Measurement of the tau lepton polarisation at LEP2
A first measurement of the average polarisation P-tau of tau leptons produced in e(+)e(-) annihilation at energies significantly above the Z resonance is presented. The polarisation is determined from the kinematic spectra of tau hadronic decays. The measured value P-tau = -0.164 +/- 0.125 is consistent with the Standard Model prediction for the mean LEP energy of 197 GeV. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

We are going to handle turkeys again
this year. If you have any to sell, get
in touch with us. When we were in Calgary we went into tbe
Bank of Montreal. They had an awful rush on
and Mr. Wallace Wyand (probably some of you
don’t remember, but he used to work in th^ '
jBank of Montreal here, and Mias lone Dudley
used to clerk in the Magrath Trading Company
— it seams a long while ago) eaid "Yes,
the Bank always gets busy like the Magrath
Trading Company ten minutes before closing.
Everyone rushes in to make their deposits
and to cash their cheques,”
When Ione was up this suimner she spent a
few days.in Calgary visiting her former
Magrath friends. We asked Ione for a report
of her visit to the Bank of Montreal, but
she refused to divulge anything. AMEN.

THE HUNTING.SEASON is now on over most
of this broad land. It is entirely legal (
to go out with a gun and blaz© away at a
deer if you chance to see one. If, by somej
accident, the deor is hit, the man behind
the gun feels that he is covered with glory
Some deer, we ar© told, are already dead
awaiting the arrival of the would-be hunters
Any way you loo at it, deer hunting
a glorious pastime. A man who wouldn’t
walk a mile at horn© and groans to high
heaven when the alarm clock goes off at
seven in the morning, is a different man
the woods. He will there turn out long be-'
fore daybreak and tramp through bush all the
morning, run the risk of being shot by other
members of the party and think he is having,
a whale of a time. In the evening he will {
spend the time in an expensive way trying
to make two pair boat three of a king.
In spite of its drawbacks, hunting is
really a good game for those who like it.
It gives a man plenty of exercise and
helps him to forgot his troubles.

Mr. John Forsyth. in Town Monday. He .
isn’t ths John Forsyth of Kitchener, Ont.,
the shirt manufacturer, but John who used j
to farm and lire in Magrath and now resides i
at Aetna.
John said Frank got hit with an automo- ■
bile in the States and is now in the hospital
there.
We asked him about Howard and William
Forsyth, the writers, and John said th©
boys must have inherited that from their
grandfather, Walter Ackroyd, as he states
he didn’t think it could b© blamed to the
Forsyth’s. If it cam® from the Ackroyd forbears
a little of it should have cropped out
in Smith or Marion. The late Walter Ackroyd
was a student and writer.
Mrs. Veto Tollestrup of Picture Butte
visited her parents, Mr. & Mrs. G* S. McClain

Pete and Jake Hoffer, gons of the boss of
the Rockport Colony, were in Town Monday
warming themselves and in passing the time
of day we asked Pete how things were and he |
said "Alright," Jake spoke up and said "It’s
got to be alright, we make her go."
We thought after the boys had left that
that was the spirit of the hive. Rockport
Colony seems to have the ability to put it
over.
In talking with a member of one of the
colonies gome months age he said Crystal
Spring had lost their pep and their discipline.
Yet it seems when the other colonies
finally convinced them that ti ey should move
and gat them on the run, they didn’t let
them stop. They all united in getting them
about ae far south as possible (to the Mendenhall
Ranch) 20 miles south.
With our own Townspeople (Coni’d. on page
6)
/
Page 6 THE MAGRATH STORE NEffS,
Pete and Jake Hoffer - continued,
it’s quite different. T!?hen one of the famij
units here loose their pep or their ability
to go they just squat down on a corner lot
and die a natural death. There’s no organization
in the Church or State will pick
them up and put them out on the Mendenhall
Ranch or any other place and rehabilitate
them, and our own opinion is that there
should be.
It seems in the colonies the ministers
possess the divine right of kings among the
colonies and what they say goes. His flock
seems to grow or die according to the preacher’s
inspiration and vision (where there’s
no vision the colonies die) and the same
thing seems to sxist elsewhere. If there
is no leadership the people perish,

We had fair crops this year but a large
percentage of the money went to pay taxes.
When we think of it it seems to us that
about 95^ of the taxes collected is wasted
and thrown away. For instance, the Town
Hia.ll in Magrath cost the citizens over
2500 building would have served
the people much better. The same thing
could be said about our road construction,
our irrigation ditches, our cement culverts
which had to be torn out and replaced,.

If you live on a farm here’s some ways
of being neighborly.
If you're a beet raiser, haul your own
