The Stalking of Lawyers: A Survey Amongst Professionals in Milan
This is the first study focused on the stalking of lawyers. The authors hypothesized that these professionals are at risk of being stalked by their clients, and that this stalking is ascribable to RECON type I.B. A random sample of lawyers was survived. 37,3% out of 166 respondents revealed to have been stalked: not only by clients, but also by adversaries and colleagues. Data seems to confirm that the stalking of lawyers mainly belongs to RECON type I.B. Female lawyers were at greater risk that male lawyers. In family law cases, the professionals tended to be stalked by the former husbands of the lawyers' clients (p<0.01). Several female lawyers -but no male lawyers- were threatened with harm to their family members (p<0.05). Most of the stalking victims described psychological effects of being stalked. Who suffered physical aggression or repercussions on work was more likely to lodge a complaint (p<0.01)
A Monte Carlo calculation of cell inactivation
This study simulates the exposure of V79 Chinese hamster fibroblasts to low-energy protons, deuterons and alpha-particles in the LET range 10-200 keV/mu m. The starting assumption is that the induction of clustered lesions in DNA is a fundamental step for cell inactivation. A non-homogeneous cell population was simulated by a computer program, using as input measured morphological parameters reported in the literature. Variations in the number of traversals through each cell of the population and in the length of the traversal, depending on actual nuclear thickness and position of the traversal, the energy spread of the incident beam, and the change of LET along the tracks were included in the simulation. Microdosimetric spectra were computed and compared with spectra obtained neglecting particle slowing-down and stochastic aspects of cell morphology. Simulated cell survival was estimated under the assumption that surviving cells are those with no clustered DNA lesions or no passages. The main features of experimental RBE Versus LET and particle type were reproduced by the simulations. The influence of stochastic aspects of target-cell morphology and of the energy of the incident particles on survival were investigated under different assumptions about the correlation between morphological parameters. Results support the hypothesis of a relevant role of clustered DNA damage in cell killing and point out the importance of target-cell morphology and its variability in beam dosimetry and computer simulations of low-energy particle radiation effects

Non solo gli “strumenti” di cui si avvale l’accertamento in ambito psicopatologico-forense (colloquio e test) dipendono dal linguaggio e dalla cultura, ma il concetto stesso di capacità di intendere e di volere è in gran parte culturalmente connotato e lo è persino la psicopatologia, tanto che il DSM 5 riserva una parte specifica all'inquadramento culturale nella diagnosi.
All'interno di un campione di 51 perizie sull'imputabilità effettuate su stranieri tra il 1975 ed il 2015, si valuta se e in che misura i professionisti si siano preoccupati di tenere conto del fattore culturale nella valutazione peritale, anche per quanto concerne l'utilizzo di tecniche psicodiagnostiche.
Dall'analisi effettuata, emerge una sostanziale carenza di attenzione per la cultura di appartenenza del periziando, solo raramente valutata e soppesata
