    Mai-Linh Hong is a Vietnamese American woman, she was born in Vietnam and grew up near Washington D.C. Hong is an author, editor, and Assistant Professor of Literature at UC Merced. Prior to joining the Auntie Sewing Squad, she ran an Etsy shop and its proceeds went to anti-racist and feminist organizations.     Taxi Mai Linh Huế đã không ngừng phấn đấu và giữ vững được thương hiệu của mình. Điều này thể hiện ở sức hấp dẫn của công ty đối với khách hàng ngày cang cao. Sức hấp dẫn được cấu thành từ nhiều yếu tố. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy khả năng thu hút khách của công ty rất cao (81,3% khách hàng nghĩ đến đầu tiên là taxi Mai Linh) do bởi thương hiệu nổi tiếng, chất lượng xe và phong cách phục vụ. Khả năng lôi cuốn khách hàng cũng khá cao (62,7% khách hàng trả lời đi taxi Mai Linh nếu có cơ hội). Kết quả là sự hài lòng và niềm tin của khách hàng đối với dịch vụ của taxi Mai Linh Huế khá cao. Khách hàng đánh giá rất cao sức hấp dẫn của công ty này với hơn 94% khách hàng được phỏng vấn đồng ý với yếu tố này. Kết quả hồi qui cũng cho thấy: sức hấp dẫn của doanh nghiệp có quan hệ chặt chẽ với các yếu tố sự chú ý của khách hàng; sự lôi cuốn khách hàng; sự hài lòng của khách hàng và niềm tin của khách hàng

    ABSTRACT Examining the Effects of Anxiety on Running Efficiency in a Cognitive-motor Dual-task Mai-Linh Dovan Dual-tasking is commonly defined as performing two tasks simultaneously and is commonplace in simple activities of daily living such as walking across the street while talking on a cell phone. When even simple motor tasks such as standing or walking are coupled with a mental task (cognitive-motor dual-task), performance of one or both tasks decreases because total available attention is limited. Dual-task performance has been shown to be affected by anxiety created by a physically threatening or disturbing environment. This can be explained by the attention-consuming effect of anxiety. Few studies have examined whether “performance anxiety” may have similar effects. This study examined the effects of performance-related anxiety on running when performed concurrently with a math task. Twenty-nine healthy university level students participated voluntarily in this study. Participants ran on a treadmill at a 20% increase from their self-selected pace while simultaneously subtracting 7 continuously from a randomly assigned 3-digit number. Each participant was subjected to the no-anxiety and anxiety conditions. Changes in stride length and stride frequency were analyzed using a Repeated Measures ANOVA with a significance level of = 0.05. Results were inconclusive, as analyses on anxiety showed that it was not successfully induced. Further studies should consider characteristics of the sample in order to create an experimental protocol capable of inducing population-specific anxiety

    The appropriate timing of intervention and follow-up in asymptomatic patients with aortic stenosis remains controversial. Risk stratification is a key, especially with the use of a multimodality imaging approach, including exercise stress echocardiography. This review focuses on the use of exercise echocardiography in asymptomatic patients with moderate and severe aortic stenosis with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction. It describes the exercise echocardiography protocol, parameters to be evaluated, and its role in guiding the timing of intervention and follow-up in these patients

    Fluid flux in fractured rock of the Alpine fault hanging-wall determined from temperature logs in the DFDP-2B borehole, New Zealand

    Sixteen temperature logs were acquired during breaks in drilling of the 893m-deep DFDP-2B borehole, which is in the Alpine Fault hanging-wall. The logs record various states of temperature recovery after thermal disturbances induced by mud circulation. The long-wavelength temperature signal in each log was estimated using a sixth-order polynomial, and residual (reduced) temperature logs were analyzed by fitting discrete template wavelets defined by depth, amplitude, and width parameters. Almost two hundred wavelets are correlated between multiple logs. Anomalies generally have amplitudes &lt;1°C, and downhole widths &lt;20m. The largest amplitudes are found in the first day after mud circulation stops, but many anomalies persist with similar amplitude for up to 15 days. Our models show that thermal and hydraulic diffusive processes are dominant during the first few days of re-equilibration after mud circulation stops, and fluid advection of heat in the surrounding rock produces temperature anomalies that may persist for several weeks. Models indicate that the fluid flux normal to the borehole within fractured zones is of order 10−7 to 10−6 m s−1, which is 2–3 orders of magnitude higher than the regional flux. Our approach could be applied more widely to boreholes, as it uses the thermal re-equilibration phase to derive useful information about the surrounding rock mass and its fluid flow regime.</p

    The Retrobulbar Spot Sign and Prominent Middle Limiting Membrane as Prognostic Markers in Non-Arteritic Retinal Artery Occlusion

    Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is characterized by the sudden, painless loss of vision. Typical sonographic and optic coherence tomography (OCT) findings are a retrobulbar spot sign and prominent middle limiting membrane (p-MLM) sign. It remains uncertain whether the retrobulbar spot sign alone or coinciding with the appearance of p-MLM sign is a prognostic marker for visual acuity and the development of secondary retinal ischemia after CRAO. In our prospective cohort study, we included patients with a non-arteritic central artery occlusion &lt; 4 weeks. We examined the following parameters at prespecified time points: ultrasound examination of orbital cavity, Spectral Domain-OCT examination, visual acuity test, and fundoscopy and ultra-widefield angiography to diagnose retinal vascularization. The presence of p-MLM sign in SD-OCT after CRAO was accompanied by significantly better vision during the first four weeks (2.3 (IQR 0.75) vs. 2.6 (IQR 0.33); p = 0.006). Moreover, the spot sign seems to be a prognostic factor for developing secondary retinal ischemia (8 (100%) vs. 0 (0%); p = 0.036). A retrobulbar spot sign seems to be a negative prognostic factor and is associated with secondary retinal ischemia, whereas a p-MLM sign is a somewhat positive prognostic factor for visual acuity

    First record of Meloidogyne incognita on maize (Zea mays L.) in western highland, Vietnam

    The root-knot nematodes, Meloidogyne incognita, is one of the most important pest on many crops, such as coffee, pepper, vegetables, etc. Firstly, the root-knot nematode populations were collected on corn in Krong Nang (Dak Lak province) and analyzed in comparision with other root-knot nematodes on morphology, ITS sequencing and specific primers. The results confirmed that the corn root-knot nematode population is M. incognita species. The study also added variations of different M. incognita populations on different host plants in the morphological characteristics. PCR product with specific primers for M. incognita is 1000 bp.
