reconstruct the artistic path of Ismail Kadare and to highlight the structural
elements of the invented narrative world, renamed Ismailand by “Is my land”,
to indicate its subjective and unmistakable connotations. The subject of the
analysis is the intertextual network through which Kadare connects his works
in a single diegetic framework, which acquires its own hermeneutic validity
in support of the poor adherence to the practice of socialist realism in force in

No full textL'opera del gesuita greco originario di Scio, Tommaso Stanislao Velasti, costituisce un compendio dell'ideologia filoellenica che a partire dalla seconda metà del XVIII secolo, influenzò i processi irredentistici che nel 1821 portarono la Grecia a proclamare la propria indipendenza dalla Sublime Porta. Nel suo percorso di ricerca, Velasti ebbe la fortuna di incontrare le opere di intellettuali albanesi di Sicilia, presso il cui seminario palermitano ebbe modo di dimorare negli anni cruciali della sua svolta ideologica. Lo studio di alcuni fondamentali documenti emersi dall'archivio del Seminario fondato da p. Giorgio Guzzetta ha evidenziato la filiazione di idee fondamentali dell'ideologia identitaria che Velasti adattò alla "questione greca"

La poetessa, amica di Galileo Galilei e di Torquato Tasso, offre un ritratto originale dell'eroe nazionale albanese, Giorgio Castriota detto Skanderbeg, rendendosi interprete degli umori che alimentavano la speranza di una nuova crociata tra la fine del XVI secolo e i primi del successivo. Il saggio esamina le condizioni esterne e testuali delle tre edizioni pervenute a stampa e dell'unica manoscritta custodita presso la Biblioteca universitaria di Torino.The poem "La Scanderbeide" by Margherita Sarrocchi constitutes a unicuum in the history of epic-chivalric poetry of the early seventeenth century Italian. The poet, friend of Galileo Galilei and Torquato Tasso, offers an original portrait of the Albanian national hero, Giorgio Castriota known as Skanderbeg, interpreting the moods that fueled the hope of a new crusade between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the next. The essay examines the external and textual conditions of the three editions received in print and of the only manuscript kept in the University Library of Turin

No full textGirolamo de Rada’s literary work and above all Milosao, his youth masterpiece have constituted the main subject of research for many scholars, who have analysed its forms, purposes and, especially, the origins. Recent research exploring the earliest phases of the cultural formation of the poet have made it urgent to investigate such origins more in-depth. After having joined the so-called «Calabrian romanticism» – which forms part of the most authentic expressions of Italian Romanticism – Girolamo De Rada composed in Italian displaying the most important ideals which would shortly afterwards appear in Milosao (1836). The reconstruction of his earliest literary experiences and placing them in the correct historical and cultural context reveal the multifaceted influences accompanying the poet up to the final version of Milosao, work which was destined to mark the future of modern Albanian literature. His period spent in Naples becomes thus more important, as here he encountered two other major Arbëresh poets who influenced him and his early literary production. It was this period which also marked his cultural emancipation and maturity, and inspired him to continue with the themes that he had absorbed in his country of origin

No full textThe paper reconstructs the arduous journey made by Ismail Kadare's fiction from the early 1970s to the present day, focusing attention on various quest-ions that regard the translation of Kadare's work into over 40 languages. The analysis focuses in particular on the mediation of French in translations of his work and on Kadare's reception in Italy. In addition to providing a detailed account of the works translated so far, the author traces the possible path for future translations, highlighting the gaps in Italian versions of his works and the complexity of the latest authorial versions.
