Abstract: Although Six Sigma has been carried out within side the production and different services industries. This look at defined the Six Sigma idea as a first-class initiative that may be carried out in the constructing enterprise. The concepts, method, and metrics of Six Sigma are first mentioned. The software of Six Sigma for enhancing the first-class of inner finishes at some stage in creation is likewise explained. For that a case of residential complicated which include one hundred residences is carried out to discover the defects in plastering. These defects are then evaluated through making use of DMAIC method of six sigma. Before making use of DMAIC, the sigma degree is calculated through defects consistent with million possibilities (DPMO). In case look at miles determined that the defects determined in completing paintings (plastering) of residential complicated are cracks on plastered floor, mistaken vertical edges of column, window and door, horizontal edges of column, window and door, air hole in plastered floor, choppy plastered floor, and plastered floor broken at some stage in sporting out different sports. Further those defects are evaluated the use of DMAIC method. Keywords: Six Sigma, Defects, Construction, Quality Improvement, DMAIC. A conceptual study on an Ayurvedic perspective in prevention and management of COVID-19 with reference to Charak Samhita

    No full text
Introduction: This paper correlates the vastly detailed concepts of Janpadodhwansa and COVID- 19 from Charak Samhita to the novel coronavirus. The aim of this paper is to draw the attention of the experts toward the similarities between coronavirus and Ayurvedic preventive measures, in hopes of finding some more effective measures of prevention as well as cure for the ongoing pandemic. The descriptions of Janpadodhwansa are scattered in different Ayurvedic classics which reveals the rich knowledge of the Ayurveda developed since the time immemorial. Aim & Objective: To review the well documented concept of the Ayurveda about Janpadodhwansa and its preventive and supportive management as in present era of COVID-19 pandemic. Materials & Methods: A brief description was given about Adharma and immunity. The concept of pandemic/epidemic is explained with the term “Janpadodhwans.” Literary study of COVID-19 through the perception of classical disquisition like Charak Samhita, Sushrut Samhita of Ayurveda with the available commentaries, with modern correlation was done. Conclusion: It was deduced that every disease changes its mode of onset and course of progression with changing climatic conditions and timeline peculiarities. The diseases are not identical, but the author hopes that the similarities drawn can be of use to better understand the whole spectra of diseases that have come and those that have yet to come

High-Density Array of Well-Ordered HIV-1 Spikes on Synthetic Liposomal Nanoparticles Efficiently Activate B Cells

    No full text
SummaryA major step toward an HIV-1 vaccine is an immunogen capable of inducing neutralizing antibodies. Envelope glycoprotein (Env) mimetics, such as the NFL and SOSIP designs, generate native-like, well-ordered trimers and elicit tier 2 homologous neutralization (SOSIPs). We reasoned that the display of well-ordered trimers by high-density, particulate array would increase B cell activation compared to soluble trimers. Here, we present the design of liposomal nanoparticles displaying well-ordered Env spike trimers on their surface. Biophysical analysis, cryo- and negative stain electron microscopy, as well as binding analysis with a panel of broadly neutralizing antibodies confirm a high-density, well-ordered trimer particulate array. The Env-trimer-conjugated liposomes were superior to soluble trimers in activating B cells ex vivo and germinal center B cells in vivo. In addition, the trimer-conjugated liposomes elicited modest tier 2 homologous neutralizing antibodies. The trimer-conjugated liposomes represent a promising initial lead toward the development of more effective HIV vaccine immunogens

Influence of β–glucanase supplementation on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, blood parameters, and meat quality in broilers fed wheat-barley-soybean diet

A total of 600 one-day-old male Ross 308 broiler chickens with an average body weight of 43.00 ± 0.42 g were used in a 35 d growth assay to investigate the supplemental effects of three levels (600, 1200, and 1800 β-glucanase units kg−1) of β-glucanase on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, blood parameters, and meat quality in wheat–barley–soybean-meal-based broiler diet. During days 19–35 and overall period, chickens’ body weight gain and feed conversion ratio were significantly (P  0.05) the meat quality. In conclusion, broiler diets supplementation with increasing β-glucanase could improve the growth performance, enhance the digestibility, and modulate the concentrations of BUN linearly. Meat quality was not influenced. The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page. Vector competence of certain Culex and Aedes mosquitoes for the Chittoor virus, the Indian variant of Batai virus

Chittoor virus (CHITV), a mosquito-borne bunyavirus (Orthobunyavirus: Bunyaviridae) isolated in India, has been found to be antigenically close to the Batai virus (BATV),which has a wide distribution across Asia, Europe and Africa. The latter causes influenza-like illness in humans and mild illness in sheep and goats. BATV has been involved in genetic reassortment with other bunyaviruses, generating novel genome combinations and causing severe clinical manifestations including hemorrhagic fever. Conversely, CHITV has never been associated with any major outbreaks in India, although neutralizing antibodies have been detected in humans and domestic animals. Repeated isolations and seroprevalence have prompted us to determine the vector competence of three important mosquito species, viz., Culex quinquefasciatus, Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Aedes aegypti, for CHITV. The three mosquito species replicated CHITV to titers of 6.3, 5.0 and 5.2 log10TCID50/ml, respectively, and maintained the virus for substantial periods. Both the Culex species demonstrated vector competence, while Ae aegypti did not. Horizontal transmission to infant mice was also demonstrated by both the Culex species. Active circulation of the virus and the availability of both susceptible hosts and competent vector mosquitoes pose a serious threat to public health should there be a reassortment. The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page.
