No full text"The study area comprises urban and suburban parts of Rome with 52 archaeological sites. The flora and vegetation have been divided in 17 areas within the Aurelian walls (IN) and 17 ones beyond them. The different types of areas were divided in 25 monumental areas (M) and 27 green areas (V). Multivariate analysis between bioclimatic variables, biological forms, habitats and C3,C4, CAM species had led to a distinction between a coastal Sector and an inland Sector.. A statistical analysis of the relationships between quantitative variables and categorical variables (flora structure and composition)(substratum and physiognomy) was carried out through classification which confirmed the subdivion into four vegetation groups. The flora comprises 785 species with 492 genera and 90 families.
