. Our results suggest that facial color influences the perception of threat‐related emotions such as anger and disgust, as well as health perception. Increasing facial redness intensified the perception of anger, while increasing yellowness and lightness heightened the perception of disgust. Lightness affected perceptions of happiness and sadness, with lighter happy faces appearing happier and lighter sad faces appearing sadder. Additionally, enhancing redness and yellowness on faces led participants to perceive them as healthier. Our findings add to the existing literature and provide important insights into the role of colors in perceiving different emotions and health. These insights may significantly impact social interaction and communication, especially in situations where facial expressions play a critical role

No full textPenelitian ini berbentuk kajian skripsi dengan tema besar studi kitab hadis Nusantra, dengan judul ”Studi Kitab Hadis Nusantara: Analisis Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin Karya KH. Abdul Majid Tamim” ditulis oleh Mahrus Ali (12312193039) dengan dosen pembimbing Imam Ahmadi M. Ag.
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan dalam bidang hadis, khusunya studi kitab hadis Nusantara. Karena minimnya perhatian terhadap kitab-kitab hadis karya ulama Nusantara tentunya menjadi masalah akademik yang menghawatirkan. Dengan seiring berjalanya waktu, dikhawatirkan karya-karya dari ulama Indonesia perlahan-lahan bisa terlupakan dan pada akhirnya menhilang. Salah satu diantara banyaknya karya ulama Indonesia yang jarang diketahui yaitu kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin, kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin merupakan kitab hadis karya KH. Abdul Majid Tamim, seorang ulama asal Madura yang sangat produktif dalam menghasilkan karya terutama dalam tulis menulis. Selain itu, kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin merupakan salah satu karyanya dalam bidang hadis yang masih jarang diketahui oleh khalayak umum khusunya para pelajar. Kitab tersebut merupakan kontribusi nyata yang menambah khazanah keilmuan Islam di bidang hadis Nusantara. Hal tersebut benar adanya bahwa kajian hadis di Nusantara tidak sepesat kajian Islam lainnya, terutama yang berkaitan dengan kitab hadis. Sebelum menjadikan kitab ini sebagai salah satu pedoman hidup, tentunya sangat penting untuk meneliti terkait sumber dan keaslian kitab tersebut secara lebih mendalam.
Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kajian kepustakaan (library research). Sehingga data primier yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin. Sedangkan data sekunder kajian ini berasal dari litertur-literatur bacaan seperti buku, jurnal, artikel dan litertaur yang lainnya yang berkaitan dengan biografi KH. Abdul Majid Tamim dan kajian kitab hadis. Adapun penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dalam penjabarannya dengan merumuskan beberapa rumusan masalah. Rumusan masalah: 1) Bagaimana biografi dari KH. Abdul Majid Tamim pengarang dari kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin? 2) bagaimana epistimologi kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin karya KH. Abdul Majid Tamim? 3) bagaimana kontribusi kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin dalam wacana studi hadis di Indonesia?
Hasil dari penelitian ini memperoleh beberpa poin: Pertama, KH. Abdul Majid Tamim merupakan ulama keturunan bangsawan yang lahir dan tumbuh di Madura pada 22 Juni 1919. Selain itu, beliau menganyam pendidikan di pondok pesantren di Tebuireng tatkala pondok pesantren masih diasuh oleh KH. Hasyim Asy’ari. Setelah menyelesaikan pendidikannya beliau menetap di Jember dan wafat pada 8 Desember 2000. Kedua, kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin di tulis pada tahun 1404 H atau 1984 M. Adapun hadis-hadis yang terdapat dalam kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin tidak hanya terfokus pada satu tema, melainkan beberpa tema seperti ahlak, Iman, tauhid, shodaqoh, menuntut ilmu, amalan sehari-hari yang berkaitan dengan sosial dan dalam penulisannya kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin termasuk dalam metode al-at}ra>f. Adapun terkait sumber hadis yang terdapat dalam kitab ini kebanyakan dari Kutub al-Tis'ah, dan adapula dari beberpa kitab-itab hadis yang cukup Mu’tabrah lainnya. Namun, ada beberpa hadis yang tidak diketahui sumber rujukannya. Ketiga, kontribusi kitab Mīatu Ḥadīṣin Syarīfatin dalam wacana ilmu hadis yaitu, kitab ini diajarkan pada salah satu madrasah yang berada di Madura tepatnya di Madrasah Raudlatul Jannah, selain itu dengan adanya kitab tersebut tentunya meberikan kontribusi yang nyata dan menambah khazanah keilmuan Islam di bidang hadis, terutama hadis di Nusantara
