No full textThe Bolbelasmus Boucomont, 1911 species of the western and southern
regions of the Mediterranean Basin (Northern Africa, Iberian Peninsula and
France) are revised. The following three new species are described: Bolbelasmus
brancoi Hillert & Král sp. nov. and Bolbelasmus howdeni Hillert & Král sp. nov.,
both from Spain and Gibraltar, and Bolbelasmus nikolajevi Hillert, Arnone, Král &
Massa sp. nov. from Egypt, Libya and Tunisia. Bolbelasmus vaulogeri (Abeille de
Perrin, 1898) stat. restit. is removed from synonymy with B. bocchus (Erichson,
1841) and reinstated as a separate species. Bolbelasmus romanorum Arnone &
Massa, 2010 is considered a junior subjective synonym of B. vaulogeri. Lectotypes
for Bolboceras bocchus Erichson, 1841 and Bolboceras vaulogeri Abeille
de Perrin, 1898 are designated. Relevant diagnostic characters (head, pronotum,
elytron, external male genitalia) are illustrated. Identifi cation keys for both males
and females, and an annotated list of the Western Palaearctic representatives of the
genus Bolbelasmus are presented. Finally, fi rst records are given for B. gallicus
(Mulsant, 1842) from Corsica and the Midi-Pyrénées region of France, B. keithi
Miessen & Trichas, 2011 from the Greek island of Rhodes, and B. unicornis
(Schrank von Paula, 1789) from the Tuscany province of Italy
Sentinel node identification in melanoma: Current clinical impact, new emerging SPECT radiotracers and technological advancements. an update of the last decade
No full textBackground: Melanoma is the most lethal skin cancer with a mortality rate of 262 cases per 100.000 cases. The sentinel lymph node (SLN) is the first lymph node draining the tumor. SLN biopsy is a widely accepted procedure in the clinical setting since it provides important prognostic informa-tion, which helps patient management, and avoids the side effects of complete lymph node dissection. The rationale of identifying and removing the SLN relies on the low probability of subsequent metas-tatic nodes in case of a negative histological exam performed in the SLN. Discussion: Recently, new analytical approaches, based on the evaluation of scintigraphic images are also exploring the possibility to predict the metastatic involvement of the SLN.99mTc-labeled colloids are still the most commonly used radiotracers but new promising radiotracers, such as99mTc-Tilmanocept, are now on the market. In the last decades, single photon emission computed tomogra-phy-computerized tomography (SPECT/CT) has gained wider diffusion in clinical departments and there is large evidence about its superior diagnostic accuracy over planar lymphoscintigraphy (PL) in the detection of SLN in patients with melanoma. Scientists are also investigating new hybrid techniques combining functional and anatomical images for the depiction of SLN but further evidence about their value is needed. Conclusion: This review examined the predictive and prognostic factors of lymphoscintigraphy for metastatic involvement of SLN, the currently available and emerging radiotracers and the evidence of the additional value of SPECT/CT over PL for the identification of SLN in patients with melanoma. Finally, the review discussed the most recent technical advances in the field

A new species of Bolbelasmus Boucomont, 1911 (Insecta Coleoptera Geotrupidae) from Sicily (Italy).
No full textAuthors have examined all available sicilian specimens belonging to the genus Bolbelasmus, collected between 1893 and 2010, previously identified as B. gallicus e B. unicornis. They conclude that both species have to be excluded from the sicilian fauna and describe the new species B. romanorum, which is characterized by peculiar punctures on the clypeus, the head and the pronotum, and by the shape of the clypeus, the head and the aedeagus sclerites. They compare the new species with all the taxa currently known in the Mediterranean. Further, they show oscillograms of both sexes of the new species, which, as other Bolbelasmus, stridulates vigorously; they also detect for the first time the pars stridens, consisting in a series of small bristles on the lower outer border of wings; the insect emits its sound moving actively the abdomen, the friction of the wing on the first abdominal tergite, particularly swollen, produces the stridulation

Mediante la presentazione di questi esempi sarà condotta una ricognizione dei principali modelli di rigenerazione urbana e delle matrici teoriche e politiche sottostanti che assolvono un ruolo fondamentale per agevolare la traduzione in pratica delle iniziative di intervento urbano e garantirne un ef cace impatto sul rafforzamento della competitività delle città. Morphology of the male reproductive system, sperm ultrastructure and γ-irradiation of the red palm weevil Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Oliv. (Coleoptera: Dryophthoridae)
No full textIn the present study we describe the morphology of the male reproductive apparatus and sperm ultrastructure of the red palm weevil - an invasive pest of several palm tree species - as well as the most important steps of spermatogenesis. The reproductive apparatus consists of a pair of testes (each formed by two lobes) a long tube-like accessory gland, a prostate gland and a small accessory gland. Characteristic features of the sperm are 90-100. μm total length, 10. μm nucleus, two mitochondrial derivatives, two accessory bodies, one well-developed puff-like structure and a typical insect 9+9+2 flagellar axoneme. One of the methods used for the biological control of pests is the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT), for the evaluation of which we make a preliminary comparison of the sperm ultrastructure of non-irradiated and irradiated weevils (at a dose of 80 Gray). © 2014 Elsevier Ltd

