(SNNU).</p> <p> <b>Measurements­ (mm).­ Male­ (n=3)</b>: <b>­</b> BL 13.92±2.74; HL 2.64±0.23; HW 3.65±0.57; PL 2.84±0.92; PW 3.74±0.53; FWL <b>­</b> 8.73±0.38; HFL 7.38±0.07; HTL 7.13±1.01</p> <p> <b>Etymology.­</b> The species name refers to the epiphallic lateral lobes blunt apically.</p> <p> <b>Description.­Male:</b> Head almost as wide as pronotum. Vertex broad and flattened, armed with densely pubescent. Frontal rostrum slightly convex in front view, inclined dorsally and ventrally. Median ocellus smallest of the three, ovoid; lateral ocellus transversely ovoid. End section of maxillary palpi almost equal to the length of the third; end section of labial palpi almost equal to the total length of remainder sections.</p> <p>Pronotum broad and flattened, anterior margin straight, posterior convex and middle of posterior margin angularly convex; median groove distinct. Longitudinal veins of tegmina paralleled. Hindwings longer than tegmina, uncovered portion about half length of hind femur.</p> <p>Inner tympanum shaped as elongate oval; outer tympanum absent. Hind tibiae evenly distributed with spines, armed with spurs distally (numbered 5:4); outer apical spurs two (equal in length) and the inner three (the dorsal one longest, two time longer than longest; middle one equal to length of longest; ventral one shortest).</p> <p> <b>FIGURE­16.­</b> Genitalia of <i>A. aspidoid</i> <b>sp.­nov. A</b>. dorsal view; <b>B</b>. lateral view; <b>C</b>. ventral view.</p> <p> <b>Genitalia.­</b> Lateral lobes of epiphallus trapezoidal. Median lobes of epiphallus small, apically acute. Ectoparamere proximally rod-like, not straight; apically expanded, shaped as baseball glove, with anterior side curved outward. Ectoparamere band-shaped in lateral view, included angle between ectoparamere and lateral lobes of epiphallus form an acute angle. Guiding rods shovel-like, apically acute.</p> <p> <b>Coloration.­</b> Body brown. Clypeus and labrum yellowish. Tegmina brown.</p> <p> <b>Female</b> unknown.</p> <p> <b>Remarks.</b> This species resembles <i>Aphonodies sabahi</i> Gorochov, 2007 in features of body and genitalia, but are distinct in the epiphallus and ectoparamere. <i>A. aspidoid</i> <b>sp.­nov.</b> differs from <i>A. sabahi</i> in shape of ectoparamere, which of the new proximally not straight and what of the other is straight; ectoparamere of the new armed with outside margin apically concave and the other with inner margin concave. Head slightly narrower than pronotum. Vertex broad and flattened, densely pubescent. Frontal rostrum slightly wider than antennal scape; and slightly convex in front view, inclined dorsally and ventrally. Median ocellus smallest of the three, ovoid; lateral ocellus transversely ovoid. Eyes slightly convex. Clypeus and labrum shiny; clypeus somewhat convex and labrum proximally convex at middle. End section of maxillary palpi almost equal to the length of the third; labial palpi short, end section of labial palpi equal to the total length of remainder sections.</p> <p>Pronotum broad and flattened, anterior margin straight and the posterior convex; median groove of pronotal disc distinct. Longitudinal veins of tegmina parallel. Hindwings longer than tegmina, uncovered portion slightly shorter than hind femur.</p> <p>Inner tympanum shaped as elongate oval; outer tympanum absent. The ventral of epiphallus bearing a short projection.</p> <p> <b>Coloration.­</b> Body colored brown. Eyes yellowish brown; frontal rostrum brown; clypeus and labrum yellowish. Pronotum ornamented with median groove. Tegmina dark brown.</p> <p> <b>Female.</b> Resembles male. Slightly darker than male. Ovipositor smooth, brown, arrow-shaped and equal to the length of posterior femur.</p> <p> <b>Remarks.</b> This species resembles <i>Aphonoides acuta</i> Ingrisch, 1997 and <i>Aphonoides morobe</i> Gorochov, 2008 in features of body and genitalia, but it is distinguished by the epiphallic lateral lobes and ectoparamere. <i>A. cuvto</i> <b>sp.­ nov.</b> differs from <i>A. acuta</i> and <i>A. morobe</i> in the shape of the ectoparamere. Ectoparamere <i>A. cuvto</i> <b>sp.­nov.</b> apically slightly narrowed, that of the others apically widened. Ma-Huang-Fu-Zi-Xi-Xin Decoction for Allergic Rhinitis: A Systematic Review
Background. The treatment effects and safety of Ma-Huang-Fu-Zi-Xi-Xin decoction for patients with allergic rhinitis have yet to be clarified. Objectives. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects and safety of Ma-Huang-Fu-Zi-Xi-Xin decoction in patients with allergic rhinitis. Methods. We searched PubMed, EMBASE (Excerpta Medical Database), Cochrane Library, Chinese Cochrane Centre’s Controlled Trials Register Platform, Wanfang Chinese Digital Periodical and Conference Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) Database, and VIP Chinese Science and Technique Journals Database to collect randomized controlled trials of Ma-Huang-Fu-Zi-Xi-Xin decoction (MHFZXXD) for allergic rhinitis (AR) prior to May 8, 2017. RevMan 5.3 software was used to conduct a meta-analysis. GRADE methodology was applied to evaluate the evidence quality for each outcome. Results. Six randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving 576 participants (10–78 years old) were included. A meta-analysis revealed that the overall effect of MHFZXXD for AR was not better than western medical treatment (RR: 0.41; 95% CI: 0.26–0.65; P=0.0001) for all included studies. However, the evidence quality of these western medical intervention studies was low or very low due to a high risk of bias, small sample sizes, and poor-quality design.</jats:p

Overlooking the effect of alcohol quenchers can mislead mechanistic understanding in ferrate-based advanced oxidation processes
Alcohols serve as effective quenchers and are widely employed to assess the role of reactive species in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). However, this study reveals that frequently used alcohol quenchers, including tert-butanol (TBA), methanol (MA), ethanol (EA), and furfuryl alcohol (FFA), can substantially affect the ferrate (Fe(VI)) system. Firstly, the presence of alcohols was found to influence the decomposition of Fe(VI). In the pH range of 7–11, various alcohols promoted Fe(VI) decomposition, especially at pH 7–8, namely, the pH conditions often used in Fe(VI)-based advanced oxidation studies. The magnitude of Fe(VI) decomposition influenced by the alcohols was ranked as FFA > EA > MA > TBA. Secondly, alcohols may alter the formation and conversion of high-valent iron active species. Using the phenylmethyl sulfoxide (PMSO) probe, we observed that MA and TBA inhibited the removal of PMSO by Fe(VI), while FFA and EA substantially enhanced it. These results indicate that alcohols may not only influence the decomposition of Fe(VI) itself, but also affect the degradation of pollutants mediated by high-valent iron active species. These phenomena may lead to misconceptions about the mechanisms and efficacy of Fe(VI)-based AOPs. Overall, this work underscores the importance of carefully selecting quenchers in complex oxidation systems involving Fe(VI) to avoid misleading interpretations of Fe(VI) decomposition and oxidation behavior
