L’editio princeps delle Mythologiae di Fulgenzio, Ioannes Baptista Pius, Enarrationes allegoricae fabularum fulgentii placiadis, Mediolani 1498
The purpose of the paper is to present the editio princeps of Fulgentius' Mythologiae, first edited as Enarrationes allegoricae fabularum by Ioannes Baptista Pius (Mediolanum 1498). An extensive commentary is added to the latin text. The introduction offers an overview of the life and the scholarship of the Humanist from Bologna, in order to understand the cultural background which could produce this kind of work (pp. 403-409). After a general description of the volume, the second section offers a discussion about the commentary by Pius (his way of working, his approach to the text, cultural and historical elements: pp. 409-415). Special focus on his interpretation of the fabula Bellerofontis (pp. 415-422)