No full textQuesto lavoro fornisce una prima ricognizione degli effetti che l’adozione dei principi contabili
internazionali da parte delle imprese bancarie ha comportato, da un punto di vista sia strettamente
contabile sia organizzativo.
In particolare, sono stati oggetto di analisi i principi che disciplinano il trattamento contabile e la
disclosure delle voci di bilancio di natura finanziaria, e quindi i principi IAS 32, IAS 39 e IFRS 7.
Nella prima parte del lavoro sono state esposte le principali novità introdotte da questi principi, dando
particolare rilievo al criterio del fair value ed al diverso trattamento previsto per gli strumenti derivati
rispetto alla precedente prassi contabile.
Nella seconda parte si è proceduto ad effettuare un’analisi degli obblighi di disclosure previsti dall’IFRS 7.
La trattazione è stata completata dalla disamina delle variazioni indotte nella struttura della nota
integrativa redatta dalla merchant bank Efibanca a seguito dell’adozione dei principi contabili
internazionali.
Nella fase conclusiva della ricerca viene effettuata un'analisi di un documento redatto dalla Divisione
Tesoreria Provvista e Derivati di Efibanca - “ Brochure IAS 39 Progetto Advisory” – con l’intenzione di

Le scelte strategiche ed operative delle banche locali nelle regioni dei distretti tecnologici italiani alla luce della crisi finanziaria internazionale
No full textQuesto lavoro di ricerca si inserisce nell’ambito degli studi sui sistemi regionali di innovazione ed in particolare cerca di approfondire il ruolo che la finanza innovativa può esercitare nei distretti tecnologici.
La natura intangibile dei fattori di sviluppo dei distretti tecnologici e la mancanza di asset fisici per garantire linee di credito richiedono necessariamente una trasformazione delle tradizionali fonti di finanziamento delle imprese distrettuali.
Gli asset intangibili comportano un incremento delle asimmetrie informative nel rapporto banca-impresa e di conseguenza la necessità di ricercare nuove tecniche finanziarie capaci di garantire una copertura adeguata dei maggiori rischi caratterizzanti il finanziamento.
Le banche locali, rispetto alle altre categorie di intermediario bancario, sfruttando i propri punti di forza connessi alla vocazione territoriale delle scelte strategiche incentrate sulla filosofia del relationship lending godrebbero di un vantaggio nella riduzione di tali asimmetrie informative.
Un altro fattore che rende inefficace nell’ambito dei distretti tecnologici il rapporto banca-impresa può essere ricondotto alla limitata appropriabilità dell’asset conoscenza che rende difficile per le imprese spiegare ai soggetti finanziatori l’oggetto dei progetti di ricerca per i quali viene richiesto il finanziamento.
Le piccole e medie imprese cercano allora di aggirare questi ostacoli ricorrendo al loro margine di autofinanziamento se di importo sufficiente; in caso contrario l’assenza di autofinanziamento costituisce un serio vincolo per la crescita delle piccole e medie imprese facenti parte dei distretti tecnologici.
Un’importante strada che tali imprese possono decidere di seguire quando si trovano in queste condizioni è rappresentata dal mercato del capitale di rischio identificato più comunemente nelle tecniche finanziarie del venture capital, del private equity e del finanziamento mezzanino.
Nella prima parte di questo contributo abbiamo esposto una rassegna dei più recenti contributi in letteratura volta a delineare un quadro interpretativo dei distretti tecnologici.
Nella seconda parte abbiamo realizzato un’analisi del comparto del private equity nelle regioni dei distretti tecnologici con particolare riferimento alle scelte di localizzazione geografica delle imprese target e alle loro principali caratteristiche settoriali, dimensionali e reddituali in modo da poter verificare un’eventuale co-evoluzione del tessuto imprenditoriale e della finanza per l’innovazione in tali regioni.
Nella terza parte abbiamo spostato l’attenzione sui servizi finanziari avanzati rientranti nell’area di business del merchant banking come fattori di supporto dell’attività dei distretti tecnologici
