Contra la desigualdad
William Dugger questions the conventional idea that inequality is necessary for economic development through a historical and institutional examination of five of the major systems of inequality currently existing: racism, sexism, classism, jingoism, and antisemitismo It puts forward various reasons to justify that redistribution is not the solution; that inequality is pathological, cumula tive, and social; that it rests on myth and that current economic doctrine is a mythologicalsystem which preserves the status quo and confuses the current economy of collective greed and en based on the power of the large corporations- with an economy of individual initiative, efficiency, and competitive markets. And it shows that laissez faire is impractical because the State always ect:s, even when it follows non-interventionist economic policies. Against the oversimplification of those who defend the dichotomy 'State or market', it opposes the old institutionalist conjunction 'State and market'.
Working Paper No. 51, On Dugger and Corporate Hegemony
This inquiry seeks to establish that in his writings, William Dugger offers insights into the phenomenon of subreption in his effort to clarify the emergence of corporate hegemony. Focusing upon the changing organizational structure taking place within U.S. corporations, especially in the second half of the 20th century, Dugger emphasizes how the corporation’s rise to dominance diminishes the influences from other institutions—thereby undermining pluralism. Corporate hegemony emerges through invaluation processes that Dugger identifies, resulting in the positioning of the corporation as the dominant institution in economy and society. Through processes associated with subreption there takes place the internalization of corporate values, enabling corporate culture to exert forms of social control that serve to ever further strengthen corporate hegemony
A Rose by Any Other Name: The Interrelationship of Landmines and Other Explosive Remnants of War
The author explores the vast diversification in landmine etymology, condemning efforts that sought to provide more information but only complicated an already difficult process. Dugger continues with a historical perspective on the progression of language and processes used to address problems posed by landmines and other explosive remnants of war
Valuing Transgenic Cotton Technologies Using a Risk/Return Framework
Stochastic Efficiency with Respect to a Function (SERF) is used to rank transgenic cotton technology groups and place an upper and lower bound on their value. Yield and production data from replicated plot experiments are used to build cumulative distribution functions of returns for nontransgenic, Roundup Ready, Bollgard, and stacked gene cotton cultivars. Analysis of Arkansas data indicated that the stacked gene and Roundup Ready technologies would be preferred by a large number of risk neutral and risk averse producers as long as the costs of the technology and seed are below the lower bounds calculated in this manuscript.cotton, financial risk, market value, SERF, transgenic, Agribusiness, Crop Production/Industries, Risk and Uncertainty, Q12, Q16,
Seasonal and Altitudinal Variation in the Distribution and Abundance of Tardigrada on Dugger Mountain, Alabama
A seasonal survey of the distribution of terrestrial tardigrades on Dugger Mountain, Alabama, was conducted during the time period from April 1997 through April 1998. Cryptogams from five trees (Quercus alba), three on north-facing slopes and two on south-facing slopes, were sampled seasonally at three stations (645 m, 410 m, 183 m) along an unnamed tributary of the South Fork of Terrapin Creek. Trees were chosen based on their location outside the riparian zone. Tardigrades were extracted from the samples, mounted individually in Hoyer\u27s medium, and identified to species with phase microscopy. Seasonal and altitudinal variations in the distribution of the populations on the north- and south-facing slopes were determined. Present on Dugger Mountain were tardigrades belonging to 12 species (Macrobiotus cf. areolatus/tonollii, Macrobiotus cf. echinogenitus, Macrobiotus islandicus, Macrobiotus richtersi, Minibiotus intermedius, Milnesium tardigradum, Diphascon pingue, Hypsibius pallidus, Echiniscus cf. arctomys. Echiniscus virginicus, Pseudechiniscus ramazzottii, and Pseudechiniscus suillus). Due to the small numbers of individuals of each species, the total numbers of tardigrades of all species were pooled. There were no significant differences in the mean number of species or the mean number of all tardigrades per sample at each station (altitude). However, seasonal differences in both abundance and number of species were detected in pooled samples due to the high numbers collected in spring 1997
Attitudes of women religious before and after participation in a pre-retirement education program
Vita. This research was designed to examine the relationship between participation in a pre-retirement education program and attitudes towards retirement of women religious ages forty through fifty-nine. A non-randomized sample from among the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of San Antonio, Texas, was selected, with subsamples from St. Louis and San Antonio. The indices of attitude measurement were a semantic differential technique and The Dugger Pre-Retirement Attitude, Interest, Adjustment Scale. The eleven attitude indices were the following: DEATH GROWING OLD, FUTURE, LEISURE, MYSELF, PEOPLE, RETIREMENT, SECOND CAREERS, SPIRITUAL RENEWAL, YOUTH, and SELF-ESTEEM INDEX. The data from the semantic differential were analyzed by a series of independent t tests, and paired t tests were used to analyze The Dugger Pre-Retirement Attitude, Interest, Adjustment Scale. The following concepts showed significant differences on the semantic differential instrument: DEATH, GROWING OLD, RETIREMENT, and SECOND CAREERS. The SELF-ESTEEM INDEX on The Dugger Pre-Retirement Attitude, Interest, Adjustment Scale also showed significant differences. It was concluded that participation in a pre-retirement education program, specifically, Planning and the Third Age Especially for Women Religious, developed and published by the Gerontology Program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, changed some attitudes towards retirement.
Contra la desigualdad (Traducción)

Uniqueness of A-infinity structures and Hochschild cohomology
Working over a commutative ground ring, we establish a Hochschild cohomology criterion for uniqueness of derived A-infinity algebra structures in the sense of Sagave. We deduce a Hochschild cohomology criterion for intrinsic formality of a differential graded algebra. This generalizes a classical result of Kadeishvili for the case of a graded algebra over a field
