The Oklahoma A&M College World War I Veterans collection captures the memories and experiences of the men and women of Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College who served in World War I. In 1919, a project headed by Maude Cass, the editor of the 1919 Redskin; Professor Maroney of the Department of History; Margaret Walters, Librarian; and J.W. Cantwell, the College President, was undertaken to survey these veterans. The surveys were returned along with photographs, letters, and newspaper clippings documenting these veterans’ experiences during World War I

Fifty Years of the Philosophy and Medicine Book Series
The Philosophy and Medicine series was conceived by H. Tristram Engelhardt, Jr. and Stuart F. Spicker in 1975 to contribute to the growing discussions of ethical and philosophical issues in the practice of medicine. Their identification of this series of problems as the focus for a book series was prescient. The ethical and philosophical issues in the practice of medicine have not diminished over time. New issues emerge and old issues need to be reconsidered. Over the last 50 years more than 150 books have been published in the series. This celebratory volume edited by the current series editors Lisa M. Rasmussen and Søren Holm looks back at the history of the series and forwards towards the new frontiers of philosophy and medicine.</p

Conclusion: lessons learned from and for adult education policy research
This concluding chapter brings to synthesis and reflects on the contribution of this handbook. First, it discusses what has been learned from adult education policy research on the swing between policy continuity and change in adult learning and education. Next, it considers the challenges that adult education and learning still face worldwide in the Global North and Global South. Then, it discusses what lessons have been learned for adult education policy research in terms of theoretical and methodological advances. It concludes by pointing at three avenues for further research: 1) the interaction between political regimes and the use of adult education policy; 2) the interest on adult education policy beyond direct stakeholders; and 3) the under-researched policy actors that act as intermediary organisations or appropriate, re-interpret and/or resist adult education polic
Introduction: politics, policy and the governance of adult learning and education
This chapter sets the boundaries of the handbook in terms of the definition of key concepts such as adult learning and education, policy, policy actors and contexts. It also discusses major policy and governance trends at transnational and global levels, and how these resonate with national and local adult education and policy. Attention is paid to the constellation of actors involved in policy work in adult learning and education policy. The chapter presents the critical approach generally followed in the book, confronting and investigating important policy challenges and developments, drawing on empirical research, and using and developing meaningful and conceptual and theoretical frameworks. In addition, the chapter introduces the structure of the book, and briefly summarizes the individual chapters
