    Design of the road bridge with timber load-bearing structure

    Diplomska naloga obravnava statično analizo in dimenzioniranje mostu z leseno nosilno konstrukcijo, ki je namenjen cestnemu prometu. V nalogi so določeni glavni vplivi na mostno konstrukcijo, narejena je statična in modalna analiza v računalniškem programu Sofistik. Dimenzionirani so nosilni elementi mostu in njihovi priključki. Projektiranje je narejeno v skladu z evropskim standardom Evrokod, kjer so upoštevani parametri iz nacionalnega dodatka. Most, ki ga projektiramo ni resničen in smo si njegovo nosilno konstrukcijo zamislili na podlagi že obstoječih podobnih lesenih mostov. Lokacija mostu je izbrana na regionalni cesti v naselju Luče, kjer prečka reko Savinjo. Razpon mostu znaša 32 m, njegova širina pa 7 m. Primarna nosilna konstrukcija mostu sta dve razpori na obeh straneh mostu, na kateri je v temenu razpor z jeklenimi vešalkami obešen jekleni HEB profil. Preko jeklenega profila, ki predstavlja podporo na sredini razpona, poteka 8 vzdolžnih nosilcev, ki nosijo voziščno ploščo. Voziščna plošča je narejena iz pokonci obrnjenih lesenih moralov, ki so postavljeni prečno na vzdolžne nosilce in so med sabo povezani z mozniki. Obe razpori imata kraka povezana z jekleno vodoravno vezjo, zato se v podporah pojavi samo vertikalna reakcija. Razpori in vzdolžni nosilci so pravokotnega prereza in narejeni iz lepljenega lameliranega lesa kakovosti GL-36h, morali pa so iz lesa kvalitete D60.The subject of thesis is static analysis and design of a timber bridge, with a structure that is designed for road transport. In the thesis we set out the main actions on the bridge and we made static and modal analysis with the computer program Sofistik. We also designed load-bearing elements and their connections. The design has been done in accordance with the European standard Eurocode, where the National Annex has been taken into consideration. The bridge which we have designed does not exist and we have conceived the load-bearing structure on the basis of already existing similar timber bridges. Location of the bridge was selected on the main road in the village Luče, where it crosses the river Savinja. Span of the bridge is 32 m and its width is 7 m. The primary load-bearing structure of the bridge consists of two struts on both sides of the bridge which supports steel HEB beam through vertical hangers. On top of the steel beam, which is in the middle of the span, takes place eight longitudinal timber beams, bearing timber deck. Timber deck is made of a wooden, upright facing planks that are positioned perpendicular to the longitudinal beams and are connected with dowels. Both struts are linked with steel cables and therefore there are only vertical reactions in supports. Struts and longitudinal beams are rectangular and made of glued laminated timber GL-36H, the planks are of timber D60

    Numerical simulation of free convection of nanofluids

    V diplomskem delu smo predstavili numerično simulacijo prenosa toplote za primer naravne konvekcije nanotekočin v različnih modelih z različno geometrijo. Nanotekočina je suspenzija enakomerno porazdeljenih nanodelcev v vodi. Najprej smo izvedli primer naravne konvekcije vode v kubični kotanji in določili validacijski model. Naše rezultate smo primerjali z viri drugih avtorjev in ugotovili dobro ujemanje. Izdelali smo simulacije za različne vrste nanotekočin pri različnih koncetracijah nanodelcev. Na koncu smo rezultate analizirali in ugotovili, da nam nanotekočine omogočajo izboljšanje procesa prenosa toplote.The thesis presents a numerical simulation of heat transfer by natural convection of nanofluids in different models with different geometry. Nanofluid is a suspension of evenly distributed nanoparticles in water. First, we performed natural convection of water in a cubic cavity and determined the validation model. Our results were compared with the resources of other authors, it was found that the results match. We have produced simulations for different types of nanofluids at different concentrations of nanoparticles. Results were analyzed and found that nanofluids allow us to improve the heat transfer process

    CHOICE OF WINDING CONNECTIONS FOR WIDE SPEED RANGE INDUCTION MOTOR

    Diplomsko delo obravnava načrtovanje takšnega statorskega navitja trifaznega asinhronskega motorja, ki omogoča obratovanje asinhronskega motorja s konstantno oddano močjo v širokem področju vrtljajev. Slednje je mogoče doseči z različnimi vezavami statorskega navitja. S programskim paketom emLook, ki temelji na analitičnimem izračunu asinhronskega motorja, sta bila izračunana in kasneje izdelana dva prototipa asinhronskih motorjev. Na obeh prototipih so izvedene meritve z namenom določitve elektromagnetnih in mehanskih karakteristik. Na podlagi rezultatov meritev je opravljena podrobna analiza obeh prototipov. Vse delo in meritve so bile opravljene v Laboratoriju za električne stroje (LABES) na fakulteti za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko Univerze v Mariboru.This diploma thesis is dealing with the design of three-phase stator winding, which enables that induction motor operate with the constant power in wide-speed region. The last one is possible to achieve with different connection types of stator winding. Two induction motor prototypes with different stator winding type connection were designed and manufactured. Both aforementioned prototypes were measured in order to determine electromagnetic and mechanic characteristics. Based on measured results exhaustive analysis was performed. All work and measurements were done at the Laboratory for Electrical Machines (LABES), Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor

    Magistrsko delo se osredotoča na celovito učinkovitost avtomatske formarske linije in razvrščanje zastojev v skupine 6 velikih izgub, na realnem primeru. Najprej so predstavljena teoretična izhodišča ter proizvodni proces, ki je potreben za kvalitetno izdelane ulitke. V zadnjem delu naloge pa so predstavljeni pridobljeni OEE kazalniki in skupine 6 velikih izgub proizvodnega procesa. Na podlagi rezultatov so bile potrjene zastavljene hipoteze. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da so kazalniki OEE v livarni nujno potrebni, saj nam pridobljeni podatki omogočajo dober pregled nad vsakodnevnim delom in bodo v prihodnosti nujno potrebni za spremljanje rezultatov pri optimizaciji proizvodnega procesa.The master\u27s thesis focuses on the overall equipment efficiency of the automatic molding line and the classification of downtime into groups of 6 big losses, on a real case. First I present the theoretical starting points and production process, which is required for high-quality castings. In the end of the thesis I present the obtained OEE indicators and the groups of 6 big loses of production system. On the base of results I did confirm the set hypothesis. During the thesis it was discovered, that OEE indicators are a must in the foundry, as the data obtained allows us a good overview of daily work and will be necessity in the future to monitor the results in optimizing the production process
