We sincerely express our apology for the changes in the author list in the article entitled Patorani local knowledge system in fisheries resources conservation education in Galesong District South Sulawesi. This article was published on DOI: 10.17977/um017v28i12023p52-63, with the authors list consisting of Hasriyanti, Rusdi, Alonge Titus Adeyemi, Michel E. D. Chaves, and Erman Syarif. However, Michel E. D. Chaves issue a complaint regarding his involvement during the research and paper completion. He did not agree to the inclusion of his name in the author list. We have contacted the corresponding author for confirmation. Besides, the co-author has also confirmed the mistake in the writing of one of the author’s names, Alonge Titus Adeyemi, which should be Titus Adeyemi Alonge. The corresponding author has submitted a letter of author contribution signed by Hasriyanti, Rusdi, Titus Adeyemi Alonge, and Erman Syarif. The original article has been revised, and reasonable effort should be made to remove all references to this article

Vegetable oils as quenchants for hardening medium carbon steel
Groundnut (Arachia hypoge) oil and palm (Elaeis guineeness) kernel oil were investigated as vegetable quench-ing media for carbon steel (0.45 % C) by determining the characteristic temperature-time cooling curves and rel-ated mechanical properties. The three stages of cooling examined during quenching were vapour blanket, boili-ng and convection. The study was conducted to find vegetable oil alternatives to the commonly used synthetic polymer quenchants, which are considered hazardous, costly and not readily available. The influence of cooling rates of the quenching media on microstructure, tensile strength, yield stress and hardness of medium carbon steel were also investigated. The mechanical properties of groundnut oil quenched steel were higher than palm oil quenched steel, but the wear resistance measured by hardness testing was higher when quenched in palm kernel oil than in groundnut oil
Effects of squeeze casting parameters on temperature distribution during casting of aluminium
The effects of squeeze casting parameters, such as delay time and retention time of applied pressure and die pre-heating, on temperature distribution during casting of aluminium were investigated. Increased applied pressure and die pre-heating produced higher peak solidifying temperatures during squeeze casting of molten aluminium. Longer pressure retention time and shorter delay time gave higher peak solidifying temperature and product of excellent cast properties. The correlation between experimental measurements and computed numerical values of applied pressure, die heating temperature, delay times and retention times was very good
Temperature changes associated with die profile in axisymmetric forward extrusion process
Transient heat transfer and temperature change due to varying die opening shapes in a direct extrusion of lead have been numerically investigated and presented. Upper bound method of analysis was used to evaluate the internal heat generation due to plastic deformation and frictional heat at various stages of the extrusion process. At the extrusion die land region, temperature rises with increasing complexity of die openings geometry with I-shaped section, giving the highest temperature rise, followed by T-shaped section, rectangular, circular shaped die openings with square section die opening, giving the least temperature rise for any given extrusion parameter. The die land zone shows increasing temperature rise with increasing friction coefficient, while increasing friction coefficient has no overall effect on the dead metal zone temperature rise. Increasing die land length leads to increasing contact area between the extrudate and the die resulting in increasing frictional power. Gallotannin promotes cellular death through alteration of redox status
Available anti-cancer agents are beset with various challenges including limited efficacy, non-selectivity, and toxic side effect. These factors underpin the search for more effective alternative from plant materials or natural products. Meanwhile, plant polyphenols including gallotannin have been implicated for diverse medicinal potentials. In the present study, we investigated the toxic effect of gallotannin (GT) on human breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231). GT reduced viability of breast cancer cells appreciably with an EC50 value of < 25 μM. The cellular toxicity by GT was found to be dose-dependent. The GT promoted oxidative stress through the generation of ROS. Furthermore, the fluorescence data implicate GT for causing early apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Data lend credence to the medicinal potential of GT and provide additional support towards exploring GT for future biomedical applications essentially in the development of newer and safer alternative anti-cancer agents
On the estimation of the black-capped vireo (Vireo atricapillus) territory density using geographic information systems technology, 1996
This study is based on a 1994 survey of the nesting and territory preferences of the black-capped vireo, a small migratory songbird, within Fort Hood, Texas. By Federal Government Order 51 FR 44808-44812 of 1987 (Tazik et al., 1992), these birds were declared an endangered species based on a series of studies by J. D. Cornelius in 1985 and 1986 (Tazik et al., 1993). In this study, it has been shown that the vireo nesting and territory preferences are not uniform across Fort Hood installation grounds, rather the preference is towards the north to northwest. The vegetation in this region consists of oak woodlands, with grassy undergrowth; the elevation is at most 260 meters above sea level; and the geology yields loose and chalky limestone. In addition, the territory intensity, ?ij(s), for each point s(x,y) in the ijth grid cell on the military installation, has been estimated. For each such grid cell, the probability of a successful territory is given by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) raster color maps of territory distribution of the vireo have been produced. These maps were overlaid on the slope, aspect, soils, elevation, vegetation, and military activities coverages. With the density estimate of nesting success and the GIS maps, territory position preferences were identified, thus, helping in the Land Management Plan for the preservation of the black-capped vireo on the Fort Hood Military Installation
