Effect of financial development and institutional quality on the environmental degradation in developed and developing countries
No full textEnvironmental pollutants have become a dreadful problem and burning issues for the present world irrespective of a country who is responsible for it. The objective of the study is to investigate impact of financial development and institutional quality on environmental degradation. The study is based on panel data for developing and developed countries over the time of 1996-2016. For the empirical analysis fixed effect and the random effect is carried out. Results show that institutional quality, economic growth, foreign direct investment, gross primary enrolment, and industrial growth have significant positive effect on corban emissions whereas financial development, population growth, trade openness, urban population and R&D expenditures have significant negative effect on corban emissions. One percent point increase in the index of institutional quality leads towards 0.006 percent points increase in the level of CO2 emissions. One percent point increase in the economic growth lead to increase the CO2 emissions by 0.39 percent points. One percent point increase in inflows of foreign direct investment increase the level of CO2 emissions by 0.016 percent points. One percent point increase in industrial growth leads to a 0.38 percent points increase in the level of CO2 emissions. Furthermore, one percent point increase in the index of financial development leads to 0.05 percent points decrease in the level of CO2 emissions. One percent point increase in urban population leads to almost 0.05 percent points fall in the level of CO2 emissions. Finally, one percent point rise in R&D expenditures leads to decrease in the level of CO2 emissions by 0.068 percent points
Effect of green human resource management practices on environmental sustainability
No full textIn today’s world, green human resource management is one of the most important factors in forward-thinking your environment-friendly business. Most of the researchers are of the view that employees must be empowered and environmentally aware of greening while carrying out green human resource management practices. The present study is examining the impact of different Green human resource practices on environmental behavior directly or indirectly via Pro-environmental behavior. The data is collected through questionnaire from the educational institutions in Baltistan region. The sample size is 300 employees of public universities. A Structure Equation Modeling is utilized to obtain the relationships between the variables. The results show that green human resource management practices have a strong direct impact on Environmental sustainability while the indirect relationship between green environmental training and sustainable environment through a mediator “pro-environmental behavior”. The results illustrate that Green Performance Management and Appraisal has a positive (β=0.27), Green Reward and Compensation and environmental sustainability which again shows a positive (β=0.14) and significant impact of Green Reward and Compensation on environmental sustainability. Green Training and Development also shows a positive (β=0.29) and Green Training and Development has a positive and significant relationship. The results suggest that the mediator does not sensitize environmental sustainability. The study suggests that Public Sector universities need to train and compensate their employee to reduce environmental degradation and make their contribution to the sustainability of the environment
Recognition of bio-structural anisotropy by polarization resolved imaging

Such a technique can be easily implemented into industrial environments, where fast and cheap sensors are required. No full textIn this article, we study a homogenization model for cloaking applications. In the given model, we consider an isotropic inner layer, which iscoated with a multilayer anisotropic circular cylinder. We describe the electrostatic response of a polarly radially anisotropic (PRA) multilayercircular cylinder. It consists of different components of permittivity in radial and tangential directions for each layer. We have shown themathematical derivation of the polarizability and effective permittivity of a PRA multilayer circular cylinder. Moreover, we demonstrate thecloaking behavior using a PRA multilayer circular cylinder. Meanwhile, we test our formation with advanced computational approaches.During our numerical test, we have investigated the numerical results of the polarizability of a PRA multilayer circular cylinder. We employan inner cloak surrounded by a multilayer anisotropic circular cylinder. However, for an ideal cloak, the contrast between the permittivityparameters approaches infinity

No full textWe studied a Spherically Radially Anisotropic (SRA) multilayer sphere with an arbitrary number of layers. Within each layer permittivity components are different from each other in radial and tangential directions. Under the quasi-static approximation, we developed a more generalized mathematical model that can be used to calculate polarizability of the SRA multilayer sphere with any arbitrary number of layers. Moreover, the functionality of the SRA multilayer sphere as a cloak has been investigated. It has been shown that by choosing a suitable contrast between components of the permittivity, the SRA multilayer sphere can achieve threshold required for invisibility cloaking
Does positive parenting predict pro-social behavior and friendship quality among adolescents?:emotional intelligence as a mediator
No full textParenting has been reported to exert significant short-term and long-term impact on the offspring’s personality, behavior, and relationships during their lifespan. The present study aimed to assess the impact of positive parenting on the trait emotional intelligence, prosocial behavior (altruism) and friendship quality of adolescents. The sample of present study comprised 350 adolescents (208 boys and 142 girls) aged between 14 and 16 year (M = 15. 46 year, SD = .86) and their parents. The data were collected from two public and two private sector schools of Lahore, Pakistan. Parenting Style Scale (Batool and Mumtaz Pakistan Journal of Psychological Reseaech, 30(2), 225–248, 2015), the Emotional Intelligence Scale for Children and Adolescents (Batool and Hayat Pakistan Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, 16(2), 17–26, 2018), the Altruistic Personality Scale (Rushton et al. Personality and Individual Differences, 1, 292–302, 1981), and the Intimate Friendship Scale (Sharabany 1974) were employed. The final model of a mediational path analysis revealed that positive parenting had a statistically significant indirect impact on the prosocial behavior of adolescents via emotional intelligence (R2 = .24). As the friendship quality of adolescents concerns, positive parenting had statistically significant direct and indirect impact (via emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior) on it (R2 = .28). Gender appeared as a significant covariate of both prosocial behavior and friendship quality. Based on the results, we suggest parents to practice positive parenting styles and recommend emotional intelligence training of adolescents to promote prosocial behavior and better relationship with friends
