    Rorty’s Politics of Truth

    No full text
The paper deals with Rorty’s Truth and Progress, in which he reconsiders the main philosophical issues of his career, focusing in particular on the question of truth in moral judgment. His theory is based on anti-representationalist approach and on the conception of truth as radically contextual pragmatic tool. The aim is to discuss the connection between truth and moral judgement, showing that the meaning of moral context does not coincide with its being relative

This article deals with D. Parfit’s moral philosophy, as it has recently been drawn in On What Matters. After specifying the realistic Metaethics of Parfit’s project, I examine his polemic with moral expressivism and its interpretation of the kantian categorical imperative. Since one of the most original aspects of this interpretation is the idea of the control over the procedures concerning the agent, I show how this should lead to a control over the relevant information about agent. This perspective could suggest that the fate of ethics is political philosophy

In this article, I offer some critical reflections on E. Lecaldano, Sul senso della vita (Bologna, Il Mulino, 2016). I mainly focus on three concepts: subject, individual, and autonomy and suggest that the problem of the meaning of life can be better addressed using a no-individualistic approach
