No full textTwo pages from Harry S. Lyon's, a Springfield College student (Class of 1919), scrapbook. The first page has the class year 1919, four portrait photographs, a group portrait , photograph of Pratt Field, and photograph of a lake, perhaps Lake Massasoit. The individuals in the portraits are labelled (clockwise starting left top) Cliff[Clifford S. Hurlburt], Quinnie [Percy H. Quinlan], Habby and unknown but likely Harry S. Lyons himself. The second page has five portrait photographs of students in military uniforms. They are titled Shorty [Clifford E. Horton], SATC - Robert P. Hughes, Brett (dizzy Marine), Mac wounded twice 78th Division, OIS and a photograph of the Springfield College campus looking towards the Administration building.Mr. Lyon came to Springfield from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mr. Lyons served in the U.S. Navy as in WWI.These are two pages from the Harry Lyon class of 1919 scrapbook. They are from the middle of the scrapbook, but the exact page was not indicated due to the number of pages

In the letter Lyon tells Doggett that he is almost done with the first week of his training and he then describes how that has been. He also asks Doggett for a letter of recommendation.Harry S. Lyon Graduated from Springfield College in 1919. he was put into active service in 1918 to fight in WWI and could not finish his College work. He would come bake the next year after the war had ended and finish college. After he finished College he would become a Physical Director for Schools and the Y.M.C.A. from 1919 to 1928. after which he would become a Director of Physical Education for Congress High School in 1928 to 1931 and then Bassick Junior High School from 1931 to his death in 1957

No full textHarry S. Blaine was born in Senceca County, Ohio, on June 27, 1880. He was a retired assistant superintendent of mails for the Toledo Post Office, clock and watch collector, and an author of numerous historical papers on the history and residents of the Toledo area. He gave a family history and the reasons they came to Toledo as well as a description of Toledo in 1891. He spoke of his varied careers in Toledo, including driving a wagon for a tinner in the Old West End, and jobs at the Madison and Boody House Hotels. Mr. Blaine died in Toledo at the age of 87 on May 12, 1968
