No full textAbstractThis paper provides an experimental investigation into the pin loading effects on the crack growth behaviour in Fibre Metal Laminates. The pin loading effects and bypass loading effects are incorporated in two different tested joints. The analysis of the test results shows that pin loading dominates the crack growth only in the vicinity of the pin hole and the superposition method for analysing stress intensity factor in FMLs with pin loading effects can be applied
Hsi K'ang 嵆康 and Buddhism : Hsi K'ang in the History of Thought of the Six Dynasties
Get PDFIn the present article the author tries to interpret the thought of Hsi K'ang in the light of a new historical approach, including the history of Chinese Buddhism, and to evaluate his thought in the context of the history of Buddhism and that of thought at large in the Six Dynasties. With this in view the author analyzes the impact of Buddhism on Hsi K'ang on the one hand and his influence on Chinese Buddhism on the other. With regard to the first point the author makes close examination of Hsi K'ang's life so far as it relates to Buddhism, while as to the second Hsi K'ang's Taoistic philosophy--realization of eternal life--is explored in order to ascertain what role Hsi K'ang played in the Six Dynasties in introducing and developing Buddhism
