    Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a common transmissible agent responsible for a significant proportion of chronic liver disease, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma worlwide. The natural history of acute HCV infection is charaterized by a righ rate of progression to persistent infection.
