The Green Falcon - Solar Powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
No full textIn recent months the extremes of Australia’s weather have affected, killed a good number of people and millions of dollars lost. Contrary to a manned aircraft or a helicopter; which have restricted air time, a UAS or a group of UAS could provide 24 hours coverage of the disaster area and be instrumented with infrared cameras to locate distressed people and relay information to emergency services. \ud
The solar powered UAV is capable of carrying a 0.25Kg payload consuming 0.5 watt and fly continuously for at low altitude for 24 hrs ,collect the data and create a special distribution . This system, named Green Falcon, is fully autonomous in navigation and power generation, equipped with solar cells covering its wing, it retrieves energy from the sun in order to supply power to the propulsion system and the control electronics, and charge the battery with the surplus of energy. During the night, the only energy available comes from the battery, which discharges slowly until the next morning when a new cycle starts. \ud
The prototype airplane was exhibited at the Melbourne Museum form Nov09 to Feb 2010.\ud

No full textPara esta comunicación científica hemos realizado un recorrido por la historia de la psicología académica en San Luis, centrándonos particularmente en el papel activo y organizador de Plácido Horas. Es en esta línea que enfatizamos brevemente tres aspectos de relevancia en torno a su figura: su intensa actividad “académica”, “investigación” y “función pública” ya sea en la antigua Facultad de Ciencias, que perteneció a la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, o la naciente Universidad Nacional de San Luis en 1973. Metodológicamente hemos trabajado con datos biográficos de Horas, con información de archivo de la Dirección de Personal de la Universidad Nacional de San Luis, y con trabajos de investigación producidos desde el Proyecto de Investigación que dirige el Dr. Klappenbach.Fil: Muñoz, Marcelo Alejandro. 2010 population status of the Peregrine Falcon in the Yukon Territory
No full textThis survey is the Yukon section of the Canada-wide periodic monitoring of the status of the Peregrine Falcon, a requirement of the Canadian Recovery Plan for the species. Historically, this effort began in the 1960’s when a population of the interior race of peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus anatum) was first described breeding on the riparian cliffs of the rivers draining the central Yukon (Cade and Fyfe 1970). Interactive Learning of a FALCON for a Card Game
No full textAbstractAmong many reinforcement learning methods, FALCON is a machine learning method which is an extend fuzzy ART(Adaptive Resonance Theory), and can appropriately discretize a state space. FALCON is an on-line method proposed by Ah-Hwee Tan. It can discretize a state space and learn action rules simultaneously by learning relations among percepts, actions, and rewards. In this study, a learning agent using FALCON is interactively trained, and the learning effect is measured through experiments. In experiments, the learning agent learns by playing 50,000 card games of “Hearts” against three rule-based agents. Then, the interface that agents can interactively play the game with human cooperators is made so that human cooperators can play the game against the learning agent to strengthen it. It continues learning during games. The effectiveness of interactive learning is ascertained through the experiments
