    Grace Falbo, as a young girl, immigrated from Santo Stefano, Italy, to Milwaukee with her mother and father in 1923. She describes the decision of her father, Nick Gagliano, to come to the U.S., his experience working in Milwaukee as a banana wholesaler, and his role in the community. She also highlights the importance of education for women in her family. Falbo graduated from Marquette University and later worked at the International Institute, which was uncommon for a women in those days. Lastly, she discusses the Rufus King neighborhood, which was very racially mixed, and her perceptions of discrimination directed at herself and others

    Il saggio propone l'analisi del décalage (tempo che intercorre tra il discorso prodotto da un intrlocutore e l'inizio della traduzione simultanea da parte dell'interprete) in alcune interazioni televisive, mediate da interprete, tra conduttore e ospite straniero. Dopo aver presentato le maggiori teorie inerenti al décalage, si procede con la misurazione del décalage registrato nelle interazioni oggetto di analisi, discutendo successivamente le varie teorie alla luce dei dati emersi dall'analisi stessa.

    The Changchun Children Data-set consists of data on 1,461 children in Changchun schools. The survey was conducted in the urban and rural areas of Changchun, a city in Jilin Province in northeastern China in June and July of 1987. Dudley Poston (Texas A&M University) and Toni Falbo (University of Texas) conducted the survey in collaboration with Liu Yunde, Gu Zhongqing, Wang Shengjin, and Yin Hao, all of them (at the time) demographers at the Population research Institute of Jilin University. The survey contained four parts, with the children's teachers and parents (usually the mothers) each completing two parts. The data-set contains 33 variables for each of the children in the survey.
