Mobile-device sensors: an innovative tool in the teaching of physical
No full text[EN] We show how built-in sensors in mobile devices can be used as portable laboratories at the service of teaching experimental sciences, especially physics, in the last years of high school and first years of university. We describe experiments that previously required expensive apparatus or were not feasible in teaching laboratories. No full textDiplomdarbs “Uzņēmuma SIA „Stari” finansiālās stabilitātes analīze un novērtējums” tika izstrādāts 2013.gadā.
Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt SIA „Stari’’ finanšu rādītājus, veikt finanšu analīzi, lai izstrādātu priekšlikumus uzņēmuma SIA „Stari” finansiālās situācijas uzlabošanai.
Teorētiskajā daļā apskatīti finanšu analīzes teorētiskie aspekti. Praktiskajā daļā autore veica uzņēmuma SIA „Stari” finanšu analīzi par 2009., 2010.un 2011. gadu, analizējot bilances struktūru un dažādu radītāju izmaiņas, novērtējot likviditāti, maksātspēju, aktivitāti, rentabilitāti, prognozējot bankrota varbūtību, kā arī salīdzināja ar nozares kopējiem rādītājiem. Analītiskajā daļā autore piedāvā savus ieteikumus esošas situācijas uzlabošanai un izstrādā priekšlikumus turpmākai attīstībai.

Počevši od najranijih zapisa pjesama i plesova kombinira izvođenje glazbe s uglavnom ekonomskim kontekstom u kojem se ona izvodi. Na kraju daje pokušaj drugačijeg, autorefleksivnog pristupa govoru kazivača.The text deals with the music history in the village of Stari Grabovac. Through such history, the text also tries to present the history of ethnology in Croatia. The author thinks that these two histories cannot be divided, neither analytically, nor in practice. He tries to present his attitude using the problematic term tradition. In that way, the history of music is presented by different ethnographic discourses. At the end of the text, the interview with family Jugović is presented as inter-subjective dialog between the heard material and the cultural heritage of ethnographer
Metabolic Differentiation Of Early Lyme Disease From Southern Tickassociated Rash Illness (Stari)
No full textLyme disease, the most commonly reported vector-borne disease in the United States, results from infection with Borrelia burgdorferi. Early clinical diagnosis of this disease is largely based on the presence of an erythematous skin lesion for individuals in high-risk regions. This, however, can be confused with other illnesses including southern tick-associated rash illness (STARI), an illness that lacks a defined etiological agent or laboratory diagnostic test, and is coprevalent with Lyme disease in portions of the eastern United States. By applying an unbiasedmetabolomics approach with sera retrospectively obtained from well-characterized patients, we defined biochemical and diagnostic differences between early Lyme disease and STARI. Specifically, a metabolic biosignature consisting of 261 molecular features (MFs) revealed that altered N-acyl ethanolamine and primary fatty acid amide metabolism discriminated early Lyme disease from STARI. Development of classification models with the 261-MF biosignature and testing against validation samples differentiated early Lyme disease from STARI with an accuracy of 85 to 98%. These findings revealed metabolic dissimilarity between early Lyme disease and STARI, and provide a powerful and new approach to inform patient management by objectively distinguishing early Lyme disease from an illness with nearly identical symptoms

No full textNa temelju dosad neuočenog natpisa i slogovnih srodnosti, krstionica iz 1592. u Starome Gradu na Hvaru pripisuje se majstoru Tripunu Bokaniću (1575.-1609.), tvorcu brojnih kvalitetnih graditeljskih i klesarskih djela u Dalmaciji toga vremena.The paper publishes a hitherto unknown short inscription on the baptistery in Stari Grad (island of Hvar, Croatia), sculpted in the year 1592, originally in the old parish church of St. Mary's/St. John's, and from the 18th c. in the new parish church of the town, that of St. Stephen the Pope's. The initials, as well as the stylistic analysis of the putto faces on the baptistery, suggest Tripun Bokanić (Pučišća, island of Brač, 1575 - Trogir, 1609) as the author. Bokanić was probably the most outstanding local architect in Dalmatia around the year 1600, as well as a sculptor of a discreet quality. The paper lists his proved and supposed works in Hvar, in Trogir and in Zadar, with a bibliography

No full textU ovom članku se iznosi najnoviji broj i popis žrtava Prvog svjetskog rata iz Staroga Grada. Rad je nastao na temeljima dva prethodna izvještaja, Petra Kuničića i Vinka Ruževića. Autor dopunjava popis zahvaljujući istraživanjima u Smotri Dalmatinskoj i Verlustlistama s mrežnih stranica Državnog arhiva u Beču. Navodi se konačan popis poginulih Starograđana, njih 28, s Rudinom i Selcima sveukupno 35.This paper presents the latest number and list of victims from town of Stari Grad during World War I. The paper was written based on two previous reports by Petar Kuničić and Vinko Ružević. The author supplements the list thanks to research in the Smotra Dalmatinska and Verlustliste from State Archive in Vienna website. The final list is stated of Stari Grad people who died, 28 of them, the total of 35 with Rudina and Selca
